All people are bothered with the hair when they are served with a very great performance. I personally believe that Yegveny Kissin is exceptional in Brahms. It suits he style and any performance with or of a Brahms composition will be a success.
uh, I used played that, joyful piece, has this typical Brahms'esk humor... ah, all those good childhood memories... thank you... Kissin plays wonderful! A true master of the instrument
@piano932 I don't know, I heard a lot of errors :P
I'm not depreciating his talent though, he's one of my all-time favorites! And this is an encore, so he might be tired... also, it's a great feat of not letting the errors distract him at all from his playing. I have trouble doing that.
@michelangeli23 Haha!! Yes, but from a woman's point of view Kissin's hair has a fatal attraction - it maketh the man that he is so to speak - unique in every way! He is a genius musician so his hair has to have an enigmatic element to match the rest of him :) :) :) :)
I like how at 1:18 his hands softly slide off the piano and then he does and incredible left hand passage and murders that bottom chord! (in a good way)
of course he didnt play the four hands version. he is a genious but still in the limit of the human race!! (sory my bad english if i wrong in any word).
@grxj08d : No he did not. There are two sets of several 'books' of Hiungarian Dances. One set is two-handed and this is one of the two-handed Hungariian Dances.
It was originally written for the piano (versions for piano solo and piano duet, later orchestrations by Brahms and other composers, and finally numerous arranges).
most amazing thing is he plays this AFTER a very very tough concert, with chopin's preludes and Liszt's sonata!!Seem he could play for hours and still make it sound perfect!!
What I like most about his playing of the Hungarian Dances is his variation in tempo and dynamics. Not one moment is boring or without feeling, and it surges with emotion. Very Good.
I'm gonna see Kissin in april! :D

There are people over there too, in the dark space that looks like a wall.

@pianorama22 Shall we assume the setting as a walled ampitheatre, that is with audience around the stage?
paopaomanalansan 9 months ago
@paopaomanalansan
as far a I know it is, there are more theaters with that setting. It simple makes more good seats -> more good tickets -> more profit
But OT:
I really like all of Brahms raphodie's, especially those played by Evgeny. He is as good as his hair crazy is :)
