  • it is sad that those people that are trying to stop piracy are allready filthy rich and they want more. they want us to be complete slaves of the industry. excuse my bad english

  • @tomazy001 It's all about money

  • @AngryAussie i know what You mean but now is the time to say NO! its about people. consider this paradox. people paying taxes for goverments to have money to fck people up their asses. perpetuum mobile! internet is greatest gift to human kind and it happened by their mistake and now goverments are trying to take the power of knowledge back. they are scared little bastards...

  • We are in dark times my interweb friends...

  • @ixlovexmayxmaple As we always have been and always will be

  • What I can do? specify plis!

  • @M1A2R1K Start at eff.org and read up

  • I wouldn't have cared about the noisy birds, but no, you had to tell us how beautiful they were - and then you didn't show them! >:(

  • @IntarwebUser They're in other videos

  • Where is the Doctor when you need him???

  • @TVDAnnu SOPA and PIPA have overshadowed ACTA but it's still dangerous

  • Take America out and nearly all internet problems will be solved :)

  • fuckers blocked my memorial vid on ryan dunn and fkin BLOCKED IN EVERY SINGLE FUCKING COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sk8erdude524 That would be because you used copyright material you had no rights to.

  • I'm cool with copyrights but they should only last for a year, not 120.

  • @ReviewsCritical The current laws are ridiculous

  • DOWN WITH ACTA

    also bump

  • @runekey ACTA needs to go down

  • Takes obnoxious to know Obnoxious hehe. Still the internet was made for people to get creative but the big money grabbing companies like you've explained before are literally owning the internet with ads.

  • Obama is trying to save the US economy by protecting the entertainment industry (Shirley Temple, anyone?). That doesn’t give him the right to invade our privacy. As of Friday July the 30th, 2010 we the people of the world, the citizens of the internet will boycott the entertainment industry! No movies or upcoming CDs! Our right to privacy will not be infringed! No to ACTA!

  • @countryroo123 You actually seem unaware of how stupid that comment is. Boycott the entertainment industry. Yeah, that'll happen.

  • I don't see how watching Karate Kid online is an issue of national security...

  • @kittycatcarley Good point

  • Ok, I know this Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement will fuck over graphic designers, especially ones with websites. I'm just wondering how much will we get fucked over.

  • @AtumGraphics Think of a worst case scenario then get ready for something worse.

  • @AngryAussie Let me see, I get my website shut down, I lose my internet connection forever, I get fined at least $50,000 and I get 5 years of jail time. How could it get worse than that?

  • @AtumGraphics The media paints it so everyone thinks you deserve jail time as well.

  • @AngryAussie Big deal, most of the locals thinks that I belong in a mental hospital because I keep brining this topic up. Apparently, I'm a conspiracy theorist now. Try to top that. :P

  • you're a genius dude

  • Cheers

  • As much as judges tend to be on the conservative side the important thing to remember also is that the law also has a vested interest in making itself look good. So assumably sometimes it won't do what's in it's allies best interests to make people have faith in the legal system and to appear fair. Although it seems with the whole cutting off peoples internet cases that isn't the case in some countries.

  • It's all down to who makes the best legal argument.

    And who's been bought off.

  • see ...sita sings the blues.. a copyright free movie interesting concept... you tube

  • That's hardly an unusual idea

  • yeh but did you watch it. its a blast

  • No I didn't, I meant a copyright free movie isn't an unusual idea

  • Well the question is not just what's right but also the realities and what part the law should play.

Is the fact that many underground artists enough of a bonus for the number that actually lose sales from piracy? And just how draconian are the measures required to actually make a difference, because certainly piracy could be controlled if you had a secret police network, but that just isn't something anyone would want and disconnection from the internet is bullshit.

  • The law currently plays the role of fucking over ordinary people in favour of big companies.

  • @AngryAussie Yes. Yes it does, unfortuntely.

  • My biggest concern with this ACTA is that fair-use will no longer exist.

  • The big companies want to kill it

  • didnt know about this but just looked it up on wikipedia, short response not farkin good. It seems we are becoming a more controlled world but,not controlled by ourselves as individuals but controlled more by people with very deep pockets. There was a statement in wikipedia saying basically its in the best interest of the public that we dont know about it,what bullshit. Why wasnt the climate control agreement kept hidden then? Its more likely its not in the best interest of the rich that we know.

  • It's getting quite disturbing what these big companies are trying

  • Yes,its almost becoming a communist style world where everything is done for the betterment of a select few & not the many under the guise that we would be much better off if this happened or we did it this way. Not until its to late we realise that the only ones who truely benefit are the leaders of the world & the rich. By then, its usually to late or we have been so doctrined that we believe what we are told rather than think for ourselves that something is wrong. we truely have become sheep

  • That's called fascism, not communism. The misuse of the terminology is starting to really annoy me.

  • I've read about ACTA. What can ordinary people do to voice their displeasure at the idea of this monstrosity and make our will known to the powers that be?

  • Write to your government. Join a lobby group.

  • @OmegaWolf747 I suppose a petition from us citizens sent to the lobbyist supporting what we want.

  • I'm convinced that ACTA will become law (at least here in Canada), but I'm also convinced that ACTA will backfire 10 fold.

  • There are very strong forces pushing it

  • @AngryAussie Yes, the recording and movie industries.

  • Some of us have tried to spread the word on this, but here is the kicker mate. It is amazing how the public disregard this and say it wont pass because they trust their government. You are right people say stupid things. But this shouldnt be legal at all. Sadly most people wont do anything cause they think its too outrageous that it wont pass. When it does pass thats when they;; cry about it, but it will be too late.

  • It is disturbing how little some people care

  • This is why we're fucked. When...not if....WHEN ACTA becomes law, I will completely avoid going on the internet, watching movies, and watching TV. The only thing in the entertainment business that will remotely get my money are the gaming industry, and I don't even rent games often. As for music goes. Well, I listen to the radio when I'm driving and public places has the radio on, so I can't boycott the radio.

  • This shouldn't even be legal. it's a gross invasion of privacy. I support you from canada.

  • You have your own fights in Canada

  • Not only am I creating a play list of videos that speak against the ACTA, but I'm gonna make a video about it and add it to the play list. Once all of that is done, I'm going to share that play list and I'm going to embeded on my blog. I wouldn't be surprised if this causes my Youtube account suspended.

  • No it won't

  • How can you be so sure?

  • You should see some of the stuff I do

  • So a couple days ago, I sent a letter, from EFF, to my state senator, and here is a slice of what he said:

"I support a balanced approach to international trade that ensures equal treatment for U.S. goods and services. I believe we must pursue policies that advance the economic well-being of America's businesses and working families while holding our trading partners accountable."

I'm not sure how to take this, but we still need more letters!

  • We sure do

  • @TheModernGuy Well being of America's businesses....

Aka if you aren't a multinational conglomerate corporate american and don't have billions in bribe mon...donations....then you can go **** yourself you piddly librul!

  • lol@flies

  • I wasn't loling

  • I just don't understanding regulating the internet. As long as end users can upload things, people will always be say what they want, until the internet provider takes it off anyway.

Second, I wonder if the push or censorship is more about commercialization of the internet. People close advertising windows, but in the future I see only being able to access web sites if you agree to spam from Coke or whoever. Where there's money to be made, right?

  • You may be right

  • @melstan12 simple answer, a 3 strikes rule.

If you get caught dling 3 times they can prevent you from using the net.

  • WTF is the USA doing ?

Not only they are not content with big brother shit in their homeland now they want to spead it with all trading partners which means you do what i say or else ?

  • That's basically it

  • @AngryAussie I'm an American living in occupied territory.

I don't know why it's still called the USA, but it sure as **** isn't the one I grew up in.

I'll just apologize for the politicians who are corporate mouthpieces and all of the damage that they did.

Can you petition the australian govt to form a multinational coalition to bring liberty and democracy back to the US?

  • why doesn't Yt implement a similar arrangement then. they license a particular, rendering it public domain on this site, and this site only, allowing members to utilize the song in their videos.

my idea does come with a caveat though, in order to fund this scheme, i feel there should some sort of member pay structure.

the only people that would hate this idea are lawyers, copyright issues buy them houses, we can bypass some of them with a new, innovative agreement.

  • YT doesn't control the licensing.

  • dude I really would like to know:

Am I ur only viewer in PNG?

    heh, laterz,

    CrazySnareCharles

  • I have no idea :)

  • yeaz.... so check the demographics if you please? :D

  • Good food for thought. ..This has made me think a lot more about these points that I also feel strongly about.

    Thanks!

    p.s. f**king flies!

  • More people need to think about it!

  • greedy cunts

  • Yes

  • you are a shit kinda publicity... but I still love ya hehe

    Nice video dear :-P

  • Thanks Loz!

  • Mad so i guess you live around that are if melbourne

  • St Kilda

  • Which lobby groups though cause I can't find their websites?

  • Try looking up the ones I mentioned

  • i'de love to see you sponsor something "is your clothing staind buy Oxxo shine and clean it the fuck up!" but anyway this acta thing is bad news

    down with the oppressor!!!!1111

  • Cleans your shit the fuck up!

  • Nope, it's the same as it's always been, control, the copyright holder's in their zeal for power want to dictate when, where, how, who, why their songs are utilized.

they know it's a brave new world of freedom, and they are clueless as to how to proceed.

are they now going to tell me i can't play one of their songs on the radio in my backyard or a park , do a little dance and tape it? would it be okay to post it to Yt?Maybe not with these copyrightnazis.JV

  • Just wait - they'll try to take it that far

  • okay, so it's allright for me to play some songs as a Dj for hire at a party and profit from it, but i'm not allowed to use a song without any potential for financial profit on youtube. i seriously don't get this argument, a copyright protects potential financial gain, how is using a song in a video detracting from a copyright holder's profit. How is a copyrighted song benefiting a non partner?

Now, it's a matter of respect and not copyright?...

  • ACTUALLY, DJs (or at least the venue) are meant to pay a licensing fee, It's illegal otherwise.

  • Off-Topic, I think I saw you a couple of days ago

  • Lucky you!

  • Sad that Americans have fallen so far from the Constitution that someone can call taking an interest in politics is paranoid. (assuming it was an american)

  • No idea

  • The internet simply cannot be policed. If the plan passes, it will fail.

  • That is absurdly naive and simply wrong. 99% of internet activity is trivially easy to police.

  • The proportion of the internet is just unimaginable. To police that many people is impossible, and for someone to be caught is a tiny chance. You'd need either a computer to monitor activity (the computer would shortly overload) or human workers, and we'd need a monitor for ever 10 users or so.

Alas its defo something we should keep our eyes on

  • Your naivety is almost sweet. ALL internet traffic is routed through an absurdly small number of key points.

  • It would be very hard to (as you yourself has discussed in other videos of the same topic) but once that techongly is in place it wouldn't be all that hard for them, no.

  • These are better than the boring ranty videos.

  • Why don't you get off your lazy fucking arse and do something better?

  • practically all companies dislike the Internet because its a free exchange of information and the only way they can hope to mounter it is by violating civil rights. The big question should be why is it kept secret, it should be the government's responsibility to let its citizens know why they are voting on.

Its quite obvious why it was kept secret and it should disgust people that their intentions were to keep it silent.

  • It threatens their mafia-style business plan

  • very true

  • St Kilda beach :P

  • Indeed

  • One of the reasons companies and vested interests are so worreid about the internet is that it is the printing press of the 21st century- all of a sudden everyone is now a publisher- no newspaper, no capital needed, you can put ideals out there.

  • Their entire monopolistic business plan is threatened

  • filthy capitalists

  • all the moving about in the video is very distracting,

nevertheless, you always have good point & videos.

    keep it up.

  • I plan to

  • lol with the fly it reminds me when cory swollowed a fly lol i will so contact my local lobbyist, i would love to see the birds,

  • Another time

  • Acta my point still stands where the Criminals treat the innocent like Criminals.

  • These companies are the real criminals

  • I always thought free promotion and 20 Seconds or less would be fine.

  • You thought wrong

  • Sorry, meant to finish that, had to go and just hit comment,

"I always thought 'Free Publicity' and 20 seconds or less was fine"

But as you said, who wants BAD publicity?

So you know, It's kind of... Stumping.

  • My friend said "For U.S interests. Bizarre? Try adding 2 cups of BS to that and you'll concoct the recipe of their real intents."

He also said anybody who says 'It'll never happen,' has never worked in showbiz and greatly underestimates the enormous greed factor extant in modern Entertainment Companies.

Don't know what extant means, so IDK if it's used correctly in the sentence. I'm guessing it is, only b/c this guy graduated from the University I've spent my whole life wanting to attend: Yale.

  • These companies are desperate

  • they like to control- and the internet is one of the last FREE mediums.

  • I know this is fucking stupid, but that's a lot of people on that beach. And I love your points. You're one of the only people on YouTube that have logic in their words. TheAmazingAtheist is logistical, but he's just way too fucking loud and "rant"ish.

  • That was a very small crowd for the beach

  • I just went to EFF site and sent a letter out to my state senators. Let's all do that, only takes a minute or so.

  • Good suggestion!

  • do a vid on peaple who think that thay r trying to be funny but there fuckin not so can do a vid on then show us how to be funny

  • That's extremely subjective

  • yea so it would be funny

  • You have some good points, I'll try to let others know of this.

  • Cheers

  • ever seen tortures for flies? its the best :P

  • No.

  • I think that is you are in a situation where you are not personally profiting of the distribution then its a different matter. Putting some rap stars music on the back ground of one of your rant videos for instance. And a large man shouting obseseities? THat IS a rapper.

  • Life's not that simple

  • lol we just talked about this last night XD well not exactly but still around the same topic. well you are right. lol o wouldnt mind any publicity but if someone is getting payed for what i do then well i got a problem

  • More people should talk about it

  • Damned good video. I agree completely that it is ridiculous to take the attitude that nothing will come of this. Sure the powerful and influential always discuss things they plan on not doing. Being American I will never forget the language used prior to the invasion of Iraq. By the way real sorry for the tea (douche) baggers. Some of us don't fuck our sisters.

  • bwahahahaha thanks for that

  • i dont understand why this idea is even being discussed its been shot down all over the place so that tells me people dont like it

  • Greedy companies are pushing it

  • The seem to want to be paid for every little thing

  • well im all for respecting artists and their work, but really,if they didnt want people to use their material, why would they put it out in the first place?

i dont want to FORCE them to let us do what we will, but just, you know, dont act all surprised when you find a fan video with your song on it...or maybe im being too simple minded about this...i dont know...

  • This situation actually has nothing to do with artists and is all about greedy companies.

  • I see a Tshirt from this one...

    Keep on YouTubin!

  • Cheers :)

  • MUST SPREAD THE WORD AUSSIE TELLS ME TO lol

  • Yes you must

  • aussie can you give me the link to the US lobby group

  • Just look them up

  • Yep, if we apply a strategy of apathy, we'll only have ourselves to blame.

  • Something not enough people seem to realise

  • what do you expect from the american government? they are complete bullies.

  • So are the corporations

  • The whole idea of your ISP cutting up your internet for downloading copyright is stupid. I mean, if your ISP shuts off your internet, wouldn't you just switch ISP's?

  • No they say you did it three times you lose internet you probably go on some internet black list with all the major ISP's. But honestly how often are these guys right I mean look at Viacom's track record of oh wait thats ours claims.

  • You will be blacklisted

  • Actually, you are wrong. If enough of the public says "i don't care I will share what I like" the politicians will have to listen as we live in what is supposed to be a democracy.

The big corporations will have to adjust their marketing strategies or they will lose money.

Don't tell people that nobody will listen to them because they will.

  • That is an absurd fantasy you are living in

  • Funny how that is exactly how it is playing out now.

Big companies are even trying to buy torrent sites xD.

I care about artists, but they can still do live shows and as it is being proved more and more people will go to shows because many extra people have downloaded their songs.

I realize that their are arguments for both sides , but I also realize that for them to enforce their side they will have to breach our rights and freedoms.

    There will be backlash ;)

  • You're not being paranoid.... it's very real among other things. I got yelled at in you're last rant mentioning the Obama administration's passage of what they call "net neutrality" in the name of national security. Listen.... the U.S. is broke... our congress is now useless... and if there's a dollar to be made... namely on the internet... it will pass.

  • Thats a great point... a really great point

  • You have no fucking idea what net neutrality means and you're making yourself look like a fucking moron.

  • makes me angry when you are calm.

puff, pant, swear & suck flies please.

    yeah...

internet censorship will be an ongoing scrap unless it's subdued into submission for a year. tis gonna be interesting.

  • It will be a long fight

  • tru yeh my amv get remove everyday bez of this bullshit yeh i know im using there products but hell dude im not making any money out there shit it not fare relly

  • It doesn't work that way

  • you're icon is missing the S.

  • it stands for Totally Fucked Up its not Stfu

  • You don't know what you're talking about

  • hellshade2, if you was paying attention angry did say what i stands for ( Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement ).

I do agree with the whole copyright thing, only because nobody likes their work being copied. The only problem i have is with people who abuse the law.

Finally thank you agree, i didn't know about some of the issues raised but now i know :)

  • It* sorry its my dam keyboard :)

  • Copyright law as it stands has nothing to do with creators.

  • what does acta mean? i did a google and came up with a few different i9tems on it

  • Look up Anti-counterfeit trade agreement.

  • I gave the full name

  • your correct i was not paying full attention it seems, my bad there....

  • We live in a scary world...

  • Yes we did

  • An ex of mine works for EFF. I reckon I might ask him about the details of what they are doing about it.

Great video, good to see you talking about stuff that matters... er, that came out wrong, you know what I mean!

  • This is something that should matter to everyone.
