@FerrarisRock in her case, it is a breach of rule. if your ball is in the sand and you touch anything in it except for when you are hitting the ball, it is a penalty. anything in the bunker that is on, next to, or around your ball has to remain there.

I was golfing the other day at ashburn in NS and I was in the bunker and i went for my shot and I hit the ball but my follow throught the ball was cut short by a huge boulder twice the size of a softball it took a big chunk out of my 400 dollars SW and I was pissed the rock was like 1 inch down under the sand it ruined my whole golf day

With the equipment out there, hitting 300 off the tee is not such a big deal anymore for the scratch amateur and yeah, I know lots of people who can hit it 300, some women, 270.
