apologeticsman, your arguments are so new testament based. has it not occurred to you that the new testament is not scripture. scripture is from the Torah. the new testament is a roman catholic invention. in a previous reply to one of your videos you called me ignorant and hateful because i criticized your apologetics. i do apologize for your apologetics. lighten up dude, i don't dislike or hate any believer no matter what the belief. i only object to turning Jews away from 'God and Torah.
I can prove the validity of the New testament and of the people in it far more readily and easily than you can prove that Moses existed, or Abraham, or Adam, or Isaac, or Jacob. The exodus has almost no historical backing, and that is the foundation of Judaism. The New testament was not created by the Catholic church, because the Catholic church was not in existence until almost 400 A.D. and because the New Testament does not teach Catholic Doctrines. I am not angry at you, just frustrated
@apologeticsman well my friend i appreciate your response but as usual were slightly out of step with one another. i maintain that the new testament was not official cannon until the council of nicea around 325 ce. as far as me proving anything from the old testament i don't view the stories as historical events but allegories used to teach spiritual principles. listen, i'm not saying that catholics wrote any books but they did chose which one to include and omit. anyway, always be blessed!
@babeCZar a Bible that claims to be historical and uses real names and places would be a lie if the events therein did not take place, and the people in it were not real. How can anyone base an entire faith and way of life on a fairytale? It is unconscionable to me to suggest that there was no Moses, no Abraham and no Jacob, as well as no exodus. The very fact that there are people who are called Jews who exist as both a race and a religious group is testimony to the reality of the Bible.
@babeCZar The New testament predates Roman Catholicism by about 300 years, and as such could not be a Catholic invention. The New Testament is simply the conclusion of what God was saying and doing in the "Torah" and the prophetic books, so on that I will stand.
@apologeticsman what's up buddy? good to hear from you! i agree with your statement that the books predate catholicism. i still maintain that there was no new testament until the books were selected by council. i guess were both correctly stating two different things. just the same, i do enjoy sharing thoughts with you. i have no disagreements on the quality of your responses. very nicely done my friend. anyway, may you always enjoy a loving relationship with the father. be blessed eternally!

True Judaism decrees "Thou shalt not murder" in the Torah. A fetus is a life yet in the beginning stage, so it still is a life! The problems the Jews face are spiritual, political and from lack of faith. Their liberalism, their denial of truth is through their ignorance because they don't know G-d and G-d has rejected them because of this. This is what you get when you practice apostasy.
The Torah was given to teach the Jews what to do not the non-Jews, can you explain why it should need to list the laws non-Jews need to follow?
5. Jews do believe in Hell (called Gehinom). We just don't think it is eternal since the Hebrew word used "forever" is "l'olam" which means "for world", however when the world is destroyed so will hell be.
6. So we follow the Talmud who speaks about Jesus but...we don't believe he existed? And would you repeat that one more time about how if Jesus would not have existed we would not have been exiled? You should be the Christian PR to Jews
"All the things they teach are designed to deny Christianity" Care to clarify?
7. Jews do believe Jesus existed (as mentioned in numerous sources) just that he was not the messiah or anyone important at all except in the harm that he did us.
I have met multiple Jews who claim Jesus is a construct of second century Catholic monks and never truly existed as a real human being on planet earth. They assert that he was made up from several elements of different polytheistic religions and that Paul was really an early catholic who penned lies to bring Jews away from the other Rabbis to his ideas. Again, the fact that you do not believe this only proves that you are in the minority.
@apologeticsman The fact that I believe this proves that I am informed. Maimonides already wrote about Jesus 800 years ago and that was a comment on the Talmud mentioning Jesus. so as I said many times, perhaps its time for you to bring you claims to someone who is informed and learned of classic Judaic literature before you continue to go off with your assumptions
85% of judaism was plagiarized from the Africans, Egyptians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians and the Greeks. Code of Hammurabi was posted at gathering places for ages prior to the ten commandments for example. The jewish patriarchs were all based on real egyptians such as Amenemhat>>Abraham, Tutmoses>>Moses and Imhotep>>David. The jews invented all of those bible characters in order to make the historical claim that judaism is the oldest monotheistic religion which is completely false.
No, that is absolutely unfounded and incorrect. You have been indoctrinated by some cult or false teaching obviously, and have little or no knowledge of history or Biblical archaeology. I suggest you get your facts from people who have spent years of their lives painstakingly researching this rather than from some Jew hater organization that just wants to make up fairy tales to discredit the Jews. I was referring to the falsehood of their theology and their denial of Jesus as Messiah
read on the internet the 2001 LA Times featured article "doubting the story of the exodus" in which famous scholarly jews such as rabbi David Wolpe and professor Ze'ev Herzog discussed how the "exodus" was only a jewish narrative and not a real historical event. The "exodus" hoax was jewish strategy to steal Egyptian land just the same as how the jews stole Palestine in 1948 with the "holocaust" hoax.
when investigations into the Exodus took place, it was revealed that the reason there was such sketchy evidence was that it was a common practice to remove all record of traitors & of shameful defeats in Egypt. Such an embarrassing thing as 2,000,000 slaves walking to freedom would have been wiped from all record, & those who spoke about it even in passing would have been killed. BTW, can you explain why there are chariot wheels at the bottom of the Red Sea, not just one or two, but many?
scientists figured out ages ago that the jews were never even inside sacred Egypt since there cannot be found even word in the Hebrew language that has Egyptian influence and not one word in the Egyptian language was influenced by the hebrews. The jews wrote that into the bible in order to slander the Egyptians as terrible people out of spite for never having been allowed to participate in Egyptian life. Ask any Egyption and they will educate you about why the jews told those lies.
BTW, the Ten commandments existed nearly 6 thousand years ago, and there were few tribal cultures that even had a written language at that time, so I honestly doubt they could even have been accused of plagiarizing them from another culture Why would a pagan culture post a commandment saying "I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me"?
so you are really out there with the 6,000 years ago claim. So you are probably one of those people who also claims that the reason why the story of Jesus so closely follows the previous gods Mithra and Horus is due to the Devil purposefully creating those previous gods because he knew the details of Jesus beforehand. hahaha.
the existence of the Jews, their country, & their temple wall that is about 3,000 years old is solid evidence that they did not just pop up out of nowhere. The Jews have been a nation off & on for well over 5,000 years, & as a matter of fact, they celebrate their version of the new year faithfully, & have always.
To invent Jesus, one would have to have lived precisely in the time that He was purported to have lived, because archaeology & literature from that time show that the NT authors lived during the time they were writing about, & must have, because their knowledge of the period was so exact. I could sit and draw parallels between many modern, and ancient people or mythological figures, that does not mean they are modeled after those ancient figures. Your conclusions are erroneous & poorly studied
the bible disciples never even encountered Jesus during his lifetime. Those devotees started to carry the message of Jesus decades after he was killed by the jews. Synagogues during that period were just public gathering places so the fact that Jesus occasionally spoke at synagogues does not indicate jewishness by any means. The lie about Jesus came from jewish heritage was spread to compromise and pollute his message. The jews attempted the same dirty ploy with Adolf Hitler but failed.
This coupled with the fact that the ten commandments, aside from possibly the first one are all moral absolutes that no other ancient culture abided by shows me that your claim is virtually void of any merit. Can you give detailed lists of facts that back up your claims? If so, I would like to see them.
I am not talking about what the Bible says, if Jews believed in the Bible as it is, they would believe in Jesus. I am referring to the traditions and religion known as rabbinic Judaism, which has no specific prohibition against abortion. Thou shalt not kill could mean to be a vegetarian too, but most Jews are not.
the jews who wrote the Bible screwed up royally with the words "I am the lord your God who delivered you from Egypt" because science has shown that the jews were never allowed inside sacred Egypt. The hebrew bible aimed to slander the Egyptians out of revenge for always disallowing jewish participation but now the "exodus" claims have been completely disproved just like most of the Bible. The Bible fabricators were far too ambitious to leave the words alone as just "I am the lord your God".
it is inspired by G-d at mount sinai, then G-d allowed Jews to dispute over it. One example to research is Beit Hillel vs Beit Shammai arguing about all of the Jewish laws in Sanhedrin in the Mishnah.
I agree that the Law of Moses, also known as the Torah was inspired by God, but what Jews seem to not get is that so was the covenant between God and Abraham inspired by God, and that covenant was eternal and included none of the 613 laws. Each covenant had a mediator, and the new covenant's mediator is Jesus, and the new covenant is the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham, that all the nations (Goyim) would be blessed.
I disagree. The fact is: the covenant did not include all the laws, but, as Rashi says, it goes deeper than that. G-d asks Abram to give his support to G-d, and as a reward his people were rewarded. I think you fail to see the importance of the Torah being given at Mount Sinai: that is the renewal of the covenant, with the promise of a future Messiah (not Jesus) and the acceptance of the Oral and Written torah.
It really doesn't matter whether or not Judism is or is not a false religion. There is no point in stating a theory purely in the purpose of raising ressistance to that theory. No big cataclysim will erupt on this planet just because a minor belief like Judism is false.
The irony is, Christianity is Judism. The only real difference is their "massiah" has already walked on this earth. If you undermine Judism you undermine Christianity as well.
I changed the name of the video to reflect a slightly more diplomatic approach, but essentially you are correct about us being the same religion. Don't tell Jews that, they are very offended by the notion! :) I disagree with you though that it doesn't matter. It matters because 12 million Jews are in need of a messiah, and they still refuse to believe he has come. Also, many disgruntled or misinformed Christians are turning to Rabbinical thought for a more structured religion.
Most Jews don't need a messiah. Most Jews nowadays are non-religious and find the so called "difference" between people over religion amusing. Also, many people turned to Rabbinical thought as well as priesthood. Religon doesn't serve the same purpose it did in the past, which was to give life structure. Nowadays religion controls the weak and the poor, like modern vassallage. So the point you're trying to make is futile becuase it doesn't really matter which religion is the feudal.
That "religion is the opiate of the masses" thing is a cop out by people who simply desire to ignore God and do their own thing. I doubt what I have could accurately be called a religion, but rather a connection with God via a man named Jesus, and the truth He brings to the world. If one does not believe in God, then of course spiritual concern for the Jewish people would seem lame and vain. I do, so I am.
Yes that was Stalin's say on religion back in the Soviet Union. "Religion is opium for the masses."
The things the mind produces are amazing. You have produced a "connection with an idea" and nothing more. It's psychological and it makes you happy because that was what your mom told you when you were little, that's what your priest said when you were little and that's how your community molded you out. Yet it proves nothing more than brainwashing. Stalin was a revolutionist you know.
and where does the christ come from hm how about krishna ther waere over 20 scholar living at that or after that time none wrote anything about jesus only 3 which only refer to the titlle hmm im sure u also believe that world is 1200 years old too
Sure they did. there was Josephus, and Pliny the Younger as well as some of His enemies such as some of the Talmudic writers. Jesus is attested to and spoken about in several ancient works, and the entire New Testament is quoted in several works dating back as far as the 100's A.D. Like I said, do your research. Start with a video called "The Case For Christ"
lol typical first of all josephus has been proven to have been a plagurism by all scholars and histiorians , pliny,(spellingof the last 2 may be wrong)tasitus, and satonius. they only write a couple of sentences that prove nothing except refering to christus or the christ which is not a name but a totle that means the annointed one
one christianitymislam and judaism are all false religeons and are plagurisms of pagan beleifs. u need to do research on facts. the biblke was nit inspired by god sumba ass it want even written by jesus and the texts are found to be plagurised
Ok, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that Judaism, as well as Christianity are taken from pagan religions... ok, so why do both of those faiths affirm as their main focus the existence of a single God, rather than multiple gods and goddesses like pagan religions do? You need to do some research, and you can start by reading God's word the Bible
no offense but apperantly facts state theat all 3 religeons were plagurisms of egyptian and sumariand and other pagan religeons. if u like to see ur so called bible 60% percent of it is not even authentic "christian texts"
At 1:30 the first word is likely "Tikkun". "Tikkun Olam" means repairing or perfecting the world.
Schindler saved Jewish souls which made him a "righteous gentile", but he did not qualify as the Messiah. There are very specific messianic prophecies in the Torah, which no person has yet accomplished.
"Righteous amongst the nations" is rarely used, as the translation for "nations" in Hebrew is "goyim", which now has derogatory connotations.
Yes, & you raise a good point. Jews say their mission is to "Tikkun Olam" or repair the world, yet for the most part, up to now, they have been fairly inward & not exactly open to dialogue with the "goyim". If I believed my duty was to repair the world, I think I would be doing a little more than being Torah observant; repair requires work, and that is where the Jews lose most of the world. The best way to repair the world is to start with the soul, and I am sad to say, 7 laws just don't do that
By performing "mitzvot" (commandments), Jews attempt to build a model society which will in turn influence the rest of the world as "A light to the nations" (Isaiah 49:6).
The "Noahide laws" were meant for non-Jews living in the Biblical "Land of Israel" as a very basic moral code. Jews are supposed to keep 613 commandments (when a temple is standing in Jerusalem), but these 7 are the most useful for social cohesion.
Then why does he have a tree on the "Avenue of Messiahs" in Israel? He was in a very literal sense an embodiment of what Jews believe the Messiah will be. Shlindler saved Jews from the Nazis, so he was a Messiah. The true Messiah saves souls, and bodies are not His primary concern.
In 1963, Schindler was honored at Israel's Yad Vashem memorial to the victims of the Holocaust as one of the Righteous Among the Nations, or "righteous Gentiles". I have never of the avenueof the messiahs. But, lots of people have a tree in israel. I have a tree in israel that is planted to help increase the amount of trees in Israel. The whole purpose he has one is to give a dedicaion to a righeous gentile. Schindler has never been considered a messiah by anyone thats just silly.
The moshiach will bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people by bringing us back to Israel and restoring Jerusalem (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4-5). He will establish a government in Israel that will be the center of all world government, both for Jews and gentiles (Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:10; 42:1). He will rebuild the Temple and re-establish its worship (Jeremiah 33:18).
The moshiach will be a great political leader descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:5). The moshiach is often referred to as "moshiach ben David" (moshiach, son of David). Something that Schindler woud have never met because he wasnt jewish so not at all a descendent king David. NO one out of the right mind would believe this.
I wonder from where you gather the audacity to bore the public with your opinion as if *that* had any authority. Even I as an atheist can spot one fallacy after the other in that diatribe. If you have points of critique or questions you should have debated these with Jews to *enrich* your understanding instead of leaking your spin of things on youtube...
I have the authority of the word of God,& the "audacity" because this is a public forum,& is where one voices opinions of this nature. I may have some of my facts and ideas wrong, but I believe the essence of what I am saying is true. I would ask you this; have you ever met a follower of Ra, or of Zeus? Of course not. Why? Because those religions have no central message to the human kosmos, and as such, they eventually died out. That is what would have happened to Judaism, had Christ not come.
Judaism is against abortion when a baby takes its first breathe than they can not be aborted. the only time they can be aborted is if the mother's life is in jeporady. the reason why th rabbi you asked told you that was not to be shunned by the rest of the jewish community because many jews are very liberal and agree with abortion.
Sir, the rabbi who told me that was Orthodox and he literally said that Judaism takes no official position except for pro choice. God is the only one qualified to end the life of a child, not mothers, not doctors.
Was he a Modern orthodox? Or was he Haredi? Hasidic? The Torah say abortion is wrong unless there is mortal danger to the mother. I dont know f you realize this but there are quite a number of jews that are quite libral. Either the Rabbi you talke to had very liberal views and was a Modern Orthodox Rabbi, or to appease his congregation and not loss members to another temple he told you that.
He was an orthodox Rabbi,& as far as what Jews believe, it makes no difference when compared to God's word. Children are children at any stage of the pregnancy, and God even tells us that before we are "formed in the womb" He know us. I believe there is forgiveness for any sin, but abortion is unnecessary 99% of the time. The whole "well, what if she is raped and has to look at the rapist's face" excuse is not valid, anymore than it would be to go to the house of a rapist and kill his children.
NO abortion is only allowed when the mother's life is in danger other than that it is forbidden. The rabbi you were talking to appears to have a very liberal and loose interpretation of the Torah or he seems to be trying to aviod conflicts with his congregation. But regardless yes it is known abortion is wrong.I suggest your read the Torah and the Talmud to really have a real understanding before you start making false accusations.
Judaism is not pro-choice, but exceptions to the prohibition of abortion (life or health of the mother) may make it appear that way.
It does not share the Christian belief of "original sin" upon which the anti-choice movement is based; ensoulment occurs at birth in Judaism, not at conception. During gestation, the fetus is considered a partial human, in need of protection.
@creativemind1179 God does not consider worldly accomplishments or man's good deeds as righteousness, and people who think that are lying to themselves. The only true righteousness is faith (trust) in God, as was demonstrated by the life of David, a murdering, lying, deceitful person whose only merit was in his humility and admittance of guilt in God's eyes.

The jews wrote that into the bible in order to slander the Egyptians as terrible people out of spite for never having been allowed to participate in Egyptian life. Ask any Egyption and they will educate you about why the jews told those lies.

BTW, the Ten commandments existed nearly 6 thousand years ago, and there were few tribal cultures that even had a written language at that time, so I honestly doubt they could even have been accused of plagiarizing them from another culture Why would a pagan culture post a commandment saying "I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me"?
apologeticsman 2 years ago
so you are really out there with the 6,000 years ago claim.

The Jews have been a nation off & on for well over 5,000 years, & as a matter of fact, they celebrate their version of the new year faithfully, & have always.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
To invent Jesus, one would have to have lived precisely in the time that He was purported to have lived, because archaeology & literature from that time show that the NT authors lived during the time they were writing about, & must have, because their knowledge of the period was so exact. I could sit and draw parallels between many modern, and ancient people or mythological figures, that does not mean they are modeled after those ancient figures. Your conclusions are erroneous & poorly studied
apologeticsman 2 years ago
the bible disciples never even encountered Jesus during his lifetime.
ForTheArticles 2 years ago
This coupled with the fact that the ten commandments, aside from possibly the first one are all moral absolutes that no other ancient culture abided by shows me that your claim is virtually void of any merit. Can you give detailed lists of facts that back up your claims? If so, I would like to see them.

Nothing about abortion????
What about thou shalt not kill?
I don't think it gets any clearer than that friends.
PatrickONB 2 years ago

The Bible fabricators were far too ambitious to leave the words alone as just "I am the lord your God".

judaism disagrees completely with abortion. one rabbi does not represent the entire jewish view.
samuelbodansky2 2 years ago
so why do Jews see the Talmud, which is Jewish Rabbinical commentary, as inspired?
apologeticsman 2 years ago
it is inspired by G-d at mount sinai, then G-d allowed Jews to dispute over it. One example to research is Beit Hillel vs Beit Shammai arguing about all of the Jewish laws in Sanhedrin in the Mishnah.
samuelbodansky2 2 years ago
I agree that the Law of Moses, also known as the Torah was inspired by God, but what Jews seem to not get is that so was the covenant between God and Abraham inspired by God, and that covenant was eternal and included none of the 613 laws. Each covenant had a mediator, and the new covenant's mediator is Jesus, and the new covenant is the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham, that all the nations (Goyim) would be blessed.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
@apologeticsman

YellerMetal 2 years ago
I changed the name of the video to reflect a slightly more diplomatic approach, but essentially you are correct about us being the same religion. Don't tell Jews that, they are very offended by the notion! :) I disagree with you though that it doesn't matter. It matters because 12 million Jews are in need of a messiah, and they still refuse to believe he has come. Also, many disgruntled or misinformed Christians are turning to Rabbinical thought for a more structured religion.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
Most Jews don't need a messiah. Most Jews nowadays are non-religious and find the so called "difference" between people over religion amusing. Also, many people turned to Rabbinical thought as well as priesthood. Religon doesn't serve the same purpose it did in the past, which was to give life structure. Nowadays religion controls the weak and the poor, like modern vassallage. So the point you're trying to make is futile becuase it doesn't really matter which religion is the feudal.
YellerMetal 2 years ago
That "religion is the opiate of the masses" thing is a cop out by people who simply desire to ignore God and do their own thing. I doubt what I have could accurately be called a religion, but rather a connection with God via a man named Jesus, and the truth He brings to the world. If one does not believe in God, then of course spiritual concern for the Jewish people would seem lame and vain. I do, so I am.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
Yes that was Stalin's say on religion back in the Soviet Union. "Religion is opium for the masses."
The things the mind produces are amazing. You have produced a "connection with an idea" and nothing more. It's psychological and it makes you happy because that was what your mom told you when you were little, that's what your priest said when you were little and that's how your community molded you out. Yet it proves nothing more than brainwashing. Stalin was a revolutionist you know.

and where does the christ come from hm how about krishna ther waere over 20 scholar living at that or after that time none wrote anything about jesus only 3 which only refer to the titlle hmm im sure u also believe that world is 1200 years old too
bloodvamp089 3 years ago
and pls do some factual research no known scholar or author of the time of so called jesus ever wrote anything of this supposed messiah.
bloodvamp089 3 years ago
Sure they did. there was Josephus, and Pliny the Younger as well as some of His enemies such as some of the Talmudic writers. Jesus is attested to and spoken about in several ancient works, and the entire New Testament is quoted in several works dating back as far as the 100's A.D. Like I said, do your research. Start with a video called "The Case For Christ"
apologeticsman 3 years ago
lol typical first of all josephus has been proven to have been a plagurism by all scholars and histiorians , pliny,(spellingof the last 2 may be wrong)tasitus, and satonius. they only write a couple of sentences that prove nothing except refering to christus or the christ which is not a name but a totle that means the annointed one
bloodvamp089 3 years ago
one christianitymislam and judaism are all false religeons and are plagurisms of pagan beleifs. u need to do research on facts. the biblke was nit inspired by god sumba ass it want even written by jesus and the texts are found to be plagurised
bloodvamp089 3 years ago
Ok, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that Judaism, as well as Christianity are taken from pagan religions... ok, so why do both of those faiths affirm as their main focus the existence of a single God, rather than multiple gods and goddesses like pagan religions do? You need to do some research, and you can start by reading God's word the Bible
apologeticsman 3 years ago
no offense but apperantly facts state theat all 3 religeons were plagurisms of egyptian and sumariand and other pagan religeons. if u like to see ur so called bible 60% percent of it is not even authentic "christian texts"

ChoofMonster 3 years ago
Yes, & you raise a good point. Jews say their mission is to "Tikkun Olam" or repair the world, yet for the most part, up to now, they have been fairly inward & not exactly open to dialogue with the "goyim". If I believed my duty was to repair the world, I think I would be doing a little more than being Torah observant; repair requires work, and that is where the Jews lose most of the world. The best way to repair the world is to start with the soul, and I am sad to say, 7 laws just don't do that
apologeticsman 3 years ago
By performing "mitzvot" (commandments), Jews attempt to build a model society which will in turn influence the rest of the world as "A light to the nations" (Isaiah 49:6).
The "Noahide laws" were meant for non-Jews living in the Biblical "Land of Israel" as a very basic moral code. Jews are supposed to keep 613 commandments (when a temple is standing in Jerusalem), but these 7 are the most useful for social cohesion.

LOL jews never saw Shindler as a messiah
salobeans 3 years ago
Then why does he have a tree on the "Avenue of Messiahs" in Israel? He was in a very literal sense an embodiment of what Jews believe the Messiah will be. Shlindler saved Jews from the Nazis, so he was a Messiah. The true Messiah saves souls, and bodies are not His primary concern.
apologeticsman 3 years ago

He will rebuild the Temple and re-establish its worship (Jeremiah 33:18).
salobeans 3 years ago
The moshiach will be a great political leader descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:5). The moshiach is often referred to as "moshiach ben David" (moshiach, son of David). Something that Schindler woud have never met because he wasnt jewish so not at all a descendent king David. NO one out of the right mind would believe this.

I wonder from where you gather the audacity to bore the public with your opinion as if *that* had any authority. Even I as an atheist can spot one fallacy after the other in that diatribe. If you have points of critique or questions you should have debated these with Jews to *enrich* your understanding instead of leaking your spin of things on youtube...
veganfemale 3 years ago
I have the authority of the word of God,& the "audacity" because this is a public forum,& is where one voices opinions of this nature. I may have some of my facts and ideas wrong, but I believe the essence of what I am saying is true. I would ask you this; have you ever met a follower of Ra, or of Zeus? Of course not. Why? Because those religions have no central message to the human kosmos, and as such, they eventually died out. That is what would have happened to Judaism, had Christ not come.
apologeticsman 3 years ago
Judaism is against abortion when a baby takes its first breathe than they can not be aborted. the only time they can be aborted is if the mother's life is in jeporady. the reason why th rabbi you asked told you that was not to be shunned by the rest of the jewish community because many jews are very liberal and agree with abortion.
salobeans 3 years ago
Sir, the rabbi who told me that was Orthodox and he literally said that Judaism takes no official position except for pro choice. God is the only one qualified to end the life of a child, not mothers, not doctors.
apologeticsman 3 years ago
Was he a Modern orthodox? Or was he Haredi? Hasidic? The Torah say abortion is wrong unless there is mortal danger to the mother. I dont know f you realize this but there are quite a number of jews that are quite libral. Either the Rabbi you talke to had very liberal views and was a Modern Orthodox Rabbi, or to appease his congregation and not loss members to another temple he told you that.
salobeans 3 years ago
He was an orthodox Rabbi,& as far as what Jews believe, it makes no difference when compared to God's word. Children are children at any stage of the pregnancy, and God even tells us that before we are "formed in the womb" He know us. I believe there is forgiveness for any sin, but abortion is unnecessary 99% of the time. The whole "well, what if she is raped and has to look at the rapist's face" excuse is not valid, anymore than it would be to go to the house of a rapist and kill his children.
apologeticsman 3 years ago
NO abortion is only allowed when the mother's life is in danger other than that it is forbidden. The rabbi you were talking to appears to have a very liberal and loose interpretation of the Torah or he seems to be trying to aviod conflicts with his congregation. But regardless yes it is known abortion is wrong.I suggest your read the Torah and the Talmud to really have a real understanding before you start making false accusations.
salobeans 3 years ago
Judaism is not pro-choice, but exceptions to the prohibition of abortion (life or health of the mother) may make it appear that way.
It does not share the Christian belief of "original sin" upon which the anti-choice movement is based; ensoulment occurs at birth in Judaism, not at conception. During gestation, the fetus is considered a partial human, in need of protection.
