Thanks to all who commented on the song, I believe in keeping the memory of the men and women who died for Ireland alive, least we forget. I have a great passion for Irish music and stories, I'm not a professional singer, not even an armature, just a novice guitar player with basic music skills and a half decent voice for the auld ballads.

Well, Catalpa, I think ye did a grand job on this song...one of my old favourites. Even though I am an old Stick, I respect the memory of all the brave Provos who died, and Billy Reid was one of the bravest. He was not a young man by the standards of the time for a Volunteer but he faced up to the Brits and held his ground. I remember the day he was killed just like it was yesterday.  May he rest in peace with all the rest of Ireland's heroes.

Its brill! newer version of an old classic,still I'd love to here the like of the wolfe tones/garry og-athenry at that we tune. I tell u the huns have the flute thing wrapped up but actuall music wise? they are pathetic-never heard hun music that has bass,bass guitar and all traditional/rock and roll bands making the charts playing for them
