Wow! They were giving it some wellie through there! Even set off the car alarm! lol. Do the steamers regularly go full pelt through Andover station? So long as theres nothing ahead to slow it down?
34092 was recorded at 92mph during some trial run in the late 80s - it was also chased for a while by a pair of 33s running alongside it with some video equipment - hellfire!
well, one coach faster I reckon - the 11 of 34067 covering the distance in the same time as the 10 pulled by 73096 - so 78 mph? left me reeling though!
Aww! Just magic! I lived in New Milton in the sixties. Bulleid Pacifics 'blowing up' through the station was just another backdrop to life.

Very impressive video.
Interesting to see that the remains of the M&SWJR still seem to be in use.

Impressive indeed.
The remaining bit of the M&SWJR extends to Ludgershall camp; see Google Earth.

There's nothing quite like the sight and sound of a spamcan in a hurry!

I think this is the quickest I've seen a steam train run in the preservation era.

Yes - and 33s were only supposed to do 85mph max!
