@meebot He didn't take over the show in MJ's concerts. It was a part of the show done intentionally. Check each different gigs, it's all the same. Slash acts like he doesn't want to leave the stage, MJ calls the security guy and stuff. It's SHOW. Damn, people love to hate really. Do not talk if you don't know and it's "at least" not "at lease".
slash solo was like wahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwah...............
@MrKevT1 THUMBS UP! Slash knows 4 licks and plays them all with a distortion pedal through a marshall stack stomping every note to death with that shitty wah wah pedal. Probably the most overated guitar player EVER.
I don't know what people are complaining about I think slash fit in quite well. I think it kind of enhanced it a bit not saying that he made it better or anything like that but he certainly rocked it. Just saying that his solo sounds just fine and fit in just fine.
Amazing performance. Bit skepticle of the solo though. What he played was great but too much distortion and too loud. Hate to say it but lead guitar is the least common instrument in Funk, its all about the rhythm. In Rock the rhythm guitar isn't important but in Funk its way more important than lead guitar. Any lead/solo probably comes from a keyboard of sorts, or a sax. Lead guitar in Funk has to be clean.
I'm a little undecided on Slash's solo. We all know Slash can shred, and he definitely held back here.. that shows he has respect for the music. I think the distortion was a bit much, but Slash still has to represent himself somehow.
Nile Rodgers is the (i think only) guitarrist to change FROM a Stratocaster(late 80's early 90's) to Les Paul... many guitarrist changed too, but the other way... (Pete towshend, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix etc etc)
Stratos are great for blues, good for rock and perfect for funk, Les Paul is perfect for almost everything. Every sound, sounds excellent in a Les Paul, but not all sounds, sounds good on a Strato.
That's not true, they're both great for certain sounds. You can't get the same sound out of a Les Paul that you can from a Strat. Goes both ways. That's why I own a Les Paul standard and an american Strat :)
maybe hes mad, some people play better when they're mad or sad because they can just get on stage and vent by playing guitar, which is really fucking fun if i do say so myself.
