I usually love Dr Hills TV work. Struggling with this though. Brian is truly inspirational. He made me enjoy Physics and want to take it further. I was quite happily getting A's and B's in my Physics exams at GCSE, same in Biology and Chemistry, but then I discovered Brian and his shows/books. He made me enjoy it, and luckily my last exam was all about the Universe. He made me want to learn more than what would be on the paper and have a desire to discover. I enjoyed revising for my exam because it interested me. I got an A* because of Brian.
Insulting someone's understanding and hard work is not the way to pull society out of the dumps. There's no call for encouraging viewers to be condescending or disrespectful to people who invest time and effort to something you don't "get". Life would be so crap if it weren't for nerds who over-think everything as a profession.

At school I hated Physics but loved Maths which is a bit of an oddity, I now realize this was because of my Physics teacher. I'm now back at University studing IT and when I make a program it is always a phycics based program. This is due to one man, Brian Cox.

Brian's fantastic. I just read his book 'Why E=mc^2' It gave me goosebumps. I wish I'd done physics instead of chemistry now! He has an eloquent way of making science accessible which is highly commendable... I must admit that this is bloody hilarious though.
I learned more in watching Brian's videos than i did in 5 years at school. When will teachers realise that some of us can't learn as well as others from reading books and learn a lot better from visuals. I love wonders of the solar system and universe i have them both on blu ray !!

I went to see Brian Cox live with his new band Uncaged Monkeys. I kept cheering for him the play "things can only get better" but he instead he talked just talked. It seems that two of the Apollo "astronauts" namely Mr Bean and Mr Gernan when questioned in 2002,they didn't know where the radiation belts are. Any idea why?
@RXwankME Because they're astronauts, not astronomers? Alan Bean was an engineer, no idea about the other guy though. They probably didn't know as much as the people designing the mission. All that video shows is that the astronauts don't know where the Van Allen radiation belt is, it's not an admission of fraud or anything. Satellites had been moving through the radiation for a few years at this point, so NASA knew how to protect the crew, making a knowledge of this sort of stuff unnecessary.

It's Saturday night in London town and I'm babysitting three kids, (10, 5 and 3). The TV channel has been glued to Eden since I arrived and I know it will stay that way, because the two eldest adore Professor Brian (as they call him). It's adoreable. The 5 year old loves The Wonders of the Universe as his bedtime story. They asked that I write him and tell him they are huge fans. So, Proffessor Brian, a big hello from Brandon and Thomas!

Brian's fantastic. I just read his book 'Why E=mc^2' It gave me goosebumps. I wish I'd done physics instead of chemistry now! He has an eloquent way of making science accessible which is highly commendable... I must admit that this is bloody hilarious though.

LOL... Science takes itself far to seriously at times. Brian may be a great mind (who also plays drums well) but I am sure he enjoys this as much as the next man. I went to see Brian Cox live with his new band Uncaged Monkeys. I kept cheering for him the play "things can only get better" but he instead he talked just talked. He didn't even play one keyboard solo. Just kidding fantastic show and even as someone who left school at 15, I got an awful lot out of it.

@RXwankME Because they're astronauts, not astronomers? Alan Bean was an engineer, no idea about the other guy though. They probably didn't know as much as the people designing the mission. All that video shows is that the astronauts don't know where the Van Allen radiation belt is, it's not an admission of fraud or anything. Satellites had been moving through the radiation for a few years at this point, so NASA knew how to protect the crew, making a knowledge of this sort of stuff unnecessary.

Someone on earth, someone who has spent their life researching this stuff and with all the equipment needed has a better view of these phenomena than someone who hasn't spent their life researching this stuff, locked in a tin room and without any equipment or requirement to do so. We already knew of the Van Allen belt, so getting the Apollo missions to research it is rather pointless.
