I was so AMAZINGLY fortunate on this level tonight. I had never done it and just started it and when I walked in there was a summon sign, so i summoned a blue phantom and he knew exactly where to go and we breezed right through it and took down the boss on the first try. I probably would have been fucked without that wonderful stranger. Thank you...Ausrdeous....or whatever your name was.

@kalloused Haha, back in my first playthrough, I have come across a guy as well, but in the 2nd world. We have slayed Flamelurker together. I would have never beaten that boss alone. But ultimately, I slayed Flamelurker in new game+ all by myself.

This level is 120% easier on white world tendency. I died like 50 times on back world tendency. When it finally went back to white world tendency I didn't die once.

@welli4 You can get the Brushwood armor in 1-1. The trick is, you do a run through and kill the boss without dying, then you can come back and the door on the right is open. Follow it through to the bottom and you can find it there, or if you are a female, kill Executioner Miralda and get the Binded armor.

I had trouble with this level because of the flying manta's.

Make sure you wear a Thief's ring so they won't attack you and you can focus on the skeletons.

This level is the one time that Demon's Souls stops being strict but fair and is just plain freaking cheap. Seriously, unblockable projectiles being thrown at you while you are fighting these skeletons on a narrow cliffside? Can someone please explain to me how that isn't cheap?

@bluelaser1012 Yeah it sucks but you just gotta wear the Thief's Ring and they won't shoot you, took me a few tries to figure it out. Until I did I was pissed as hell!

I don't know why but this is the ONLY game where I genuinely enjoy the challenge. I remember that damn first level... honestly must have taken me at least 20 tries (I know, embarassing). But every time you die in this game you learn something. EXCEPT WHEN YOU GET PUSHED OFF A CLIFF, like I did on this level...

i have a question, at around 2:15 when you go through the fog gate and onto the cliff path there are no enemies, when i do this every time there are 2 BP gold skeletons and 1 BP black skeletons which are really hard to kill. They appear every time so howcome they are not there for you?

Brass telescope , gold mask , silver coronet , silver bracelets , augite of guidance , soul remains , jade hair ornament , 1 each of the 3 levels of moonlightstone , mercurystone , and faintstone , large sword of moonlight , talisman of god , and phosphorescent pole are all items that can be traded once per playthrough . Drop an item by the tree , wait til she says " happy " then reload your game on the spot .

I do this. I try to run to him before the beam is hitting me. If I'm close enough. (so you can touch it) I won't get it hit.

It's because world tendency at 4-2in your game is black i have same problem and i'm lvl 90 sucks cause 1 mistake and i get my ass handed 2me the 2 red skeletons u refer to are not so much a problem it's more the ninja red phantom behind em =0 easy cowards way is pull 1 run all the way back to where u go out to the ledge where u can shot the three first skeletons in 4-2

Your world tendency is dark, the black phantoms appear throughout the game when that is the tendency. Use thief ring and use a bow to pull one of them over(keep shooting him till he gets past the rings effect). Use weapon enchantment. Also think about pushing them off the cliff if you're having so much trouble.

unfortuantely yes, but, dont get sad or angry, you can get his armor next playthrough, my suggestion is when attempting to kill him make sure if he gets close to the cliff let him come back to not near the edge of the platform and you should be fine.

well that fucking sucks...... i assumed the bastard would be hard to beat, so i waited until he was right next to the edge then thrusted my spear into his ass and he went off the ledge.

I tried looking for his remains when i got down to the swamp, but i couldnt find them.

I am a temple knight. Is there any way to increase my armour other than the 1-1 Brush armour? (i dont think getting to pure black to get that is a wise idea my first go around). I use the purple and adjucator shields now.

truthfully i checked and the silent chief's armor is only a little better then the starting knight armor, its just some extra magic protection, just get the protection spell from the mage and you'll be fine.

the gloom armor is much better than fluted armor because of it's poison/fire/plague resist+.

Hey dude I'm probably kind of late for this but you just have to reload your profile and the armor should be right outside the cage, If that doesn't work go back to the nexus and go back, trust me I threw him off the cliff and It worked.

Yurt is in 3.2 Tower of Latria you cant miss him. You have to set him free in order to ride the jail cell down and continue to your goal. Enjoy =)

to get the shield just go to 1-1 and go pass the blue eyed night. go straight and go down the stair well there will be a big opening go out and cut the chains then go to the begging of the level and go down the small stairwll the gat will be open kill all the people kill exocutioner miralda and go down the brushwood armor shield, pants, and helmet will be there

Yes the shield is at 1.1 but you need pure black world tendancy which you get by diying

If you position yourself right after you kill the first ghost on the stairway, you can snipe the reaper from there with aimed shots. It's alot safer than trying to go toe to toe with him.

Oh, and I have a purple flame shield +4 but I also have the Brushwood...down the long road it looks like the Purple Flame shields stats are better but my question is why do you choose the Brushwood over the PFS?
