  • mas falta de respeto el que escribe esas groserias

  • jajaja... comemierda!! El que se mete conmigo, se mete con Shango!!

  • No te olvides tu que tu eres aprendiz! Yo llevo 22 anos en esto!

  • Who are you studying with in Cali?

To follow the Oru Seco, I recommend Ilu Aña from Regino Jimenez or Fundamento Yoruba de Papo Angarica which also has a bunch or rezos. For Oru Cantado the Abbilona series shows a common way of playing a tambor, watch out for the viros!

  • To follow the Oru Seco I recommend to Pancho to play with Dennis a little more often!

  • cabron... no te olvides que tengo una foto tuya en donde estas tirado en el suelo!

  • Hello! We played la topa de Elegua often before recording. My teachers took different paths in order to teach me the rhythms based on what rhythms I caught onto faster during my short time learning with them. Thanks for your observations and comments.

  • Hey Wuakeen!

19 seconds into the video, the cajero is calling Imbaloke. Then he moved on to Yokota. At 1:19 he calls Inle but you went with ñongo. At 2:08 he is calling Imbaloke again but then he goes with Oggun. After that he call Ochosi (Aguere and Iyesa). At 4:09 he is calling Inle but after the no show he moves to Oggun and Ochosi again! Did you play for Elegua before recording?

  • Thanks for putting up these videos btw. I used to hate how if you search santeria it would show a bunch of weirdos sings some dumb song by a horrid band who knows nothing about the religion.

  • Thank you for your input and the website address. I'm very interested in the different drumming styles between Matanzas and Habana so please keep me informed of any other footage you come across.

  • yes in habana that is for ogun in matanzas it is played for ochosi. in matanzas we have other rhythms for ogun.

If you would like to see good examples of matazas style drumming on video check out www.kabiosile.org my padrino put out a few videos showing the presentation of iyawos. He has a new video out now too that shows Bembe and guiro as well as bata. It has some very nice rare interviews with him speaking about the religion.

  • this was somewhere in habana? or with people from there no? The last rythem in matanzas is for ochosi.
