I LOVE David's playing but I have to agree with Bigbill about the hype that seems to surround David, whether he creates it or not. Just as one example of many, if you look at the video above, it bears the words "a new era has begun." That's just plain baloney. There are a host of great fingerpickers out there carrying on Chet's legacy. David is one of them, to be sure, but hardly the only one, nor is he superior to all the others. He and his supporters ought to tone it down a little bit.

The Liberace of Guitar! Yes, he has the pieces down, but there are dozens, maybe hundreds, of guitarists who can play this stuff just as well and with a lot more soul. Check out the the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) site.The pompous intro to this schmaltzy video would make the world class (they literally tour the world) performers at this annual event laugh..or something. Search for: Thom Bresh (son or Merle Travis), Buster B. Jones or Tommy Emmanuel for starters.

david have listened to a lot of guitarist over the last year. don*t know what all the big disputes and fuss is about. if all of those people could do as much with their hands as they do when they talk l listen and listen but they just don*t get the sound and tone quality you do, to say simply you could sit down and play with anyone at any time or any place; I have only been to 3 chet festivals but very few there and on youtube sound like you. still listening roger and charlotte.

It would be so hard for me to not be arrogant if I possessed the talent that this man has.

In my opinion David handles himself on stage Brilliantly and with no sign of conceit... I practice everyday and have for over 45 years.... if I could just get close to this I would die a happy man.

When I hear David play this song its' scary! Chet played Snowbird live many times, and this sounds the same in every way! The way( they) attack a note, the feel, the sound is actually little better, but with a slightly different interruption with makes this the best Snowbird tribute I've heard for Chet.I live in Nashville and have heard many people play it nobody does this good!! Chet would agree! I heard David Paul's name talk about in Nashville allot now I'm starting to know why! Go David !

David has been given the title of Maestro by the public and the press, not me and I know for sure that David does not believe he is the greatest thing to ever grace the stage with his presence. There are a lot of great pickers out there who my be better than David. He just happens to be my favorite and in my opinion, the best at what he does. Thanks for the comment. Hi bigbill.I would always agree with you on that one,, David has heard about it and hates it.David said in a interveiw that he's not a Maestro or the greastest,but people say things like that about him.He is very humble person and is always trying to get better as a player...again David Paul does not do any promoting of himself! David doesn't want to be a clone and has written many originals, but I must say it has a Chet flavor to alot of it!After all when you play that style who do you really think of? CHET! David Paul has gone on to sound more like himself in many ways..He can't be posted on the Chetboard and when he is on breifly people know right away who it is and its' not even Chet song! tks......Amy any comments?

Way to many Chet clones with no guitar personality.Tommy and Doyle would burn this tune like chet then add themselves in the mix .Not to many fingerstyle players can say that about themselves.
