wait, what do you mean the elevator is public. Freight elevators are usually only for freight handlers and staff.
Also the doors of this elevator are not powered, so you have to manually open the doors.

I've lifted doors like those, they are pretty heavy.
Except when I opened an inner gate, it must have been just oiled or something because it was really easy to slide.

Capacity is 4000 lbs. The elevator is from either the 1950's or the 1960's.
