its not steroids guys. these animals were born without myostatin levels in their body. myostatin is the protein in your body that tells your muscles to stop growing when they get to a certain point. look it up
This isn't done with steriods. there are breeds of cattle that are known for their "double muscling" thats what this is. They have lean meat, but honestly isnt what the American consumer is actually looking for in the market. That would be why you do not see many of them in America. The marbling (intramuscular fat - fat in the muscle) is what gives a steak it's flavor. These cattle do not have fat to the degree where americans are interested in buying it. But again there are no steriods used.
I saw this on tv the other day. The first "muscle" bulls were a natural genetic mutation that they then continued to breed. I think this is in Belgium.
@xxxIB6UB9xxx that is a very docile breed of bulls, they won't go against a matador, they don't have horns and if you put that in a bravo bull territory would be killed instantly. They are only good for human food.
@Angles786 well how else besides something that lowers the myostatin or increases testosterone. Pretty sure they didnt get this way by squatting or benching...
@ThePitbullMafia this is actually a disease some cows are born with. unlike other calves they are born with intensive muscle growth sadly they don't live very long thats y its refered to as a disease
@jej495 ahhh i didn't know thats very interesting :) (still awefull though:'( although i have seen a Documentary where people have doen this to them on purposse. People are so mean :(
@MsMeanRabbit Hello! What part about this is objectionable to you? This is a fully functioning animal, without health problems induced by the excess muscle. They absolutely do think about the animal as cattle are the farmers entire income.
There are plenty of examples of selective breeding that do produce sickly animals however (ranging from dogs to show pigeons), so it's not that your point is entirely wrong, but I would argue in this one case no harm has come to the bull :)
@patientcures HI there! I just wanted to say quick that the first thing you said didn't really make any sense but did sound mean (not good!), and also that bulls are selectively bred for muscle :) If you search "meet the super cow" here on youtube there is a video with that title by national geographic explaining the process and showing more examples of this. I suppose you could still argue it is not 'natural' but then we would need to define what exactly qualifies something as natural.
@001hamish the video magic editor is for editing videos. ie the video itself is comprised of a bunch of photos put together with music added. You can't just do that without the proper program hence why it says "video edit magic". These cows are not fake. Search on google "belgian blue cattle" these are very much real cattle not on steroids. Genetic mutation is the reasoning for the large muscles.
@gercolt this is very normal. these are called "belgian bulls". it's a result of selective breeding. watch the 4th video on the right "meet the super cow". no steroids have been used, only the best breeds with the best to make the best
some of these are myostatin knockouts. They do not have a gene for an inhibitor of muscle growth. I don't know if all of these are purposely genetically modified, but some humans have this occur naturally.
@tareqdoc no these animals were bred this was naturally! i saw a thing on discovery that explained hundredas of years of selective breeding no chemicals are used and no lab was used to breed them.
@helema23 You saw a thing on discovery....You poor thing. Dude check this out, that particular bull's farmer would say the word gene doping. He appears in the documentary " Bigger Stronger Faster " at 46:00 min, but just a clip of the documentary by writing " GENETIC TRANSFORMED BULL " on the youtube bar.

These aren't photoshopped, you can watch a video of them.
They take the bulls who genetically grow very big even without exercise.
They put them into a group and have them breed.
Therefor their children are even bigger than they were and this has been going on for over 100 years.
