Im sure this was great vocally on Durbins part but the truth and emotion, that can really only conveyed by the artist was major lacking. Its not even his fault, but these are some pretty big shoes to fill and I don't think its possible to actually fill them, so I will take the diplomatic answer and say, good effort. I can see someone loving this if they were not previous fans of muse, but i cant imagine true fans to find the truth in this performance. Let me know if you disagree though.

This was truly a masterpiece. James basically took an electro-pop song and turned it into a rock opera. This was the most difficult piece of the entire season and he nailed all those advanced techniques perfectly, and that is why he is the best vocalist of AI10 and possibly ever in AI history. To sing repeated notes in the lower register in pitch to a driving beat is extremely difficult. And to sing a phrase up the high F (vocal fry) then down and repeat it again is almost impossible to do!

Seriously great vocal performance and performance art combined!!! James knows how to make his vision come alive, not just with his voice and the band, but with his staging and special effects. But then, he can turn it around and perform with a "less is more" approach as well.
