  • What i love about the star wars music is that, even though it was composed for a set of movies, the music is very universal(pun not intended). For instance, When listening to this track, I can imagine a vast caravan entering a strange new city, eventually being led up to the gates of some grand temple.

  • @DoubleDippingDon I imagine a grand caravan of xizors black sun mobile amrde entering a vast city like you mentioned with female dancers twirling and dancing at the right times. hahaha

  • Walking on the white abysm ground of gall spaceport with a wampa to the infinity!!!

  • Sounds like something from Indiana Jones

  • Dash Rendar: The Chuck Norris of Star Wars.

  • This is the extended version

  • As iconic as the Imperial March, Duel of the Fates or the Emperor's Theme.

  • @Triloh Amen, brother.

  • The thing i loved about this and N64 Game Boxes and previous system games was the artwork on them, as a kid and now i could stare at them nearly all day, Obviously nowa days, it just isn't the same in this way at all. Best childhood game i ever layed eyes on. No Worries, no troubles, just at home from school, sitting in front of the tv and playing this for hours on end, and i still do to this day and always will!

  • The spy is on the action on Team Fortress 2.

  • S**t that song is worth it a try.

  • ATTENTION!: Anybody that wants Xizor's theme, go to bee mp3 and type in Xizor's theme. It that's simple.

  • WHENEVER i hear this track, i don't have images of Dash blasting away enimies in Xizors Palace, BUT of Boba Fett Kicking Ass!!!!

  • In a strange way, this mosuci scares me o_O I always remember those strange silver and golden droids firing at me and at the end that crappy Gladiator droid's head's flying around and kills me... ZZZZZZZZZAP ZZZZZZZZZAP!

  • Amazing as fuck game.

  • What I didn't understand about this game is who is the guy that appears at the center of the box of the game, the one with blue eyes and that strange look, he never appeared on the game as I recall or did he??

  • @alejobradley He is in the game but more in the backstory. He is a major part of the plot. He never directly confronts Dash Rendar. Rendar is actually a minor character or side character of Shadows of the Empire. Dash does destroy the Skyhook, but I don't exactly know if Xizor died there.

  • @ContraCommando Whats funny however (I was pretty shocked myself, after enjoying the story of this game so much as a kid), is that in wookipedia, keyword: "Anakin Skywalker", it says that Vader ordered his men to attack Skyhock, whilst Rendar's name was never mentioned... what a shame. Haven't read through Rendar's page yet though, might be more info there.

  • @ContraCommando I think Xizor did die in the skyhook, as i recall he fleed into the skyhook when Leia was found by luke as Dash was setting pulse bombs.

  • @flaperise did you read the book?

  • @Aspartan3 I am going to assume you did and I was wondering if you can help me find the exact excerpt where Darth Vader tells Xizor that "The emperor isn't here and I am in charge" That was my favorite part of the book and can't seem to find it.

  • Always wanted to sex in a dark basement with candles and dark lighting with a goth chick to this theme. OH BEHAVE!

  • @1600Percent i just tried that, and omfg this music makes everything like 1000% better

  • @1600Percent

    Respect.

  • sounds like an epic boss battle theme!

  • im sure xizor is pronounced "she zor"

  • best song of the game.

  • Man... I keep pressing replay! I looo00OO00oove this theme! I think a remastered version could be great. Just the graphic, nothing else.

  • Just replayed this game today...

    Ah the memories...

  • WOW!!! How did you get this song!!!

  • Some Scary arse music that fitted the game so well. Ahh the 90's! That was a hard boss

  • IM CRYING MY FAVORIT GAME OF ALL TIME

  • this game was hard. Tried reinstalling it but it doesn't work on windows 7. :(

  • This was my favorite level. Favorite boss battle, too.

  • How could you not want this game when you see that package artwork when you were a kid.

  • @teamdoa Yeah! Is awesom!! When I wass 7 years old kid I was fascinated with this box in the game shop lol!

  • I always thought this music was epic

  • @MASR4 And it is. Joel McNeely is a colleague and good friend of John Williams and even Williams liked McNeely's original compositions as well as cleverly mixing in tracks from the score of the movies into this game.

  • omfg nostalgia

    thanks OP

  • Hey, this is my fav theme for this game, where diid you get it from? PLEASE get back to me :D

  • now i can download this from here fantastic music here another good music from N64 has come from Banjo Kazooie

  • wow its high definition sound

  • Ah, the memories. :·)

  • Lol I used to go to this level, stand still in the beginning, turn up the volume and me and my cousin would pull our jumpers halfway over our heads and pretend to be dancing trolls. Being 7 years old was a lot of fun xD

Time sure flies by. It's been at least 11-12 years since I last played this game properly. Damn...

  • @Frowaa Time to break out the 64 and pop this fucker in!

  • 1:02-1:31 changed how i thought about life

  • only 0:00 - 0:45 was in the game.

  • This game made me rage. So hard

  • I seriously used to clip the part at 45 seconds to about 54s and repeat it on my crappy windows recorder. but it still was awesome :P never played the game but looks cool

  • love the music you just dont realize how good it sounded when you were a kid beacuse the game was so much fun.

  • I never played the game, but this is a good soundtrack. Who disagrees, press Alt + F4^^

  • best VIDEOGAME OF ALL TIME. I played this from the time i was 4 to about 13. I'm 18 now and I love hearing the memories.

  • @NurutoMasterNo1

it's my favorite level to and my fave star wars game TOO!!

  • man i so wish they could redo this game but kept EVERYTHING the same and put it on 360 and ps3. i think id pizz myself

  • man i so wish they could redo this game but kept EVERYTHING the same and put it on 360 or ps3. i think id pizz myself

  • @romanrulz11 YEAH!! that would be awsome!

  • The amazing thing is that this piece sounds like something John Williams would do. 0:09-:023 sounds like a nastier version of the Harry Potter theme.

  • @kholsinger HOW DARE YOU COMPARE THIS TO HARRY POTTER!!!

  • my fave level of this game. and my fave star wars game of the old times

  • No no, i'd very dislike it being made as a first person shooter, this game should be left as a classic as it is. I wouldn't mind if they were going to do a remake like they did with perfect dark. Better frame rates. Better graphics and audio. But no a whole different intake towards the game. i mean some of the levels on here can take up to 40 minutes to complete lol. But this is my opinion.

  • @flaperise I hope it isn't a WII exclusive, that would SUCK!!!

  • @GeorgeBondOO7 That comment i made was 9months ago, look what has happend to Goldeneye, the game designer has spoken out in outrage to what activision has done to it. Looks nothing like it's original, and Pierce Brsonan has been cutt out :S. It's true to say that everyone who loves the originals have fear in these being remade. For them it's a total cash in.

  • @flaperise You're right. I'd love to see a remake of Shadows of the Empire,.... but I saw what Nintendo did to Goldeneye007 remake, and now I'm not sure if I would want a remake of any great game from the past, not if they're going to butcher it like they did to 007..... :-/

  • @Flabernat Flabernat i completely 100% Truelly agree with you. I've said this since the start of hearing about these remakes especially on Goldeneye. They see them has a great money making product but doesn't relate towards the original or the nostalgia of the content. Just the Branded name is all they want. What would be good if they were Rereleased in HD and available on wider platforms maybe. But nothing will beat it's original player the N64.

  • They need to remake this game as first person shooter on the xbox 360. It would be awesome

  • yes they should

  • Ahh..This game was fun, and, it still is..

  • i love this level!!!!!! i got all of the levels granted with only one level beat on my n64 for this game! and know it is dinide

    (i know it's impossable)

  • 1:02 - 1:13 are my favorte parts

  • ahhh memories form when i was ten :)

  • Fantastic ! Shadows Of The Empire Was Also Played In Germany =)

  • yeah, i'm german and i played it too, but the game only released in english xD

childhood memories.. I havent understand a word but it was awesome xD

  • It almost sounds like I'm watching a Star Trek episode where they fight Klingons.

  • Wonderful. Simply wonderful.

  • its amazing how as soon as the tune starts your mind can recall the details of the level even after years of absence.

  • I fucked this game up to a perfectly good tune. . . The music makes me feel like a bad ass. lol

  • My first n64 game!

  • @CharlesFernando7

    Actually same here.

  • when i was kid this song scared me a lot! lol

  • per essere un gioco ormai vecchio è stupenda, da l'atmosfera da star wars in modo unico

  • who composed this?

  • joel mcneely :P

  • bellissima soundtrack...bei tempi quando giocavo a questo gioco...

    :)

  • wow I can really see why Williams personally recommended Joel McNeely

  • Actually Williams didn't have anything to do with the SOTE soundtrack for the book or game. Thats one of the many belivible rumors about the soundtrack.

  • Oh man, I now remember fighting the giant robot guy at the end! I remember that I had been saving up my special ammo and I just dumped most of it into him, since it was three separate parts, the body, head and torso I think...

  • Funny, I just did that today.

  • Ah, the memories of shooting dianogas in the sewers to this music. Good times. SOTE was such a good game and is still fun to play every now and again.

  • can we please have a download sir?

  • My favorite song in the game!!! I miss this game

  • Where i can download the soundtrack?

  • What movie from the SW saga is this from?

  • It's from the Shadows of the Empire Video game, which takes place in between episode V and VI

  • actually this soundtrack is made for the book, then the soundtrack came out, then the game.

  • I love this song and the guard designs! I miss this game.

  • This game was kind of scary in a way. The music was dark and so where the environments.

  • I see that, the stupid octopus dianoga things in the sewer scared me as a kid

  • Joel McNeely really impressed me. Big time.

  • Jedi difficulty = hardest... boss... in... the world

  • yeah

  • oh....the good ol' memories. I remember just being completely immersed in this game it was just so awsome. Add the fact that I am a star wars fan and I just lost hours in there. If the team that id The Force Unleashed re-did this, imagine the possabilities..

  • They should re-release this game for the latest generation consoles.

  • pretty nice.. this is very reminiscent of the Old Star Trek show music.

  • So true oddjobs reminds me of the music that came along with fights that kirk was involved in.

  • This was my favorite piece of music from this game!

  • cool soundtrack and very good game

  • By far the best song in the game. I'd say the sewers are a close second. Anyone know the name of the song in the Train level? This song is featured btw on the soundtrack, but it is sadly only this long.

  • The train level song is "Hyperspace" from the Empire Strikes Back soundtrack

  • Thanks a bunch!

  • shadows of the empire "ord mantell"

according so some other youtube video

  • In these Days i hated the Endboss...

  • Me too... *sigh* I just played through the game on normal, and it took me 3 tries! O_O

  • Where do you get this song? I don't think it's in the SOTE soundtrack. It doesn't seem to have the unique songs in the game that don't come from the movie soundtracks.

  • It is

  • very cool sountrack

  • I love this theme!!! 5/5!! Damn! I can't rate!! Oh well, awsome vid!! XD

  • If you enable ratings again tenike1 I WILL give this a 5, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone else here would as well.

  • This level took forever, especially that fight with the Gladiator Droid!

  • Steven Seagal was a pornstar in the 80s

  • MUST BE LONGER!

  • one of the best star wars games

  • yeah thats the hardest boss for me but i always saved distruptor rounds for him when his head was just floating cuz that laser beam took a bunch of damage

  • Trying to destroy the Gladiator Droid on the Jedi Difficulty made you feel like you could take on the entire empire yourself...

  • I once played this game on a relative's old nintendo64. It was awesome.

  • OLD as hell game but i still have it lol

  • This is my favourite theme too, ahhh the old days T_T

Btw, is there a website where you can download the complete soundtrack of the game or you recorded it by yourself?

  • oh man i loved this game as a kid

  • dude!!! i was SO obessed with this game when i was like SOO YOUNG i remember getting my n64 for christmas and the first game was star wars happiest moment of my life , i miss this game so much, id rather play this than any other game in the world, can you still buy it? can i buy it off you? 100 dollars? dude ill do anything, i have Star Wars The Force, i cant play it ,i need dash, i need Xizor and his Black Sun enemies, did u know that the game is all real info from The story of star wars?

  • Yeah... you are obsessed. Try looking on eBay for a used copy that's like $3. It will save you some money.

  • One of my favorite games ever.

  • *looks at the player's choice seal*

Damn right It's a player's choice, this game rocks!

  • ONE OF THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFTS EVER!

  • really? which 1

  • In the Special Edition of A New Hope, you can see Dash Rendar's Outrider taking off from one of the space ports in Mos Eisley.

  • THIS GAME IS THE SICKEST I REMEMBER BEATING ALL OVER AGAIN EVERDAY lol Dash should of been shown in 1 of the star wars movies

  • he was..

  • Where did you get this music? From the SotE soundtrack? Because I'm not sure if the music in that Cd is the same as the music from the game.

  • I did extract this excerpt from the CD. This is only about one-fourth of the entire track. The CD itself... I don't like it much. Most of the music in the game is from the movies, aside from Xizor's Palace and the sewers, if I recall correctly. The in-game music for the sewers is better than what was on the CD. However, the Xizor's palace music is better-quality because it came from the CD, so that's why I uploaded this as opposed to using the game's music.

  • This song is half of the actual song of the game. The actual song lasts about four minutes and the theme used in the game is the last two minutes of the song.

  • 1.) Use some nouns as opposed to pronouns. It's confusing for those who don't know how to speak English (99.999999999% of the idiots on the internet).

2.) If 1/4th (25%, or 0.25) of the song isn't good enough for you that you have to say 1/2, why don't you just find out the exact percentage for us? =]

  • Xizor's Theme from the Shadows of the Empire Soundtrack lasts 4:40. The song that plays in the game starts at the 3:00 mark, however the actual theme starts roughly at 2:30.

  • That's not what I asked for.

  • You just said all people on the internet are idiots and that almost none of them can speak english, i hope you don't really think that.

  • You're not doing anything but reinforcing what I already think.

  • I won, you said "99.999999999% of the idiots on the internet", wich means you contradicted yourself and insulted yourself at the same time.

  • Touche.

  • unless oyu were looking for an arguement without verbal abuse, then i would seee why your response was so dull... then i woudlnt mind going on with the arguement

  • However, you still can't write in proper English and it enforces my idea of all/99.999999999% people being dumb. What have you really won? =]

  • I'm not in any position "ot" tell you what you can and can't do? Well, how about this? YOU CAN'T WRITE PROPERLY! =]

Anybody can play with words and claim they won something, even when no sanctioned contest was setup beforehand.

I was being generous when you caught me with a first-grade tactic, even though 99.9~ can mean "all." (Both our faults.)

So be a coward and don't bother replying. I personally would rather not to have a discussion or an argument with you as well. =]

    Good bye.

  • urt a joke, kid you try to piss me off.. just loko stupid yourself you fell for hte same trick that dumbass swede i beat a couple days ago did. great going! and, i still won theres always winning and losing in an arguement. thats what they are and be a coward? so you provoke me to reply... and then say you dont want me to? make up your mind for christs sake seriously you still need a life though i bet you dont even have 50 awards in sports
  • and i say once again, i write perfectly when required.

  • mmm, well youve lost:\

    im not "starting this up"

its been going for some time now

    :)

  • Shadows of the Empire = the next 3D/CGI animated Star Wars movie that should be made, just don't let George Lucas anywhere near it

  • This game was so fucking scary! ie: sewers and the palace level. And the Xizor's Palace boss! OMG!!!

  • The music did the job well. The bounty hunter theme is always dark and morose.

You know a game is GOOD when you feel that emersed in the game that you experience fear.

  • Loved this song since the first time I played the game back in '97! <3

  • It's great. Right up there with the "Imperial March". Imagine hearing this and IM in one movie.

  • lol ya fuck face mgee

    great music and game 5/5

  • Xizor is such a cumslut...

  • I loved this game so much, i still have my copy and play it now and then xD

    Go Star Wars!

  • This game brings back SO many memories. I rented the game about 12 times because it was always sold out. Such a great game.

  • jesus, that must've cost you like $50

  • that game was so cool

  • this game was scary, so dark

  • there is a cd soundtrack album with all the music from the 10 levels from the game, go on amazon and type it in, joel mcneely the composer.

  • ah i just listened to a 30 second clip and it's not the music that was in the game, which i fort it was, the cd was bought out for the book of shadows of the empire, my bad!!

  • wat did u type to get the song

  • Shit, I remember this place. Oh the sewers lmao.
