Those dice are as big as his head...no wonder he couldn't roll to make money, make them at least half that size! We aren't blind from watching TV for weeks and weeks on end, that's why god invented glasses..!
Well, even IF this game wasn't up with some of the more memorable game shows, at least everyone can agree with me that at least watching this game show was more fun that actually playing the board game.
@jskf622 Charlie O'Donnell is the owner of another great voice silenced forever. Just leaves the question of who's going to succeed him on Wheel of Fortune?
@666Brago I heard the Former Announcer from the Price is Right, Rich Fields, is taking over for a bit but in reality, you really can't replace Charlie O' Donnell.
@666Brago The Irraplaceable Announcing Voices(Game Show wise) are in my Opinion(and remember it's my Opinioin if you have your favorites please let me know.) Charlie O' Donnell, Gene Wood, Johnny Olson, Johnny Gilbert(but shouldn't do Wheel of Fortune) Rod Roddy, and Jay Stewert.
I remember that bonus round, the worst attempt at making a bonus round where you can win money by land on one of the "Go to Jail" speace. What an epic failure! I used to watched it since I was 12.
This show is amazing because they hoping they make a new season of monopoly in around fall 2010 with the bonus round with $1,000,000 and a shot in the tournament. if the pass go and if they land exactly on go they will win $2,000,000 and a shot in a tournament
The gameplay was unbalanced. You could shoot into first place at any given time even if you waited till the end. The woman went from -100 to the lead before the break. The middle stage was the only strategy involved for the most part. The endgame was tolerable.
Statistically speaking he should of made park place one of them since it is not going to happen as often as the others since it falls 7 spaces (7 is the most rolled number with too dice) away from "Go to Jail" and you can't start on Go To Jail.
I grew up with this show, and others, High Rollers, Scrabble, Concentration, PYL, Jokers Wild, $25K, 100K Pyramid.
I thought this show was genius back then, and wish it had stayed on longer. Now, to say this show was "terrible" I just cant see how or why it was "terrible"
@movie0007 I thought bumper stumpers was one of the best game shows ever. It really worked your brain. There's so much bull shit and luck games these days. They really don't make things like they used to.
@movie0007 Me too! I used to watch game shows all the time since I was a kid. And don't forget "Scrabble" was a game show based on a Hasbro board game, and so does "Monopoly" which was a Hasbro based game show. Thanks to "Family Game Night" on the Hub. It has some Monopoly related stuff. This new show is based on any board game from Hasbro.
I personally wanted to thank you for bringing this on You Tube. I have been trying to prove that this game show did exist and I am glad to be right! Thank you!!!

This whole show is just soo tedious! And I agree--what a shitty end game. Every time you land on a square you get $100? There's no incentive not to go for it every time.
Thank you Jesus/ABC for euthanizing this show fairly quickly.

To say that I dislike this show because it is not like shows of today is totally missing the point. This show is fucking terrible for any time. Shows like $100k Pyramid and Match Game require wit and/or skill. Watching today's shows, like 5th Grader or Deal or No Deal make passing a kidney stone look like a painless trip to the urinal. I don't dislike this show because it's from 1990; I dislike this show because it is fucking terrible.
No, this show was NOT terrible! Gosh, I can't believe you say such a thing. It was a good show. A lot of money was at stake in this show. And honestly, though the clues were a bit more deceptive, I think it was the clues. But really, the show was NOT terrible!
Either case, that's your opinion. I know not everyone liked this show. I see with this opinion, you're one of them. No worries, though. I respect your opinion. But for 1990 times, I think $100 was all right. These days, $100 is just cheap these days.
Mike was a good contestant who played by bad luck in the bonus round. Kathy seems to follow the role of Heather Cunningham of THE BIG SHOWDOWN; she just hands the contestant the dice without talking. Mike seemed to be on a roll at first but when it got dramatic he just lost it. Could returning champions work? Yes and No; because the show was weekly it people might not remember the champions and there would probably be a winnings limit. After all, ABC had an appearence limit of 5 days. B+ round
Also, about the Free Parking jackpot, it starts at $1,000 and grows by the fees paid (non-properties, unless a player should go bankrupt), and by $1,000 if it's not won at the end of the match.
Also, all questions to take control and $50 will be General-Knowledge instead of crossword clues. And all players start with $1,500. Hour-long format, and during a commercial, houses/hotels (if the player achieves a whole Monopoly) will be paid for. Also, if a player should go bankrupt before mortgaging properties, they lose, and their properties go back into the shuffle, and whatever was paid for (including cost for houses and hotels) will be added to the Free Parking jackpot.
Also, if they should land on Free-Parking, they automatically move the number of spaces they rolled to land on it. Also, returning champs: Champions can stay on until they're defeated in the main game, or win the jackpot. Also, the host should be David Ruprecht, Charlie O'Donnell remains announcer, and Rich Uncle Pennybags would be the mascot/co-host.
If I were in charge of a remake, I'd make it like the REAL game, but with 6 players, and also, whatever money the players have, they keep (unless they go bankrupt). Also, the winner moves on to Once Around the Board, but there's absolutely NO penalty for a bad space, 4 rolls max (unless doubles), and $500 is awarded per space if the player should fail to reach GO. If a player should pass go, they win $25,000. $50,000 +$10,000 each day until won, will be awarded if the player lands EXACTLY on GO.
mtiller2006, do you think you can post 1 of the few episodes of "Monopoly" where the bonus round was actually won? I've never seen a bonus round win on the show in my life.
did anyone read the ending? It says they must roll on a property space, right there was where the problem was, I would put the Railroads, The Utilities for sale, and make the "Taxes" a punishing square for whoever rolled.
Wow that was short. I was think if there was a remake, I'd make the Bonus like the McDonald's game. Wherever the Contestant landed they Kept that property get a Monopoly and you get the Prize associated with it.
I found this show enjoyable!
