Thanks for someone finally posting this. I've been trying to find it for years! I've told my children and friends about it and remember it when I was a kid. It's so beautifully moving and haunting. God bless Willie Dunn for this great work.
what a wonderful song im not even native and i find this song exvcellent. what an amazing way of life us white people ruined. ever since i had to watch this in english class ive loved it.
I used to show this film to my social studies class- it said more in 10 minutes than I could say in a month. I'd recommend the book, Indian Fall, by D'arcy Jenish (1999). A great song and film.
I watched this documentary many years ago. I never saw it again nor did I hear the song again, though it haunted me for most of my life. I searched for the song many times but never found it. I was so grateful to see someone posted this beautiful and brilliant tribute to a great man and his people. It needs to be seen by many. It helps explain the gulf between the solitudes of red and white.
It's amazing but your comment speaks for me too. I first saw this incredible film at school in the early 70's and never forgot it although I never saw it or heard the song again. And I've searched for it as well. Nice to finally find it, isn't it?

capo on first fret: Am E (repeated many times) and the other chord is C. If you just play with the video you'll figure it out :)
