  • Obama: "Dic-dic-dic-dic-dic-dic-Dick Durbin..."

  • Hillary ain't gonna win. Sticking up for lobbyists? Good grief. It's obvious to anyone who pays attention that those Gucci-wearing pimps of the Beltway do not deserve anything but our reviulsion. If Hillary plans to be their friend in the White House, she's not going to be much of a president. Her defense of the lobby and their money proves that she is little more than a female good old boy.

  • He Is Brilliant...

  • its funny how they all act like they arent taking money and edwards is all ok from now on no more... now that he has enough money from them already. federal lobbyists or bundler wtf ever, same thing!

watch the video where Gravel busts out the newspaper to back up his argument on stage :P

  • And people say Ann Coulter is a bitch

  • Hilary will say anything that would get her elected, just like slick willey did.

  • That works out well, because apparently people believe just about everything she says.

  • You mean Billery?

  • How about we start with, "I pledge allegiance to liberty and justice for all?" Then we could work on the rest of it.

  • The entire Democrat party is a joke. "Party of the people"? Huh. Yeah, they're socialists so of course they are the party of the people. More government control, more...more...more. If you think Bush has power, wait 'til one of these yahoos gets in. Talk about regulation. Oh, you'll be able to buy your porn and have abortions, but you can forget about economic freedom and homeland security.

  • RepublicanLegend, you are quite wrong about the Dems being socialists. Would a socialist do the bidding of KStreet Lobbyists on behalf of big business? Would a socialist refuse to take down our Criminal Capitalist administration, when it's withing their power? The Dems are for the same things the Reps are: money and power. The world can go twist, as far as they are concerned; and twist it will.

  • Great to see the candidates supporting public financing of campaigns and fighting for who likes it most. We need to hear more about that.

  • Wow, this is the best evidence of Hillary being just another crumby politician that I've seen yet. "Lobbyists are real people". Holy shit, what kind of moron do you have to be? Yeah they're "real" as in they're not figments of your freakin' imagination.

  • Video "Tancredo wants to bomb Mecca" - JixMa - "You think you and your soldier buddies are so fucking BAD, don'tcha? I think U.S. soldiers are nothing but a bunch of pussies. They like to fight from long-distance like dropping bombs, shooting missiles, using robots, cameras on M-16s to look around corners, night-vision to hide in the dark like the chickenshits that they are! They don't have the fucking balls to fight an enemy up-close and personal."

  • The Daily Kos removes comments from their website which don't fall in line with their leftist beliefs.

Everybody believes in censorship in one form or other. Everybody.

  • yep..

  • Uhh, I don't.

  • That would not be true.

trolls get hidden, not removed. And there are strict rules on troll rating.

Unlike say, Freepers, who kickyou off the site if you disagree.

    Thanks for playing.

  • Both systems suck. I'm almost always troll rated on KOS and I've been booted from Free Republic so many times I can't count.

At least the Freepers let the remarks of their dissenters stand. The KosKlan hides them away from the world.

  • I love this!!!!! Props to the host of this debate and to the outspoken people in the crowd and to the candidates against taking lobbyist money. This is the most important issue in this election in my opinion, because it affects all others and is essential to the very integrity of our constitutional republic. Follow the money. Ron Paul 2008

  • Hillary Clinton doesn't believe in anything. Well... she believe in what her corporate masters tell to believe.

  • That's just not true. Hillary believes Hillary is entitled to be President. Hillary believes that anything she has to do to get there, anything at all, is OK. And she apparently believes her own bullshit. So there are at least three things Hillary believes in. If Joe Leiberman were female, he'd be Hillary!

  • SAVE THE UNION!!

Get big money out of politics!

Click on my name, to see my FLAGGED anti-Bush video.

    Powerful.

    Hated by censors.

    Loved by others.

  • Right on Kucinich!

  • Sound is pretty bad, gotta pull this stuff off the board if possible, not from the back of the room, but I like what I'm hearing. Encouraging..

  • Hillary seems less impressive lately. Seems Edwards and Obama are pushing the hardest.

  • I think Obama has yet to make his push.

  • Edwards is looking better all the time in these faceoffs. He says what Americans know: their voice has been diminished by corporate money. Hillary has been pussyfooting with special interests for a long time or "triangulating." Even her education associations have been with folks who cashed in the bogus corporate-dictated education testing and accountability reform.

  • in this debate Edwards repeated a bunch of Mike Gravel's talking points as if they were his. Gravel is influencing the debates if they like it or not and if his ideas catch on all the better.

  • Bill and Chris sitting in a tree.. K-I-S-S-N-G

  • Edwards / Obama 08... JE won that won, Obama did very well but the fact he chips in after Edwards is important

  • Ridiculous comment: Edwards was ASKED the question before Obama? Hello?

  • Lobbying is bribery made to look ethical.

Accepting money from lobbyists is just as dishonest as accepting bribes. Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself.

  • Thank You Daily Kos.Obama is the best hope for this country. He shows us every time he speaks truth to power. OBAMA '08

  • Hillary is a joke.

Barack Obama holds the keys to a better America.

He is CLEARLY the best choice.

I couldn't think of a better candidate. It's a blessing to have someone of Obama's calibre running for office.

  • The world would laugh at America if Hillary was in office. A stone cold reminder of everything Bush did wrong!

She sees Americans as silly and gullible; that's how she speaks to audiences. She dodges straightforward questions, and twists things to fit her distorted way of thinking. Who could bring themselves to vote for a liar and a cold heart? She is stubborn - refusing to say her vote for war was a mistake, and taking lobbyist money and making weird excuses as to why she should.

  • contributions by "securities and investment" industry: Clinton $3,300,000 Obama $3,100,000

contributions by the "hedge fund & private equity" industry:

    Clinton $703,600

    Obama $640,000

    Dodd $726,950

    contributions from "lawyers/law firms":

    Clinton $6,200,000

    Obama $5,500,000

    Edwards $6,500,000

Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan, nonprofit group

  • This comes from the same website you quote.

    -------------------------------------------

While lawyers and Wall Street are still the biggest givers, the candidates raised 84 percent more—or more than a quarter of their money—from smaller donors in the last three months.

  • contributions from "pharmaceuticals/health products":

    Clinton $172,150

    Obama $160,572

    Edwards $6,758

    contributions from "health professionals" :

    Clinton $998,851

    Obama $701,993

    Edwards $254,297

Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan, nonprofit group

  • Health Professionals is not a "LOBBY." Sure, people who work in the health care field have donated to all candidates, but a "PROFESSIONAL" is not the same as a lobbyist lobbying on behalf of an HMO.

  • Obama annihilated Hillary on this one!!

She's fired him up so much... Big mistake Hillary! It's time for you to get EXPOSED!!!!!!!

  • They need welfare because even those who work get welfare because this country has a minimum wage below that of what REAL people can afford to live on. WAKE UP!

  • Listen to that crowd! People are waking up! People see the truth! There is more to Obamas story than just not taking lobbyists money. That is the tip of the iceburg. But HE SLAMMED HILLARY! keep takin them on Barack. We are here to watch the show! Make sure you register as a Democrat everyone. Some states you have to be registered as a Dem. to vote for Obama in the primarys...and ....dont forget to vote! VOTE FOR OBAMA! dont listen to the polls they lie. He is on top!

  • Hillary is a lying liar. Obama is the man! VOTE OBAMA! SUPPORT OBAMA!!!

  • Obama is for change and I hope this country does not let race prevent us from choosing a remarkable man. The next Kennedy.

  • oh yes...and Edwards has taken money from our friend Rupert Murdoch and about $800,000 from Harper Collins...what is that about.

  • Big difference between him receiving payment from News Corp for a book deal, vs. Hillary Clinton taking money from News Corp for campaign contributions.

  • Edwards did not TAKE MONEY FROM Murdoch. The proceeds from that book went to HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, THE INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMISSION, AND COLLEGE FRESHMEN, not to John Edwards. Get your facts together moron.

  • Guys, make sure you comment on veracifier dot com -- it's our video PLUS commentary. We want your input... and your video.

  • Hillary really thinks we're all stupid.

Lobbyists make millions of dollars. What corporations would pay a lobbyist millions of dollars if they didn't get politicians to vote their way?

Hillary has received almost $1 million from healthcare lobbyists and we haven't seen a healthcare reform plan from her yet. Sounds like they're influencing her to me.

  • Obama! He absolutely destroyed Hillary with this. I am voting for him, hands down!

  • My Vote is going to Obama. He is real. He is for change...we need it! We need Him!

  • Yes we can! Barack, you really celebrated your birthday with this one.......Happy Birthday!

  • What? No mention of Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and his four lobbyist children?

  • Obama!!!!!!!

  • You can see her expressions better in the politicstv version of this, it's around minute 10 of the part 3. She was pissed at the audience and really not hiding it well, lol.

  • Hillary is a lying liar. Obama is clearly the better candidate!

  • Edwards or Obama would be a MUCH better president than Clinton.

  • Regardless of anything Hillary said that might be considered good by technicality, she has put herself in a politically indefensible position.

"Washington lobbyists" is to the democratic party as "Illegal immigrants" is to the republican party, heh.

  • Hillary will say anything to get elected.

  • Headline: Hillary gets PWNED

    OBAMA 08

  • Obama'08!

  • barack is a great person. i like his articulation and firm stance on issues. dont change barack. let hilary continue to dodge and allow her to stumble in her own foolishness.

  • Hillary's love for lobbyists should be a warning to the middle class. Our interest will not be represented in a Clinton White House. She is Bush-Chaney lite. Vote Obama.

  • Vote from candidate that has most grass roots support. So far it looks like Obama and Paul.

  • I was there today and witnessed this. What was most striking is that Hilary had every advantage, as more questions were directed to her, and a moderator even accidentally called her "president clinton". She had it all, and blew it big time with this answer. Not sure if you can hear it, but the crows actually HISSED her. It was pretty stunning just how badly she F*ed up!

  • Awesome video...I appreciate their honesty.

I can't imagine any of the Republican candidates even participating in this type of public discussion.

  • I thought Hillary did an excellent job and she was anything but fake or dishonest in this answer. She simply stated, yes, I will take money from lobbyists and stated how some lobbyists do represent progressive organizations. I find her to be more nad more impressive in every group or debate setting I see her in. I'd still vote for Edwards or Obama over her but she continues to impress me.

  • I think Obama is sounding better and better compare to Hillary.

  • She just lost my vote!!!!

  • ...but money from Wall Street is OK.

ugh. Check out my channel (please). Ron Paul '08.

  • It's one thing to say that i made a mistake by taking money from lobbyists but to try to convince the American people that "lobbyists represent real Americans" is a downfall for Hillary.

  • This is the best vid yet from YK. "How many in this audience have a lobbyist working for you?" ... and hedge funds? We're glad you're watching too - check our website [veracifier dot com] for more. We want your commentary!

  • Hillary is not trust worthy. She is fake.

  • Edwards was hurt big time by the Hedge fund issue.

  • You tell them Senator Obama! Show them who is the candidate of real change.

  • Man Obama is amazing. The dude has an amazing way of thinking on his feet.

  • By the way, where on earth was Joe Biden?

  • Biden strikes me as the beltway candidate, far more than Clinton. I don't think KOS is a great place for him, strategically. Is he even attending?

  • Interesting about your comment on Biden. I don't think he was on stage, but I still certainly think he could play to this crowd on some level--he showed some flair in the CNN Youtube debate.

I don't think this crowd would really appreciate the nuances in Biden's position on Iraq, though.

  • I think this does well for Clinton.

Lobbyists are an easy target. It's simple for Obama and Edwards to make noises about somehow ending the lobbying (and therefore generate almost obligatory audience noise).

Reminds me of Obama's slip about the need for greater diplomacy. Sure, everyone is in favour of greater diplomacy, but it's more complicated than that and has to consider sensitivities in international relations.

  • She knows that John Edwards and Barack Obama are talking about "CORPORATE LOBBYISTS," so for her to even bring up nurses and teacher groups is ridiculous. Every American lobbies when they contact their representatives. The problem is when "CORPORATE LOBBYISTS" use money to buy off politicians like Hillary Clinton.

  • Headline: Hillary Clinton defends corporate lobbyists.

If you want "change" don't go with Hillary Clinton. The Clintons are a part of the power elite in DC, and they represent the STATUS QUO.

  • WOW!

That was a heated debate. But, It's nice to see a real interactive conversation between the candidates and the American people.

    AWESOME!

  • Read the NYTimes today. Barack was paid off by Energy lobbyists to dilute and defang his energy bill. Hah!

That explains why Exelon is one of his top donors. Oh, and Axelrod, his campaign manager? Is a consultant (read: lobbyist) for a Nuclear Power company.

OMG he is such a hypocrite!
