  • The Dolls were DOLLS!

  • Sounds too much like a Supremes "Baby Love" or "Where Did Our Love Go" copy

  • They look like they're about 15 years old.

  • LEAD SINGER IS GOERGUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!Must be african american X mexican cross, either way she is beautifull. and can sing like an angel!!!!!!!!! I love the dolls!!

  • Wow these girls are fantastic! Great vocals and backup harmonies! I admit I never heard of them or this song, but I'm a fan now!! Excellent and I love the video!

  • What label were they on? Cool song & video. Never heard of them or the song. Expanding my horizons here. Been to much into Mary Wilson & Diana Ross & the rest of those people.. I'm So Proud of mysel,, lol

I know who The Dolls are now...

  • @lifelove240 LoL me 2

  • they sound great and look great

  • Great video, audio quality here. Catchy song too!

  • THE!!!! BEAT was a 1/2 hour syndicated Rhythm & Blues and Soul music TV show out of Nashville, Tennessee. It ran for one year (1966) and all the episodes were in color. THE!!!! BEAT was hosted by pioneering R&B disc jockey Bill "Hoss" Allen who interviewed the artists and kept the proceedings moving along. I didn't write this...I just found it on the net.

  • @garymichael1950 The last episode (with Otis Redding as the host) seems to have been taped some eight months later, though.

  • @SixtiesPopGold Cool! This is the first time I've seen any of these clips. I really appreciate you sharing this great stuff!

  • That lead singer reminds me of Ronnie Spector....VERY nice! I love this.

  • This looks like it was filmed yesterday! I love these ladies. I'm glad this video has re-surfaced on youtube.

  • This IS a gorgeous sound! And the lead singer looks just like a girl in a book I'm reading/writing

  • Aj takéto hrôzy kedysi existovali. :o((

  • wow! the quality is so good that it looks like it was filmed in modern day!

  • @yokhana I was thinking the same thing when I played it. Awesome quality for the time period given indeed.

  • Actually this was the b-side, wasn't it? "And That Reminds Me" was the one I heard on the radio. It is available on "60's Girl Groups" on Warners. The year was 1966. It was released on their Loma sub label. Another great tune on that label was "God Bless The Girl And Me" by the Enchanters. Well worth looking for!

  • That little gal on the right has some attitude. When was this? From the outfits, which I think look great and I wish that look and color would come back again today..I'd say we're looking at '67-68. Anybody know?

  • @WickedTornado It's from a local Texas show called "The Beat", around January 1966.

  • @SixtiesPopGold Well, I was close...saying 67 or 68. From the fashion colors on the gals I didn't think it would be from early '66.

Dang, they'd probably be in their mid sixties in age now. Wonder how they each ended up?

  • @SixtiesPopGold what city in Texas?

  • @Sixtiesfreak Probably from Houston.

  • @WickedTornado As far as I know the Dolls recorded the song in 1964. (not saying that was when the show was).

  • @WickedTornado She does have a little "Tude"...I like her though, song's a winner too..

  • @DMZScoutDog Yeah, totally agree with you, ScoutDog. Cool chick, very good tune to begin your career with. She is in control....that appears obvious. Pretty tough to pull off when you're lip-synching...which I think they are....and probably all did back in the day. Man...there was sooo much great music coming at us from every-which-way back then. Artists had a ton of freedom. Not so today...these poor kids have to listen to total bunk. BUNK ...everywhere you turn your radio dial.

  • So glad for cats like you! This was amazing!

  • Who is the main singer? (To the Far Right?) -God she is so pretty-And, a lovely personality, too! What happened to them? They had a nice sound. AND pretty girls, too

  • I'd pooh my pants if I could see the Dolls footage with Norma Jenkins singing Aeroplane song

  • @Variotronic09 Well then, I'm glad it's not available to you.

  • Not sure if I've ever heard of The Dolls or this song. Glad that I came across this! Really wonderful song! Great voices!

  • From 1966-67 Dallas TV Show "The Beat".

    Brilliant regional TV.

    Brilliant music!

  • quality is amazing!

  • Anyone have the b side to this song? "And that reminds me"?

  • @mawledpiles I tried to upload it, but YT wouldn't let me. Probably owned by Warner or Universal. Tragic!

  • How can you not fall in love with these gals.

  • Cool group! They were from Waco. Does anyone know if this is the same Dolls who recorded "This Is Our Day" for Maltese Records?

  • GREAT clip and song! The b side to The Dolls "And That Reminds Me". The Dolls were from Texas. They vanished too soon!

  • The Dolls, singing "The Reason Why", released in 1966 on Loma 2036-
