ODD? The Swift light is a very nice foot launching glider (the best from hang glider category), realy nice to fly and very efficient (but very expansive), exists in motorized self launching version with à 18hp 4 stroke Bailey engine and wheels...

On this video, the wind is very strong (~50km/h), but laminar, so that it's posible to take off on place...This guy don't having "trouble", but play with the wind...

Itś the Swift. And it is a really good Glider! It wins many Competitions and the heavy Wind in this Film is no Problem.

The Pilot only will play a little Bit with the feeling to come step by step in the Air and then flying in the Hangwind.

But I doubt it can handle a strong gust of side-wind during the take-off (it can happen). In that case the control will be lost because he doesn't have enough room to shift his weight to the other side, so it will make it turn back and fall to the side of the mountain too fast.

it's a type of hang glider instead of warping the wing to turn it use flaps and ailerons to turn. You land like you take off with your feet,and there are wheels two. Been doing this since i was 14 the called rigid wings. the more like real planes they are I think harder to thermal than most ( I think) But i have not been in one

its a glider. it uses rising air currents called thurmals. it depends on the piolets skill about how long they can fly.

hang gliders use the same princabul and normal gliders.

I think, he will land the same way, he started. Feet down, and reduce airspeed to minimum. Thats the way, paragliders land too. Its shure too dangerous to land sitting on this integrate toilet seat.

Good damn u ignorant people! This type of a flying device is called the Svift. Its actualy a type of a hangglider, but in my oppinion its a sailplain. Its produced by a Aerian i think a Belgian firm. Glide ratio aprox 21:1 or more.

this is not a new airplane, is a SWIFT by AERIENNE, an ultralight foot lounchable glider....the project has about 10 years

there is nothing scary in this take off because the place is monte Cucco in central part of italy, where the wind is often strong but laminar, ideal to joke during take off, like the man does....
