  • Still funny.

  • I don't think I find this very funny, after all the suffering native peoples have had to endure.

  • nah, don't feel bad about it. it's funny. i always liked graham.

  • I feel bad for laughing at it.

  • Love it!! Thanks Graham and Rick.

  • lmfao

  • This is so funny, I love it when they make fun of all this commercialization and all this "ancient wisdom" when its either new or plain superstition.

I even took time to read your video comment.

    Keep it up.

And the half-question is not only for natives. Somehow it seems that it always counts that you are not fully "belonging" either meant derogatory or as something cool (e.g. someone bosts with being half-greek and the like), stupid in my eyes.

  • Laughed so hard. Too bad the issue itself isn't funny.

    Take the headdress off!

  • Love it... Take the head dress off! HA

  • Lmbo

  • I love Graham Greene. That was classic and literally made me laugh out loud.

    TAKE THE HEAD DRESS OFF!

  • LOL,....Graham Greene's one AWESOME native!! = )

Xicmotla ´palhui nopampa Ker'ihertahu!! Translation: Greetings to you on my behalf from Querétaro!!

  • HA HA HA HA ! "Dr Greene flesh wound reliever" ROFL !

Does this is a stone thrown in the garden of the late lamented Floyd Red Crow Westerman and his Lakota reliever ?? ;-)

  • Haha Graham is my cousin! haha, from my grandmother's side.

  • @21KatieRose Hein ? You're lucky, lucky a lot ;-)

I like this man, since years. Tell him "hello" from a french fan who is now in Canada, and who is too an ex- sound technician. Have a nice and great journey.

  • @21KatieRose , hey, just tryin to figure out whom you are. my dad is Joe, Grahams brother.

  • Lol I never get tired of this clip. Thanks

  • Thanks for posting this, in all the interviews I have ever seen he seems like he has a great sence of humor, I would love to just have a beer with him and hear the life stories he has, I am sure we could all learn something frome this man, he's a great actor, and a sexy man to boot, his wife is a very lucky women, I love all of the native americans I think they got the short stick in life this is their land. thank your for all your movies and all your work you have done, I love this he is great

  • LOl

  • me not think funny

  • I love Graham Greene. Excellent parody.

  • All you Graham Greene lovers, and I'm one of them, GG was working on drama production sets in Toronto doing the lights and stuff when one of the producers strong armed him into acting, he went on kicking and screaming..... and the rest is history.

  • I agree wholeheartedly with every word in your description.

  • Check out Native American Comedy @ TheRez2Rez.. Support your fellow indians.. Enjoy and Laugh

  • this is funny unlike the flute playing of david white cloud burkhart, now that's bad.

  • LOL...cool video...Love Graham Greene........That man can always bring a smile to my face. Thank You for posting!

  • AHHH!!! LMAO!!! "Ab-Original"! That's funny. ^.^

  • Ol' Graham, I just remembered he's a friend of my parents. He sure luvs us creeks down here.

  • When I was a kid I would see Graham Greene on the Red Green Show, but I didn't really kno much about him till tonight in my History on Film Class. I'm watching him rght now in Clearcutting (1993). He is an incredibly talented actor, I definetly recommend it!

Regarding this video it was neat to see him in such a comical role.

  • Good video.

I don't know tons about the way you live but doesn't the word Native American become meaningless when there is so little cultural or ethnical connection?

I don't mean to disrespect. And I'd really like to hear your take on this.

  • "Take the headdress OFF." HAHAHA I LOVE IT.

  • lol, that was great

    good explanation btw

unfortunately the blood quantom thing is used in New Zealand too

and it's a bollocks argument usually used here to undermine Maori rights

"well there's no full bloodied Maori left anyway" sort of thing (really odd considering every living person is full of blood ^^ )

    Thanks for sharing the vid

  • @Indianjaine I know I'm full of blood and when I get stuck on something it comes pouring out in great amounts XD

  • This is awesome and you are awesome for uploading it.

  • @lyndonb5 lol pony.

  • OMG! That was funny. I love Graham Green.

  • I totally hate when whites say they're Cherokee, shit I'm mainly Lakota but Im 1/16 Cherokee so suck it!

  • @1944ACE1944 What if they actually do have Cherokee ancestry?..

  • lol - I love RMR AND Graham Greene :o) so funny.

  • lmfaoooo!! FINALLY... fuck, i hate when ppl think all Native ppl walk around in head dresses all the time. xD

    this is funny as balls.

  • Thanks for the laugh... only certain people can appreciate this, and I'm one of 'em.

  • omg. i was saying that in my head before Graham said it. to take the head dress off!

  • hilarious!

  • This is so awesome.

  • I love Graham Greene. This is effing hilarious.

  • This isn't funny.

  • "take the head dress off!" lol!

  • ROFL!!!!!! Wow!

  • Only in USA does the government tell us if we can be an NDN or not - ugh is right! Well said! Wado

  • Hilarious.

Don't feel too bad Dr Greene.

You could be a Mountie with Micky Mouse ears instead of a hat.

The Canadian "Liberal" Government sold the rights to the "Red Serge" mounted police uniform to Disney.

Now the Cops have to pay Disney royalties whenever they wear it, no shit.

  • @Conan568 Old news and incorrect implication. That contract expired 10 years ago. It was in effect for 5 years. The RCMP received royalties for RCMP branded products and paid Disney to market and license the products. After the contract expired, the RCMP took those functions in-house.

  • @Conan568 LOL now that is just strange.

  • Thanks for your description. it is nice to hear someone thinks the way that you do. When searching for my identity I found out so much from elders (born at the turn of the 20th century) on their deathbeds. They had hidden their Native Am heritage but didn't want to die without telling about it. I have tried to honor them by finding out as much as I can in the face of many wannabe finger pointers. Your viewpoint is refreshing. I'm not looking for a "handout" (like there are any) just my heritage.

  • LOL I love this.

  • GO U MR CRABBY TREE I LOVE U !

  • Classic!

  • The punching power of comedy. Nice one! :oD

  • Holy Cow, Rick Mercer LOL

  • Graham Greene - one of the most talented actors.. yet, I found no interview of him on Youtube.. so, that is just one of the most weird things, i guess

  • Graham Greene... one of the greatest actors in the history...

  • It's so obscene that Native Americans are still ignored and neglected by society and government. These were the first people here, and we owe them SO MUCH. I mean seriously, NO ONE should have a lifespan of 50 in a freaking first-world country! It's time we took action!

  • @Kemonokami I find it obscene that the US Govt. can point the Righteous Finger at other countries & accuse them of inhumanity & social injustice from behind a facade of Moral Crusader. Perhaps they'd be better sorting out their own backyard first. Give those whose lives, culture and spirit have shaped this nation their humanity back.

  • i read your info at the side of this video...and it is very true...my great grandfather was Cherokee and i get questionable looks when i tell people this because I am very fair and blonde...my mom actually looks native american...people used to ask her if she was my babysitter(lol)...anyway I was always taught to be proud of my heritage. My family has always considered it a point of pride. It is terrible all the stereotypes that are out there...

  • EDGAR!!!! :D

  • there's a song called 'graham greene' by John Cale, he's "shooting down all of the people where they stand" in the lyrics too. what a co-in-key-dink!

  • looooool

  • Take the headdress off!

  • thats funny shit.

  • My favorite part was "take the headdress off."

  • my uncle :)

  • "Thunderheart"!

  • My favourite indian in Dance with Wolves movie

  • that's my uncle eh!!!!

  • Heh.. I drink with Graham's brother Joe all the time. He is such a cool gentleman.

  • @jherikurl hey, you know my dad, Joe? this is his daughter Raeanne

  • @Goblyn666 : Hahaha.. Hi Raeanne. Small world. How is the cat we gave you (AKA Musket)? LOL. I think you will know who I am now. And yeah.. I like your dad Joe. He seems really smart and humble. I've had lot's of great conversations with him at the Norfolk or Angelo's. Take care of yourself.

  • @jherikurl Graham greene is my uncle. Where do you drink with Joe i wish i could meet them. My mom was adopted off the reservation they were on and ive never got the chance to meet any of her relatives except her adopted ones. It would be awesome to meet them her biological family.

  • @huskerkid77 : He lives in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. You can find him at the Norfolk Tavern or Angelo's on most weekend nights. Trust me.. You will know who he is when you see him.

  • Ugh You're description was Amazing! I am Half Ojibwe and I feel so proud of it my life revolves around the culture. Thank you for such great words.

  • Thank you for the compliments. I'm happy that my words have touched someone.

  • That's classic !

  • XD " Take the headress OFF" I LOVE THAT !! XD

  • I have no idea how many times I've watched this video I give it a 5 star rating everytime! Graham Greene reminds of grandfather so much.

  • I appreciate all your commentary in the description of the video. The words helped ease some of my fears of being accepted. I am so far removed from the Cherokee nation. The history on my Cherokee grandmother (by marriage to a French Canadian man) was not kept in the 1800's. The woman (given the name of Anna) refused to let census workers on her land. I have no way of finding any information now that my maternal & paternal elders are gone. I wish to be accepted into a Cherokee family.

  • Just so folks know...this is not Graham Greene's youtube station or userid. I'm not affiliated with him in any way. But thank you for the recent comments on what I wrote in the info section for this video.

  • I read your description to the right John and after getting very emotional I decided I'd just give the vid FIVE stars and ask you to thank your Aunt from me. Ya don't have to wonder about my user name :o) You take care my brother and have a great night, you're always working so hard that I'm sure you can use it.

    Best Always, Ta

  • LOL! Thanks for sending this, John! Graham Greene is the greatest!

  • that was great

    thanks for share John

  • Thank you John for sending me this video..read the info section..one day i fall on a hard discussion on Yt and it disturbed me to see how people were talking about percentage of blood..and i went away...it always put a sort of fight and divide people..am french but i am a spirit in a body ..same spirituality ..thank you Graham and excuse me for my english maybe..

    Many Blessings..Bfd

  • Graham is dressed as the bussiness man selling native Doc Greens pain cream saying Canadian actors, don't use native symbols for profitable gain,"take the head dress off" he's killing the native actor cause he's dressed as an Indian~crazy and funny man

  • LMAO

  • Love it. LOL . Way to go Graham. See ya at ding bats. lol.

  • This was great! (smile)

    Thank you Sweet Cheeks. (wink)

  • i loved this. i also loved the info section and could not agree with you more OP. i find it shameful that some Lakota brothers and sisters would call people "half-breeds" among other things. our blood is all the same. everyone needs to go watch pushthelimit's channel. he makes an excellent point about white black red and yellow.

  • Not all Lakota use that expression, half breed. In fact I know very few who do.

  • Funny! I loved it.

  • too funny! loved it.

  • Great!

  • Muaahaahaa - love it! :D

  • lol

  • Happy Birthday Graham!

  • Thanks Graham!!!!!!

  • fantastic,! :D:D:D

  • Love it!!!!! Thanks Graham!

  • omg!!!! hes my uncle (: i met him a few times before but we live in different places so i dont see him very often. Love you uncle Graham!

  • Very good work. Hey Graham, I think the second time you got him with your arrow I think you shoulda got him in his you know what.

  • Harry Clearwater!!!!!!! New Moon...

  • Mr Greene did with comedy here what needed to be said. Its amazing how serious we can take things and never get the message but a little humor goes a long way. The Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians should beware. Mr Greene may be hunting you LOL

  • Love Graham Greene!

  • funny!

  • THIS was the FUNNIEST F'en commercial I've ever seen in MY LIFE!!!! LOL.

  • FYI for future posters: saying that something is "gay" with the intention of meaning that it is bad or stupid will result in removal of your post.

Again, if you're going to post, read the expanded message under "more info."

  • @phoenixpa People REALLY need to stop using that phrase. It annoys me to no end.

  • Graham rocked the house in Die Hard with a Vengeance

  • LOL...I love the Rick Mercer Report. It's an awesome show makes me laugh all the time. Thanks for sharing this, laughing at ourselves is the best laugh there is.

  • This is hilarious.........LMAO

  • O, this is s funny!

  • WTF?!

  • haha thats funny.... what show was that??

  • It's from the Rick Mercer Report. Unfortunately, you can't watch it in the states, except for a few clips on the website.

  • hilarious

  • Loved Graham since Maverick. This is a great bit.

  • Just plain funny

  • I felt I needed to respond to some of the comments that have been made here recently. However, youtube institutes a character limit for comments, and what I had to say was going to take much more than 500 characters. To that purpose, I have added my own comments to the information section for this video. You can read them by clicking on the "more info" link. Please take the time to read these comments before posting on this wall.

  • I left a comment here about my lost heritage and I have labeled as a wannabe. O, I have many names from those without understanding. It is possible to hear stories about your ancestors and still not know who they are. It is possible that by the mixing of blood you are lost to your true roots. Wannabe? Maybe, maybe. But those who would stick labels on people they do not know are devoid of wisdom and their tongues are forked. Peace!

  • Forked tongue?! You've been watching too many old westerns stereotyping Native Americans. Interesting comment from a wannabe to a full blood, enrolled Cherokee. You have accused me of labeling you without knowing you when you have done the same to me. I'm not lacking in wisdom - I'm just sick and tired of people claiming to be Cherokee when they are not. By your own words you are only 1/8 American Indian at best. That is less than the amount needed for you to be considered Cherokee.

  • BTYW, I responded to hardtlion's comment because the initial comment to his posting was left by one of my cousins. He is Oklahoma Cherokee due to the split caused by the Removal (Trail of Tears). He asked me to post the comment he wrote because he was called away to fight a wildfire.

  • Oops! Shopuld be BTW not BTYW.

  • Second oops! Should be should not shopuld.

  • haha, on my rez, ALL the wannabes comming in to find "spiritual guidence" claim to have a Cherokee Princess for a great great grandmother. I am began to believe that the Cherokee were a band of wild amazons lost on the wrong continent who would only marry white men. Its refreshing to hear from a REAL one every now and then. :)As for the blood quantum thing, I think its stupid, Just another way to kill us off.our ancestors love all of their descendants, not just those of us with more "blood".

  • maryamatr Hey I'm a mixed blooded Tsalagi I look white but I still have native blood within me and I'm proud. And no my great great grandmother was not a Cherokee Princess I find it very damn funny when that is brought up. cause even the name chief is a white man name.

  • re-read my comment. I was actually responding to something a person wrote earlier. I too am mixed. I was suporting mixed blood people. and I was being sarcastic about the cherokee thing.

  • Ha, us Sami are almost genetically the same, have almost the exact same religious beliefs, we also communicate with spirit, are the aborigionals of Europe, and still white

  • @maryamatr

you know Graham Greene was born on the six nations reserve in Canada as an Oneida Iroquois not Cherokee right?

  • @maryamatr I have heard that "Indian Princess" was an affectionate term used by white during a certain period of history. I have Cherokee ancestry and was always told so...my grandfather's grandmother was still alive when I was very young and she was Cherokee, so it is not a mythology. There are a lot of people who are really of Cherokee descent, because there were many reaons that people intermarried, left the rolls or reservation and tried to live as whites.

  • @lostindianchick "Cherokee Princess" was a term white people used to make their Cherokee ancestry sound more "dignified." The only Cherokee Princesses are the ones in powwow beauty pageants. Educate yourself.

Anyway, why do people always bring in "The Cherokee Factor" on every NDN video? I'm proud of my Cherokee ancestors, but I don't go waving it around like a banner! Jeez!

  • @maryamatr I have Cherokee ancestry and was always told so. My grandfather's grandmother was still alive when I was very young and she was Cherokee, so it is not a mythology. There are a lot of people who are really of Cherokee descent, because there were many reaons that people intermarried, left the rolls or reservation and tried to live as whites. However, many traditional values were maintained and passed on. I have passed those things of my culture on to my children as well.

  • @lostindianchick if the last person in your family to be Cherokee was your grandfather's grandmother, this does not make you Cherokee, this makes you an Indian Wannabe. Do not insult actual natives

  • @mangolilac blood quantum is not the only thing that makes culture, and it is pretty hard to count or prove, anyway. I am not insulting "actual" natives to say that I was raised with native values and culture in a family that was descended from Cherokee people, as well as living with and marrying into other native groups. If family stories of the Trail of Tears were passed down to me by my grandparents, how are they not "my" ancestry?

  • Thanks for posting the video, phoenixpa! The video is very funny but also right about non-aboriginal people taking that is not theirs. I am Eastern Cherokee/Catawba and resent having my culture and traditions misappropriated by wannabes and others, such as the Boy Scouts (e.g., Order of the Arrow, Eagle Scouts, pretending to be American Indian and dancing at pow-wows, etc.).

  • Oops! The second sentence should say taking what is not thiers instead of taking that is not theirs.

  • my heritage is lost because my Cherokee great-grandmother was taken from her people. She eventually became the wife of a norwegian born man. One side of my family hated Native Americans just as people hate today, for no reason. The other side of my family passed down a rich oral history of the Cherokee people. I feel cheated because in my heart, I know I have roots in the people but I don't know who my people really are. Though my heart is sad, I know that one day my joy will be fulfilled. Peace

  • Watch the koe81984 Charlie Hill video beginning at 4:09. How could your family pass down "a rich oral history of the Cherokee people" if you don't know who your people really are and only know in your heart that you are Cherokee. Those of us who are Cherokee (enrolled and/or can support a claim to be Cherokee) have little patience with wannabes. Its ironic that you chose to post your comment on a video about people taking what is not theirs and trying to be something they are not.

  • Graham Greene for president!!! 2008!!!!!

  • Brilliant.

  • Go Graham!

  • This is funny. Arrow right in the back, effin new agers anyway! LOL

  • Iam dutch, but I love this joke, graham greene has always jokes, i like it a lot.

  • I am Lakota as well and this is funny.

  • I am about as caucasian as they come, but I think this is freakin brilliant.

  • This is not intended to piss anyone off, but don't you think that any time two different cultures come into contact, there will be influences moving in both directions? I know there are many books written about the cultural influences of Native American culture on mainstream America, from the food we eat to the organization of the US government. I'm in China where I see many people wearing Christian crosses, some because of faith but most for fashion only. Should I resent this?

  • Oh, come on. The relationship between Chinese (which ethnicity, anyway?) and non-Chinese Christians is NOTHING like the relationship between white America and the Lakota, or any other Native tribe here. Can we compare apples with apples, please? Would the Mongols like it if you appropriated their culture, for instance, in a disrespectful way?

  • So are you saying there's a difference between appropriating "in a disrespectful way" and cultural borrowing? When someone takes another culture's religious symbol and turns it into a mere fashion statement, isn't that disrespect? I'm only saying that whenever cultures come together, mixing is bound to occur. A Native American Christian minister I heard referred to Jesus as a "vision quester." I'm only saying that sometimes it's a fine line between appropriating and integrating.

  • Cultures will inevitably mix. Its probably a biological and social comlusion more han anything else. The best way to avoid conflcit is by intermarriage. Pack animals like Lions and Gorillas sneak off and mate with outside males to decrease the chances of their offspring being killed by the "outsider" should the balance of power shift. From Kingdoms to the Mafia, arranged marriages were promoted to ensure peace.

People are compelled to adopt anything that increases 'security'

  • Same reason that people embrace tyrants and 'strong men' when they're scared. The majority of us can't see beyond our present circumstances, especially when scared -- there's actually scientific evidence that anxiety/fear causes our 'neuro-pathways' to constrict, which means less access to memory. Less access to long -term memory & thinking power = more tendency towards fight/flight.

People are compelled to seek 'security', whether its adopting seemingly superior customs, or yadda yadda..

  • Yes, this is from the Rick Mercer report. My aunt who lives on our rez in Munsee sent this to my father and I. Yes, Graham Greene is not Lakota. The title of the file my aunt sent said "Lakota spoof," which I think was just a mis-type of the word Lakona (the first fake product named in the commercial). I was just too lazy to change the spelling from what she had typed.

  • The guy getting shot is Rick Mercer. So it is probably the Mercer Report. Too recent for it to be Rick Mercer on 22 Minutes.

  • LMAO this is brilliant.

  • Me too I LOVE Graham Greene sooooooo much. He my favorite celeb. I love him.

  • thats funnie, Dr.Greene.

    classic.

  • That looks like a good idea, thanks Graham!lol

  • I am Lakota and I find this so funny. It's a lil bit of an inside joke but this is a good one.

  • good stuff....respect to my fellow siouan brothers and sisters.

  • green is a good actor does he still acT?

  • sorry i am no lakota i swe but i now a sight
