  • you can go to costco and buy about $50 in bulk food to make it through the month... trust me I do it... bulk frozen veggies... all organic even... imagine that... local eggs and milk and your good... then you can save...

  • If you cant make it, then do something else with your life. My husband grew up poor with a single working mom in a bad part of town. He worked his way though college and joinedROTC.Now he is a UH-60 pilot, with 3 advanced degree’s in aviation technology. If you are poor,EDUCATE YOUR SELF,DON’T HAVE KIDS, STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.People’s decisions are what make them poor. Minimum wedge was never meant to live on permanently or raise a family on. If your parents are poor you dont have to be also!

  • @greetingsearthlings1 That's what happens when you put libs in charge of anything. The poor get an entitlement mentality and don't do jack shit to improve themselves, because the government will take care of them.

  • THE IDEA OF PAYING A LIVING WAGE SHOULD BE LAW ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIABLE TO LIVE OFF OF 7;25 PER HR AND ITS HARD TO GET 40 HRS ITS ALL ABOUT QUALITY OF LIFE MINE THATS WHAT IS I CARE ABOUT

  • face it people no one can live off min wage unless they have a spouse or if they have more than one job or have a room mate thats the only way you can make it..my daughter had 4 roommates and she still couldnt make it just paying the basics..its a joke!!! 21 years ago you could make it, i'm proof of that but noone can make it now, no one!!!

  • In cont: He thought he could order me around. Plus these managers yelling at me right and left to do this and do that. I was disrespected and unappreciated. I did allot of work compared to fellow workers yet they were given the credit, not me. It was hell.

  • Yeah, the mean, rude and bossy managers make these types of jobs extremely difficult. So you get treated badly plus you don't get paid much; a double negative. Not good; not good at all. I'm glad I don't have to put up with their S__t anymore. And I once had to work with this 18 yr old whereas I was much older.

  • I don't know what is worse working for minimum wage or all the crap a worker has to put up with from these __ __ __ managers and even fellow employees not to mention customers. Well from my experience in the past the customers were much nicer to you then the fellow workers and especially the managers (these people make these jobs extremely difficult).

  • its 10.50$ in Canada now!

  • @leafkill9 $10.25 to be exact in the province of Ontario. I think USA could take a few lessons, seeing as here we don't pay for doctor visits or hospital stays for surgery.

  • @Hunnie028 hey i love living in Ontario, but theres still a lot of room for improvement, money is still being funneled left right and centre to interest groups

  • @leafkill9

When you see people in the US opposing the healthcare bill don't think its because they oppose State healthcare for everyone. That bill is a scam on everyone it covers illegals, people on welfare and all knds of special interests, guess who it doesn't cover, low wage workers and the middle class workers. It raises rates and taxes on these groups.

  • @wolftreetree The Bill should have had a public option, then the insurance companies wouldn't be able to jack anything up

  • @leafkill9

then it would have had more support

  • @Hunnie028 Tell it to the Govnt, it isn't up to us sadly, and I would move to Ontario in a heartbeat your country seems like they do things right, ours only knows how to cut food stamps, hike taxes and cut or lower pay in jobs, guess they like having poor people thats how the rich get richer, they take from us and were left out on the streets because of it. I have heard towns that have 5.15 an hour still and most people don't have running water there. America is scary to live in.

  • @Hunnie028 You just wait 6 months to see a doctor.

  • Education is the key to success. No matter how much debt you accumulate trying to get one, its priceless.

  • Many poor people are heavy because they tend to eat less expensive foods like pasta, potatos, rice...High carb meals.

    Carbs=Sugar.

  • Awful news. The best idea I could come up with is to have several generations in one house to pool resources.

I really hope things get better for them.

  • Overweight people saying that they are 'struggling to survive' probably doesn't do much for their case. If they can afford to eat enough calories to stay that overweight, then how can they argue that they're so hard done by?

  • healthy food is more expensive

have you ever noticeed how cheap top ramen is?

  • Have you noticed that coke is cheaper than milk? The incidence of obesity is always higher in poverty stricken areas, check the statistics.

  • This should be reposted everywhere you can. This is the reality of East Kentucky, it is getting better but not very fast. You either work in the mines or you move away to find goos work.

  • $5.00?! Thats really low. Here in California minimum wage is like $7.00 to $9.00.

  • GET A BETTER JOB

  • Get a better job...are you kidding? Imagine everyone in this country had a better job. Who would clean the bathrooms or pick up the trash you left in the park? Be a little more realistic, then just come around and say get a better job...we need someone to take the garbage every week, and we need to pay him a fair living wage not survival wage.

  • wow, kentucky has a low minimum wage...

    where I live I think it's 7.20 an hour

  • thx 4 the vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This needs to be seen by everyone. Thank you for this video!

  • I love the western accent!!

  • Points well made. Executed beautifully.
