The "spray" coming out of the wing tips is a fuel dump. All planes wave a max takeoff weight and max landing weight. If a plane has to land before it has use up enough fuel to get below it's max landing weight then it has to circle and burn it off or dump the fuel. The landing gear can only handle so much weight on landing, the added stress can make them collapse. Here are a couple you can find a lot more of them if you do a search.

Fuel being dumped into the air by a plane flying at over 100 MPH will look like smoke. Think about how much mist is created by a spray bottle, then imagine 10,000 gallons of a liquid turned into a mist and a plane that has to dump fuel and land would not stay on a commercial flight path getting in the way of other planes. The fuel is mostly kerosine and it evaporates before hitting the ground.

I have seen those weatherman videos and they say it is chaff. Chaff is not an aerosol, it is strips of metal that spread out in the air to confuse the radar of missiles. Here is a photo of it.

A lot of proposals have been made on how to try and control global warming and that is just one of them. The problem with that proposal is that the elements would also reflect sun rays, that would be going back into space, back down to the ground reducing its effectiveness.

I have a view of Mt Rainier and a couple times a year if there are high clouds and the sun rises right behind the mountain I can see a massive projected shadow. Some of them are pretty intense. Any mountain peak at sunrise or sunset when there are high altitude clouds will cause a beam like shadow.

I have seen anti-crepuscular rays twice. They dont look like this. They look like several lines of blue, radiating from a single point on the horizon. They are usually seen in the east at sunset, just opposite the setting sun. Imagine if a child drew a sunset, with the rays coming out of it, getting gradually wider - only blue. That's how they look. Anti crepuscular rays cover the whole eastern view of the sky.

Contrails start and stop for many different reasons, none of them have to do with anybody turning them on and off. Some of the reasons why contrails start, stop, and how long it persist depends on humidity level, altitude, temperature, air pressure, the stability of the air.
Newer jet engines produce more water vapor creating more contrails.

You cannot tell how high a plane is just by looking at it from the ground, look at the clouds and you will see that you can still see the details of the clouds when the higher plane flies over them but the details of the clouds are blocked by the lower plane. Planes are required to be 1,000 feet apart vertically and 3 miles horizontally by FAA regulations.

One plane is flying over the clouds and one is under the clouds and both of them are leaving contrails. The plane at the end of the video stops leaving a contrail because it leaves the humid patch of air that caused the cloud to form in the first place.

@going4u2 One plane will fly along the flight path leaving a persistent contrail that will drift over just like all other clouds drift. When the next plane flies along the same flight path it will create a parallel contrail so when two major flight paths intersect the crisscross patterns are formed.

The "spray" coming out of the wing tips is a fuel dump. All planes wave a max takeoff weight and max landing weight. If a plane has to land before it has use up enough fuel to get below it's max landing weight then it has to circle and burn it off or dump the fuel. The landing gear can only handle so much weight on landing, the added stress can make them collapse. Here are a couple you can find a lot more of them if you do a search.

Fuel being dumped into the air by a plane flying at over 100 MPH will look like smoke. Think about how much mist is created by a spray bottle, then imagine 10,000 gallons of a liquid turned into a mist and a plane that has to dump fuel and land would not stay on a commercial flight path getting in the way of other planes. The fuel is mostly kerosine and it evaporates before hitting the ground.

@itchy8me Aluminum is the most abundant element on Earth so finding it anywhere is not a big thing, ground sources pump out tons of pollution everyday including heavy metals. Coal fired power plants even put out mercury.
I have seen those weatherman videos and they say it is chaff. Chaff is not an aerosol, it is strips of metal that spread out in the air to confuse the radar of missiles. Here is a photo of it.

I have seen a similar phenomenon last year. Pretty cool with the shadows in the sky. Basically how it works is similar to those disco-lights or that ray on top of that las Vegas pyramid or the batman - signaling beam. The sun is the light source and something - a mountain usually - is standing in the way. So it is a shadowplay in the sky. Fascinating. Just the first part of the video is not good - there are so many interferences in the image.

I have a view of Mt Rainier and a couple times a year if there are high clouds and the sun rises right behind the mountain I can see a massive projected shadow. Some of them are pretty intense. Any mountain peak at sunrise or sunset when there are high altitude clouds will cause a beam like shadow.

I have seen anti-crepuscular rays twice. They dont look like this. They look like several lines of blue, radiating from a single point on the horizon. They are usually seen in the east at sunset, just opposite the setting sun. Imagine if a child drew a sunset, with the rays coming out of it, getting gradually wider - only blue. That's how they look. Anti crepuscular rays cover the whole eastern view of the sky.

They are called Crepuscular Rays.
They often occur late afternoon-sunset-twilight when clouds on the distant horizon casts a long shadow.
Another example is during the late afternoon when the sun is directly behind cumulus, casting 'heavenly' looking rays of light through atmospheric haze / moisture. :)

I have seen this in erie, pa before. This summer I saw one but it was cloud cover, with two very distinct different cloud colors, one a very dark grey/blue and the other a very pale grey. the part in the middle was an empty sliver of blue sky, a wave shaped barrier between the clouds going on as far as we could see. It was very ominous feeling, well I guess thats Erie.

Contrails start and stop for many different reasons, none of them have to do with anybody turning them on and off. Some of the reasons why contrails start, stop, and how long it persist depends on humidity level, altitude, temperature, air pressure, the stability of the air.
Newer jet engines produce more water vapor creating more contrails.

@SprayOClockNews That one is very easy to explain. The one jet is flying above the clouds so they block the view of contrail. The other plane is flying below the clouds so it contrails are always visible.
Come up with a better challenge, that one is pathetic!

@SprayOClockNews The reason the contrail from the one plane stops is because it leaves the humid spot of air that caused the cloud to form in the first place. Notice it stops when it gets away from the cloud.

@SprayOClockNews They are not at the same altitude. You cannot tell how high a plane is just by looking at it from the ground, look at the clouds and you will see that you can still see the details of the clouds when the higher plane flies over them but the details of the clouds are blocked by the lower plane. Planes are required to be 1,000 feet apart vertically and 3 miles horizontally by FAA regulations.

The plane at the end of the video stops leaving a contrail because it leaves the humid patch of air that caused the cloud to form in the first place.

Tons more pollution is pumped into the air from the ground everyday than from jets. I am sure you drive a car, start it up and stand behind it for awhile then multiply that by billions of cars on the road everyday. Passenger jets leave persistent contrails and they do not have enough room left to store chemicals to spray leaving trails that are miles long, the military does not have enough planes to fly around leaving all the trails we see all over the world everyday, and aliens are not spraying us either.

@SprayOClockNews Here is a video of a contrail over Berlin. You can see when the camera zooms in at the end that the planes is a clearly marked passenger jet. The fact that the trail starts far behind the engines proves it is a contrail and not something being sprayed!

@going4u2 One plane will fly along the flight path leaving a persistent contrail that will drift over just like all other clouds drift. When the next plane flies along the same flight path it will create a parallel contrail so when two major flight paths intersect the crisscross patterns are formed.
