  • Better?

  • i have a friend that his dad or something used to make those ukus, but not anymore, its fun to play one, his name was Joseph Kamaka (Ola for short!)

  • hoa unko get da ear for just teach em urself ah, haha...beautiful

  • Fantastic your willingness to tackle this song inspired me to try it myself. It's on my page. Please tell me what you think. I'd appreciate some input. Aloha

  • ho bra nice ukulele... Kamaka?

  • It's a stock Kamaka...Thank you!

  • Very nicely done. I have the CD version with all the other accompanying instruments. This used to be the theme song in the "Golf in Hawaii" series. I actually called them to find out the name of the song, and that's how I ended up buying the CD.

  • I taught myself this song also. Its a bit different.

  • need to get your son to learn to play it on the guitar. I personally think its the best duet instrumental song ever.

  • That would be pretty cool to play it with my son.... We did Guava Jelly (Ka'au Crater Boys) together. It's fun when we both like the same song. Aloha!

  • Hey Mista, Sounds great what brand strings are you fave, and do you play high or low G ?

  • Worth strings with the low G

  • wow......how long it take u to learn this song?

  • I don't really know...I did it off and on. I think a week or two...

  • You have a good ear, patience and knowledge of the uke or you would not have been able to pull off those Peter Moon licks. You are also to be commended on your constitution which has a built in bullshit-detector for seeing jealous, insecure, cheap punks and overrides their futile attempts to undermine your work. Mahalo nui loa brah and on my wish list is "Kohala March." Mango DaVille

  • Wow, thank you very much for your kind words! I really appreciate it, thank you! I don't think i've heard Kohala March before, but I'll try to look for it. Thank again, Aloha

  • A beautiful instrument beautifully played. Bravo! And to all the critics: if you can do better..then do it, record it and post it here, otherwise shut up.

  • Hey thanks for the very nice comment! Glad you enjoyed the video...aloha!

  • Just want to thank EVERYONE for your comments and ratings on this song. I really...Really appreciate the strong backing from you all.(you know who you are) I THANK YOU! If I have offended anyone...I apologize. Please enjoy the video...

  • To mistahukulele808, right on. It IS a very difficult song to play let alone as smoothly as you do. I hope Treoxmysox and pdilla don't attack me for suggesting but I would really like to hear Pandanus with some of your own unique flavor. Not to back Werzy up but it did sound a lot like Peter Moon's version. It'd be really interesting.

  • I thank you for your nice comment, I really appreciate it...yes, it is a difficult song to play, not to mention figuring the song out by ear and playing it up to speed. That is a passion/satisfaction for myself. I can't seem to want to do it any other way as cover. (As with the other song covers that I did)I agree that adding my unique flavor would be interesting, but that's just not my thing. But in any case...thank you.

  • nah, I would jump on you. I jump on picky ass haters who don't appreciate talent, such as werzy.

I do understand that covers should have some sort of uniqueness, but on such a song like this, its sort of hard to put in your own licks without it sounding like you messed it up, isn't it? It like replacing a Jimmi Hendrix solo. Just doesn't make any sense.

  • Wow! From both sides of the arguement I can sense a lot of hostility. Although I strongly disagree with Werzy it's just one guys opinion. Take a deep breath and calm down. I am a big fan of Peter Moon going back to his days with the Maile Serenaders and the Sunday Manoa.

  • Wow I didn't even think this song could be played on the ukulele. Gotta give you respect on this one.

  • Thanks again for the great comments!!

  • lol...

  • holy shit boi

if you wanted to listen to hawaiian music in general then what the hell are you doing going around flaming at someone whos obiously better in life than you.

    and "hawaiian music"...

    Hawaiian music?!?

does "PANDANUS" Not Sound like fregginn hawaiian to you?

  • Not to back Werzy up but Pandanus is also known as the Hala tree of Hawaii. I also think the song can be considered Hawaiian. I think songs not in the Hawaiian language can still fit into the Hawaiian music genre. Just my opinion.

  • Werzy, get your head out of your ass. This is great music. And HAWAIIAN music at that. Peter Moon contributed so much to Island music.

Do us all a favor, and the next time you flame use your real account name instead of making a fake one so you don't have to man up to the rest of us.

  • Shut the FUCK UP. You don't have a fucking clue about musicianship and respect in general. Where's your videos smart ass? fuck you and your fucking ass.

  • you have no freakin right to say he sucks ass.

YOU suck ass for saying he sucks ass.

and it's a free country, he can copy Peter Moon if he freakin wants to.

and he DOES play it good, stupid buttcrap, because if he didn't, it wouldn't be like Peter Moon, now would it? thought so

    GET A FREAKIN LIFE

  • WOW! I think you pretty much nailed it! I love this song, it's one of my favorites! Amazing braddah!

  • Thank you! One of my favorites too!!

  • Damn......that was awesome. Makes me want to quit and sell my uke's. Tell me you do this professionally.....one of my favorite Peter Moon songs also. Aloha from Mililani.

  • Wow...thanks for that awesome comment! It's very humbling to hear your take on this video. Thank You...Aloha from Wahiawa.

Now i gotta watch this vid continuously to watch your your tabs LOL

    Nice work, cuz

  • lol...I don't think anyone has posted a Pandanus yet. This version that they play on the radio is one of my favorites! Because Peter Moon plays it on the guitar, I had to play the low parts in a higher octave. But I think it came out pretty close. Thank for the comment! Have fun!!
