You can deep fry a turkey without it bursting into flames. Here's the thing about it. The turkey has to be COMPLETELY DRY before you put it into the 350 plus degree oil. That means NOT FROZEN!!

What happens is the water frozen in the turkey boils when exposed to sudden major heat of the oil, and boils over the side of the pot into the flames and guess what? OIL BURNS!

Yes, fry your turkey outside, and with proper prep, it's actually pretty good. Lesson here... don't be a douche!
