Imam Ibn Hajar confirmed that Mawlid is a good act, and so did Imam as-Suyutiy and many others. Only wahhabis consider it as haram!!
THe mawlid itself is not haram, it's a good way to thank Allah and praise the Prophet. However if some do wrong things in the Mawlid then we correct them and teach them. Sufism is learning the religion and applying it, many sufis today don't know the real sufism.

Ibn Qayyim also mentions `Abdullah ibn Rawaha's long poem praising the Prophet (s) as the latter entered Mecca, after which, the Prophet (s) prayed for him. He prayed that Allah support Hassan, another poet, with the Holy Spirit as long as he would support the Prophet (s) with his poetry. Similarly the Prophet (s) rewarded Ka'b ibn Zubayr's poem of praise with a robe. Ibn Qayyim continues, "`A'isha always recited poems praising him and he was happy with her."
Ibn Qayyim on the Singing and Recitation of Poetry:
`Allama Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya wrote in his book "Madarij as- Salikin," Vol. 1: "the Prophet (s) also gave permission to sing in wedding celebrations, and allowed poetry to be recited to him. He heard Anas (r) and the Companions praising him and reciting poems while digging before the famous battle of the Trench (Khandaq) as they said: "We are the ones who gave bay'ah to Muhammad for jihad as long as we are living."

What's a Bid'ah? Its not a hukum..there's only 5 hukom if you know and Bid'ah is not one of them. Mawlid is for good purpose. This is Imam Ibn Taymiyya's opinion about Mawlid from: "the Collected Fatwas," ("Majma' Fatawi Ibn Taymiyya,") Vol. 23, p. 163: "To celebrate and to honor the birth of the Prophet (s) and to take it as an honored season, as some of the people are doing, is good and in it there is a great reward, because of their good intentions in honoring the Prophet (s)."

- Scholars approved and said it was good such as Ibn Hajar and Suyutiy and others.
- Contents in Mawlid comply with the Qur'an and Religion
- Mawlid is about reciting Qur'an, dhiker, teachcing about the Prophet, saying salat and salam on the Prophet which has great rewards!!

Imam Ibn Hajar confirmed that Mawlid is a good act, and so did Imam as-Suyutiy and many others. Only wahhabis consider it as haram!!
THe mawlid itself is not haram, it's a good way to thank Allah and praise the Prophet. However if some do wrong things in the Mawlid then we correct them and teach them. Sufism is learning the religion and applying it, many sufis today don't know the real sufism.

He did not tell his ummah that celebrating the day of his birth was something prescribed so that they would do that. He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do that during his lifetime and his companions (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who were the dearest of people to him and the most knowledgeable of his rights did not celebrate that day

If celebrating the Prophet's birthday was prescribed, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would have told his ummah of that, because he is the most sincere of people and there is no Prophet after him who could explain anything he did not speak about. He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the Seal of the Prophets and he explained to the people what he had to explain of the truth, such as loving him and following his sharee'ah,

I do not know of any basis for this mawlid in the Qur'aan or Sunnah, and there is no report that any of the scholars of this ummah, who are examples in matters of religion and adhere to the path of those who came before, did this. Rather it is an innovation (bid'ah) which was introduced by those who have nothing better to do, and it is a means for them to have fun and eat a lot.

It was narrated from 'Aa'ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever introduces anything into this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected." Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2550; Muslim, 1718.
According to a version narrated by Muslim (1718) he said: "Whoever does an action that is not in accordance with this matter of ours will have it rejected."

Brothers please note that taking part in the Mawlid is NOT Bida. There is good bida and bad bida. Remembering our Prophet (saw) and thanking Allah for sending him as Mercy on us to guide us is never harmful. If you are talking bida. The Azaan was never instructed to us by our Lord. It is our own way for calls to prayer. The line 'Salah is better than sleep' for Fajr Prayers is another example of good additions to the Azaan. So please stop criticizing the beautiful gatherings of the Mawlid.

Ibn Qayyim also mentions `Abdullah ibn Rawaha's long poem praising the Prophet (s) as the latter entered Mecca, after which, the Prophet (s) prayed for him. He prayed that Allah support Hassan, another poet, with the Holy Spirit as long as he would support the Prophet (s) with his poetry. Similarly the Prophet (s) rewarded Ka'b ibn Zubayr's poem of praise with a robe. Ibn Qayyim continues, "`A'isha always recited poems praising him and he was happy with her."

Those people could've showed more love and respect for the prophet pbuh by using that time to actually read and understand 3 or 4 authentic hadiths from the prophet's sunnah.
