I can cure any blisters (even bigger than the one on the vid) in just 12 hours! This is what I use to do when I was in the swiss army after long march.
1) Poke 2 nice holes in the blister with a needle
2) Lift the white skin off the new skin
3) Use a Hairdryer to dry the blister and the new skin underneath
4) Fill up the blister with a desinfecting powder for the night. Repeat in the morning.
The "white skin" is going to harden and will protect the new skin underneath
@rube814 - thanks for your opinion, Rube, but I suspect you'd feel differently if you developed blisters during our long runs, practice on grassy fields, practice on shiny gymnasium floors, etc -- all barefoot. These last for days. Blister fluid under pressure from our weight forces fluid under adjacent healthy skin which increases the size of the blister until it's torn open on its own, often tearing deeply into healthy flesh. This procedure prevents a minor injury from becoming serious.
@aizurie Dang! wish I'd known about this when I was in martial arts. I got nasty blisters ALL THE TIME and sometimes it was nearly impossible to get rid of them.
@rube814 SKA special training is not for everyone. If you are concerned with things such as pain or infection enough as to shake your confidence, then special training is definitely not for you. All I can say is I've had many blisters, many cuts, and many infections. Somehow I'm not dead... so maybe its not quite as bad as one might make it out to be. In my humble experience, so long as you clean the wound after each practice it wont go green on you. Does a blister stop a fight?
@chudanjufood With all due respect proper first aid techniques and hygiene awareness have nothing to do with martial arts training. I'm glad thus far you have not caught gangrene, but abusing your body doesn't make for a truly confident martial arts. In fact it is the opposite...
@rube814 This is a common treatment for blisters that are located in such a place as to make it impractical to not drain it. Accept they even added the betadine to the thread to keep the holes created by the needle sterile. So long as the lose skin from the blister is not removed, there is minimal risk of infection. If you don't believe me that this is a common practice, google search "Foot blister treatment", won't be long before you find this technique minus the betadine.
@MajinSaha - sure it will heal by itself, but Dinh (the guy with the blisters) was in the middle of SKA special training (multiple long and very intense karate practices over several days and nights. This treatment keeps the blister 'deflated' and usually prevents it from getting larger or tearing off during subsequent practices.
@MajinSaha Ah, yes! I see you were training with SKA in Pittsburgh (I have made several special trainings with my friends practicing in Pittsburgh)! Greetings and best to you from Kansas City Shotokan Karate Club !!
I have this infection but did not bother and it healed by itself just sayin

@PAiiSACHiiCkk Popping a blister is pain-free, as the skin is already dead.

That is so stupid.
1. The fluid in the blister protects from further friction damage
2. Poking holes in the feet invites infection
3. Dragging feet with open wounds across a floor increases the likelihood of infection
4. Infection with plantar surface warts probability increases (and is horribly painful and difficult to heal)
5. This is taking training too far
6. He could have just stuck a moleskin to the bottom of his foot, but no, these guys would rather practice incompetent surgery.
