No doubt the has more power, factory(2006) its a V8 4.6L making 300hp and the(06) 350z is V6 3.5L is also making 300hp. If you'd race a V6 mustang (210 hp 4.0L) against a 350z V6 (300hp 3.5L) the Z wound eat that pony's lunch, but the V8 vs V6 wouldn't be worth bragging over lol. (this again in the world of stock)

Actually the newer body style mustangs are a proven drift platform. I'm not a muscle or import guy really, I respect any car that is able to hold its own in what it was built to do (by the driver and/or his team, not the factory).
Also, to the import haters talking about don't mess with a V8, they both had V8s. The 350 is not turbo like the title says and has a 5.6L Titan motor swapped in. So you're only making fools of yourselves. Also, the Z won, I was there.

@SuperCuttysark The same for certain things, sure. But to get the 6 to the same level (just talking torque/hp here) it has to be modded. I just prefer a V8. If your car is lighter, as it is with most 6's then you are in the green, just like a heavier car with a V8. I like having the extra size, though. Too many terrible drivers out there for me to feel comfortable in a small 350 or 370. I am still trying to convince my brother to not get one, lol.

@milodaman2 older v8s n muscle cars actually didnt create THAT much HP. it was all torque. most v8s, there r SUM exceptions, but most v8s back n the muscle car era were very torquey. if u look @ the #s, u would c the cubic inches, the HP would b lower, and the torque would b higher. the modified, huge displacement, or performance engines did crank out sum serious ponies tho

Erm, what? The fucking Saleen overcooked the corner at 1:30 and by doing so, effectively ended the race. He made a mistake and the Z had to back out or he'd have T-boned the Saleen. After the Saleen realised he'd fucked the turn, he mightve been able to let the Z go by but he chose to keep his foot planted and do a donut and continue on... he clearly didnt want to give the Z driver the satisfaction of passing him after his mistake but he obviously lost due to the fact he spun out on his turn.

Unfortunately if this were a track race the 350Z would destroy the Mustang. Ford uses a liveaxle rear end whereas the 350Z has independant McPherson struts. I'm not sure if the special edition Mustangs (Saleen/Shelby/Roush) use McPherson or stand by their Liveaxle.
yeah maybe stock they would but these cars are all built to do this type of racing they dont have stock suspension or anything like that, only thing that seperates these cars are the cubic inches and their weight.

he had way too much angle comin in the corner and lost it forsberg had to stop otherwise he would of hit him..in the first lap the mustang even lost its drift and line at :41...forsberg should of won just cause he did a burnout and finished the track he shouldnt of won..better not expect to win down here in atlanta like that

Real muscle cars are from the 60's-70's. After the 90's, they turned into sports cars with engines that don't create enough HP as they used to.

@milodaman2 older v8s n muscle cars actually didnt create THAT much HP. it was all torque. most v8s, there r SUM exceptions, but most v8s back n the muscle car era were very torquey. if u look @ the #s, u would c the cubic inches, the HP would b lower, and the torque would b higher. the modified, huge displacement, or performance engines did crank out sum serious ponies tho

It amazing how hyped up "drifting" has gotten. The announcers are all yelling an actin like it's so excitin...its the figure sating of atosports...its not racing. I completely understand the amount of control and skill involved in doing this, but its just...boring.

The idiot mustang driver nearly hit him because he tried to overcook the turn because he realised the Z was catching him.. he could've avoided all of that if he just relinquished the lead but he didnt. Erm, what? The fucking Saleen overcooked the corner at 1:30 and by doing so, effectively ended the race. He made a mistake and the Z had to back out or he'd have T-boned the Saleen. After the Saleen realised he'd fucked the turn, he mightve been able to let the Z go by but he chose to keep his foot planted and do a donut and continue on... he clearly didnt want to give the Z driver the satisfaction of passing him after his mistake but he obviously lost due to the fact he spun out on his turn.

The Z had no other option but to stop where he was. The Mustang CAUSED the Z to stop. If he had tried to continue he wouldve plowed right into the side of him. THEREFORE the Mustang lost the 2nd lap. If you cant comprehend that then I give up coz you clearly dont understand despite the fact u were allegedly there.

@Dev1ner the car also almost pinned the saleen into the side so, if it wasnt for his expertise, he would have damaged both sides of his car. they both messed up, but the Z car could have kept going if it was expert enough.

so explain to me why the guy in the mustang seemed to have more fun, did you see the first turn he took it right next to the wall and the 350 only got so close. I know everyone has there preferences but if I see it right it said saleen right, well the stang kicks out stock 400Hp and the 350 kicks out 300 but that's out of the point here, the stang is a lot heavier but I can quote you "perfect balance" a great drifter can even drift a 100Hp car, the stang is a great car and it can drift

Yes, they are V6, not inline.
Unfortunately if this were a track race the 350Z would destroy the Mustang. Ford uses a liveaxle rear end whereas the 350Z has independant McPherson struts. I'm not sure if the special edition Mustangs (Saleen/Shelby/Roush) use McPherson or stand by their Liveaxle.
