Hey Melissa! I do a similar smoothie to your basic recipe but I add 1/2 cup of yogurt and milk which then gives me a serving of dairy as well. I also add silken tofu which makes it nice and creamy. I'm glad to see you do the oil thing too! I love sneaking in an oil there, sometimes it can be so hard to do. :)
Yeah for your weight loss! Thanks for the smoothie recipe I will be trying it and adding coconut oil for it's flavor and metaboism boosting properties.
i just started doing my green monster: 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk 40 cal (1pt) 2 cups fresh spinach, 1/2 banana, 1/2 apple and couple ice cubes.....good idea with oil!! i have a hard time getting that in thanks!! and congrats on your loss :o)
I make a green monster in my Magic Bullet every morning too!!! The majority of the time, my turn out purplish because of the berries as well. It's also really good with frozen peaches and mangoes. I usually add a vanilla protein powder and a drizzle of agave nectar and it is a very sweet taste but not too sweet. :) Good luck at this week's weigh-in!!
