I think that the final cut level designer decided to have the frog switch placed at the beginning of the level at the last minute to make the stage more challenging. But because it was a last minute move they didn't take the music out. Not that it mattered anyway.
to be fairly honest, I'm sort of glad this went unused. this is such a boring tune compared to the rest of the OST. and given how long the golden passage is I wouldn't have been able to play it without the hurry up music.
Oh!!! I remember this!!! I was hacking like a bossO.o and i stumbled upon not stumbling upon the frog switch!!! I remember a memorious piece of my past now... Thanks to you!!!
yeah it is kind of weird but i think it was still a good decision to put the frog switch at the beginning, it makes the level so much more epic. and the music is more epic too. maybe they shoulda used it at another part of the game
This sounds like the map music you hear when you reveal the Golden Pyramid. Thus, it's not unused, and it's not the music for the Golden Passage, either, technically. Though, it could be that perhaps they originally planned for this music to play during the Golden Passage, but changed their minds at the last minute and never bothered to remove the music?
it's almost a crime that they went to the trouble of composing this, but used it in a stage where you hit the frog switch automatically and almost immediately. whoever composed this deserves some karmic reward.
Actually, this is used. However, you aren't able to hear it, since when you enter the level, you immediatly press the switch down. If I recall correctly (I haven't played the game for years ._.), if you pause the game just at the time you jump on the switch, the time attack music won't play and you still hear the level music.
@DiamondPhoenix000 Probably as a placeholder to prevent the game from crashing; I'm assuming that each level requires music to function in the game engine, but said music doesn't have to play for very long, if at all.
Or, the developers were intending to make the Golden Passage like a regular level with no switch right at the portal. They may have simply neglected to remove the music from the final release.
@BanjoSonic Then it's probably just left in there because they wanted to make the Golden Passage a normal level, but decided not to; they simply forgot to remove the music, or couldn't do so because of time restraints.
@mocgames998 You can also use Gameshark for GBA, hold the moon jump button, and stay that way. It's only "impossible" to listen to because you immediately fall on the thing that activates the timer.

Nintendo did not have golden passage music because they put the timer RIGHT WHERE YOU START!!!
chaoschao455 2 years ago
@chaoschao455 actually they did.

We would be able to hear this music if the creators put the frog timer a bit to the right and then a frog bricks wall

@MatthewPZC Actually, this does play in that stage. Unfortunately, as soon as the song begins, Wario hits the switch...

I wish there was a released beta for Wario Land 4. That way we could see the beta of this level and find out how this track was meant to be used.

I Used Action Replay To Keep Wario In The Air And Used VBA's WAV Recorder to record the unused music.

@mocgames998 Why did they make a music if they knew that you're gonna hit the switch right away anyway?
