pintxos my friend, not tapas, spaniards call tapa to all food in a bar, peanuts, coconut, donut... pintxos are small portions of food that you can take in your hand and eat in one or two bites,usually have a pintxo or prickle to hold them static. Basques do not use this word "TAPA" never and ever... if you call tapa to a pintxo-prickle they will think badly on you, if you want peanuts in san sebastian you don´t have to say "I want a TAPA of peanuts" just say I want portion of peanunts of ham...
