Now I understand why everyone hates Christians!! They really don't see how ugly and awful they are!! Self delusion and surrounding themselves with others who hate just like them insulates them from the world around them and those of us who wish they would just disappear!!
@SeattleRexx Yes I agree. Christians, like many other peoples of faith, misinterpret and bend the text of the Bible or other religious books, to fit their own personal agenda. Christianity is all about kindness, forgiveness, compassion, and love. Jesus tells us to love all people because we are all God's children. Real Christians who follow the teachings of Christ, hate no one.
no they didn't. the founding fathers were secularists. they wanted to keep religion out of government because a healthy democratic society thrives on reason and rational thought. in some of their diary entries, benjamin franklin and thomas jefferson admitted to being atheists.
Very good prayer. I agree with the majority of his statements, but sadly the Founders, specifically George Washington, were not all publicly passionate Christians, as Rev Dean implies. (Washington only mentioned Jesus a total of 3 times in all his writings and he regularly left his church's service to avoid partaking in Communion.) Greatest ending to the prayer: "in Jesus' name!"
btw- as a Christian he must love gays, for we are all sinners loved by G-d himself.
@G43sniper, very good prayer? Do you seriously think your magical master of the entire universe listens to idiots like you talking to themselves? You're a gullible cowardly moron. Grow up or shut up.
Dean never said anything about death penalty for gays. More Leftist twisted thinking and smears. Just because you create an emotional and outrageous lie doesn't make it true.
Just not much good I can say about a person that is honored enough to be asked to conduct the opening prayer on the House floor and wears a *track suit*. Hella respect for your country there, BradlEE.
Poster, Bradlee Dean has NOT approved "the death penalty for gays". That is a deliberate misquote by the media and the homosexual rights crowd. You would do well to do a little research on your own before quoting the hacks in the media. In the misquote in question, Dean was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of the left which goes out of it's way to defend, justify and protect Islam--which calls for the death of homosexuals--while claiming to defend, justify, protect and care for homosexuals.
Minnesota should be ashamed that their elected officials invite this POS into the chambers of state government...much less to fucking speak before them...and a prayer no less. What a pathetic and disgusting event.
@lastdaysguitar The invisible imaginary wizard can 'bless' this pathetic excuse for a representative of the teachings of christ all he wants. He is still 10lbs of shit in a 3lb bag.
Christians were the 1st to REACT and to assist in the HIV outbreak in Africa years ago. They're still there today at the risk of their own lives. Bradlee Dean is THAT kind of man - a faithful follower of Jesus. Why do Gays think he's a hater? In any world tragedy Christian Organizations are the 1st to arrive looong before any Gov't organization.
why is everyone labeling him a bigot? because he loves his country and the constitution? Why don't you immigrants assimilate and if you hate the U.S. so much just go home...the pledge of allegiance is part of the American tradition and if it hurts your little sensitive heart leave the home of the brave...our country has catered to you long enough.....-fellow immigrant-
We are "one nation under God" so our nation was founded under God. Not sure if you have ever read the constitution...or have ever even heard someone say the pledge of allegiance... this guy did nothing wrong. Dont be a hater
I support Bradlee Dean, and I support his lawsuit on Rachel Maddow because she is a mocker: She derides, she ridicules, insincere, intentionally frustrates the issues, turns them into confusion, twists the meaning to her own agenda, and attempts to spin the genuine into a counterfeit. A MOCKER is hostile, takes pleasure in causing harm and discord. It is written that a mocker will hate you for making any corrections to them, lacks discernment, and such actions are all INHERENTLY EVIL.
How can the this professed bigot be allowed to even be invited let alone "pray" in the Minnesota House Chamber? Our mission, my friends, must be to NEVER vote a single Republican into office again. This is repugnant to say the least!
@halcyon0830 Your the troll here. If you actually investigated with a little googling, you would know Maddow was shown as a liar and instigator on CNN the same night as her bullshit "news"cast. All you liars and slanderers will figure that out in the end.
Okay just read online where this idiot is suing Rachel Maddow, NBC for defamation of character attacking his conservative Family values! For $50 million what another nut job. It does say there is connection between he and Michelle Bachmann and his ministry. Rachel and NBC should turn around and counter sue. What makes his beliefs and speech more than Rachel's? Lastly, if you know what her show is about why would you even watch it? The blind leading the blind and yes what is he doing on the hous
Here is one reason The US is as screwed up as it is, the dumb asses are praying and with absolute shit stains at that. It should not be legal for them to pray.
What is it to you what religion President Obama follows, Reverend Dean? NEVER insult our President based on his religion! He can follow whatever religion he damn well wants, like any other US citizen.
What? You believe you are somehow better of a human being than our current President merely because YOU follow a particular denomination in Christianity? That is real sad...
And moreover, Bachmann was mentored by Prof. John Eidsmore, christian fanatic, who could envision Jesus carrying an M16 and who dedicated a lot of space in one of his books musing about "the feasibility of criminalizing blasphemy."!!!
Also: M. Bachmann makes a fiend of W.B. Yeats, the famous poet, calling him a "New Age Panteism guru" who was aggressively "undermining Christianity"..
What a Fuckturd.. The founding Fathers of the U.S.A were Deistists not Theists, you dumdshit..and Freemasons,too...Do your homework before you fucking start pontificating on Christianity..another brainwashed, fanatical, wacko..
a real beast let loose by the christian right wing. this is where america would go left to the likes of michele bachmann or sarah palin. a dark and frightening hole in a madness walking under a cross wrapped in an american flag. a preacher of hate.
They ought to take people like this guy, strip them of their citizenship and deport them. This isn't even about freedom of speech. This is someone who is trying, through political means, to deny taxpaying citizens of their rights and kill them for their sexual orientations and lifestyles. Basically, if you're someone who voices a desire to strip people of their rights or even to unlawfully kill people, you deserve to be removed from the society that you pollute.
I'm not fond of religious extremists of any stripe, including the Muslim versions, but your anti-terrorism rants on this video in particular are a little ill placed. Bradlee, the preacher here, has claimed Muslims who murder for religion are MORE moral than the Christians that don't because he (correctly) recognizes that the Christian bible calls for it in many situations.
.... "They died so we can have the freedom we have today"... to what??.. To illegaly invade countries? .. to steal their resources?.. mass murder them???... to be bigots? freedom to what? ASSHOLE
@Kriegtime101 are you kidding me??? He's a Christian and according to the bible, he hasn't done a single thing wrong. You people that support gays are an abomination to the Lord above and what do you think he does with such beings afterlife? DUH
I have a friend that was on the road with Bradlee Dean way back in his rock days. He did more cocaine, drugs, and drinking than the rest of them. Boy, did he make a turn. It would be different if he grew up and became responsible adult but instead he turned into a religious fanatical freak. Something must have gone seriously wrong.
Our nation was founded on a belief in God: "One Nation Under God, with Liberty and Justice for All". Not the individual religious groups, but God. God is not a religion. You are "free" to believe or not, as are those who do... but OUR Nation has an innate understanding of and allegiance to God! Lose that, and we lose our nation. I am thankful for the prayers before any gathering that make and uphold our laws. The best guidance possible.
2. What was the national motto when our nation was founded?
3. When was the Pledge of Allegiance written by that devoted socialist, Francis Bellamy?
4. In what year was Francis' Pledge modified to include the words "Under God"?
5. Since our nation was founded...I mean, FOUNDED...on a belief in God (as opposed to liberty, balance of powers, etc.), how many times, exactly does our Constitution mention the word "God"?
Definition of a "Gay hater" = insecure, ignorant, shamed. Those who take time and energy to fight the gays for wanting equal rights, are simply fearful of their own children "becoming" gay. The GLBT movement is only getting stronger, and therefore becoming more understood and accepted as REALITY. There's always been homosexuality, and that's just part of a normal cross-section of the population. Those who continue to stigmatize and dislike what homosexuality is, are insecure with THEMSELVES.
~~> What is wrong with this dude?? I thought Jesus preached love thy neighbor... Didn't see the fine print list of exceptions to the rule... Its times like these that make me wish to see GOD actually strike someone down... What a joke of a pastor... I suggest an audit of his church basket...
Great freedom comes from accepting people and circumstances as they are. Through acceptance, I release my need to control or change people or situations that are not mine to control. Peace comes from allowing things to unfold as they will. Through acceptance, I am free to embrace every situation and every person in a spirit of love.
The most important person for me to accept is me. I see myself as a child of God following a divinely inspired path to spiritual unfoldment. I let go of self-criticism and trust God. With a renewed sense of freedom and peace, I accept the people and circumstances in my life with love. I give thanks for the blessings they bring.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.--John 13:35
@Anomki hahaha- academy award for you accepting the world hahaha- are you listening to Michael Jacksons We Are The World with your boyfriend smoking your dinner? I can tell the lights are on but there is nobody home huh dickhead
has anyone told him he is one stroke of eyeliner away from being a drag queen? it is quite sad to see a homosexual, so in hate with themselves, that they have to go and make a public disgrace of themselves. come out, come out, bradlee. ("bradlee"??? could that spelling be anymore gayer?!)
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. ~Black Elk, Oglala Sioux
A study at University College London in the UK has found that conservatives' brains have larger amygdalas than the brains of liberals. Amygdalas are responsible for fear and other "primitive" emotions. At the same time, conservatives' brains were also found to have a smaller anterior cingulate -- the part of the brain responsible for courage and optimism.
@Anomki Can you point me to this study - I have always believed this instinctively but I would love to see this study. I believe there must be a lot of similarity between conservative brains and religious brains. One of the reasons why I believe that religion is so widespread but is nonetheless on a decline (see Arab Spring, reaction against intelligent design, Internet etc) is that these areas are essentially ancient and man brain is evolving away from these primitive instincts.
@Anomki Yes, nicely done--! groobiecat.blogspot.com --for more info on this subject... And btw, did anyone notice that this guy is confused about his history? "From World War I to World War II...to Korea, Father. To Korea and Iwo Jima...and Viet Nam." Um, dude, Korea and Iwo Jima? Iwo Jima was part of World War II. But hey, yeah, whatever, man. And this guy is partners with Michelle Bachmann, who is the leading republican candidate for president? Wow. Truly surreal...
@Anomki that is interesting and I was curious if you could email the link or info on reading about the study. It is true the right and radical right use fear to scare people into things that are lies and the left and progressives do seem to think ahead or realize that time and eras change and or more optimist. I am an independent because I believe that not belonging to a party gives me more freedom to vote, however, lately I am leaning toward the left because of the tactics the right uses, FEAR!

Mr. Foderick, you embarrass yourself with your willful ignorance of the 1st amendment. FINISH reading it before you take out just what you want it to say. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." There you have it. It is plain as day. Ignore it at your peril.
This is the only part that I left out of my quote:
"...or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"
What part of this has to do with religion in government? What part of that is relevant to the issue at hand OR your argument? Please do tell.
"FINISH reading it before you take out just what you want it to say"
LOL. Tell that to yourself when reading my comments
It's always fun when "what I want it to say" and what it SPECIFICALLY SAYS are the same thing. LOL. Is this your generic reply that you use when someone brings up a part of the First Amendment?? What the hell are you even trying to say LOL?
My point is crystal clear: keep your religion out of the people's government.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion".
James Madison, the "Father of the U.S. Constitution", along with many founders of this country, regardless of their religious or non-religious affiliations, knew keeping politics and religion separate not only preserves each, but helps them flourish: "The number, the industry, and the morality of the Priesthood and the devotion of the people have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the Church and the State."
Only the elimination of all conservative Christians will allow all Americans to be free and the world to no longer have to live in fear of the U.S.A.'s imperialist, terrorist holy war. The conservative ideology has never helped mankind in any way, it has not only never helped mankind in anyway, it has oppressed, murdered, raped and killed all those in it's way to gain power. History shows us this. Fact shows us this.
@madhatter0110 The person speaking in this video is on of the leaders of You Can Run But You Cannot Hide Intl., Inc., a hard rock ministry that holds Christian assemblies in public schools around the Midwest, said that locking up gays and lesbians in prison is the “right” and “moral” thing to do. A week earlier, the group said that countries instituting the death penalty for homosexuality are “more moral” than Christians in the United States.
@madhatter0110 The group broadcast live from the Heritage Foundation last weekend, offering another example of the group’s close relationship with the conservative movement.
On the group’s radio show, broadcast live from the Heritage Foundation on May 22, co-leader Jake McMillian praised the actions of the African nation of Malawi which has recently arrested a gay couple for getting engaged.
“They are very conservative,” he said. “They sentence people for crimes against nature.”
@madhatter0110 Frontman Bradlee Dean added, “They are very moral; they uphold the laws.”
McMillian continued, “We have got countries all over the world that are standing for what’s right and what’s wrong. In Rwanda, there’s legislation right now that repeat offenders of homosexuality will spend their life in prison.”
@madhatter0110 “Because they love and value life and they love and value that which God gave,” said McMillian. “And so they enforce laws against that which destroys life which again is crimes against nature”
The group brought in Bishop Harry Jackson, an anti-gay marriage activist in Washington, D.C., who praised the group’s work. “I believe a great awakening is about to come forth,” said Jackson. “I believe you are a part of it and those that hear the sound of your voice are revolutionaries.
Don't judge all Christians by this guy. The majority of Christians support gay rights. Like the majority of Muslims might support rights for women. It's not the people that are the problem, it's the beliefs in the scripture......

@Anomki I actually don't go to church- but I like picking on thin skinned pussy liberals like you who like to pick on religions who won't defend themselves - you are the true cowards in life - go smoke some more of your breakfast LOSER
@antidoteco You don't have to go to church to be a preacher's daughter. I didn't know I was picking on a defenseless religion, which one would that be?
@antidoteco You're the one who made the funny comment that there are religions who won't defend themselves. A real religion needs no defense. It's perennial and self evident. Maybe you could toke up and get on with life, and get some better ideas.
@Anomki - hey homo - whats wrong? sniffle xD did I hurt your feelings? my bad I was going for your balls but obviously you don't have a pair - boo hoo

@antidoteco Incompatible that is, with Nature and Nature's God (not that God's upset, no, God know's only love for Hir Creation and as the Creation). It's how we single out and separate from each other including humans and "the rest of Creation" rather than seeing and appreciating unprecedented cosmic experience before us and within. Wouldn't it be grand if they just all got a bong? More than that of course, and still a pow-wow at the metrodome (and all other places of civic congregation :)
@antidoteco Republicans and their ethnocentric homophobic religiosity are finding it challenging to rethink their roles rather than go extinct . The whole of the Republicans of this country would find it funny that Democrats and their ethnocentric morphobic scientific materialism is incompatible as the republicans dilemma (not that they don't share in one another's).

Personally, in Law, I think we should have Civil Unions, not "marriage". Marriage is a religious, aesthetic and/or a hardware issue.

He must be a bad ass to take on that beast
@antidoteco What are you afraid of my friend? @Anomki and don't call me your friend- but you can come over to my house on Thursdays..its trash day and I would love to throw a piece of shit like you on the street with the rest of the trash
@Anomki - hey drama queer - you'll get that daytime Emmy if you keep smoking your breakfast and beating on those drums in that circle jerk with the other high turds - cause you accept the world xD
@antidoteco Frontman Bradlee Dean added, “They are very moral; they uphold the laws.”
McMillian continued, “We have got countries all over the world that are standing for what’s right and what’s wrong. In Rwanda, there’s legislation right now that repeat offenders of homosexuality will spend their life in prison.”

@antidoteco So, I ask you, what's your purpose? Do you realize that your pathetic attempt at insults only diminish your authority? You are in essence asking for love and too afraid to admit it. Ok, don't worry, I love you, I gave up kicking ass when I was 13 (funny that you should act like a 13 year old). I suggest love and forgiveness happens as one seeks to understand beyond one's own prejudices and preconceptions. You don't piss me off or even frighten me, rather you tempt me to pity you.

@jh6713 OK...quick quiz!
1. When was our nation founded?

ACCEPTANCE
Freely and with love, I accept myself and others.
Great freedom comes from accepting people and circumstances as they are. Through acceptance, I release my need to control or change people or situations that are not mine to control. Peace comes from allowing things to unfold as they will. Through acceptance, I am free to embrace every situation and every person in a spirit of love.
Anomki 9 months ago
@Anomki

Anomki 9 months ago 31
@Anomki Can you point me to this study - I have always believed this instinctively but I would love to see this study. I believe there must be a lot of similarity between conservative brains and religious brains. One of the reasons why I believe that religion is so widespread but is nonetheless on a decline (see Arab Spring, reaction against intelligent design, Internet etc) is that these areas are essentially ancient and man brain is evolving away from these primitive instincts.

groobiecat 7 months ago

@Duluthguy427
Foderick 9 months ago
@Foderick

James Madison, the "Father of the U.S. Constitution", along with many founders of this country, regardless of their religious or non-religious affiliations, knew keeping politics and religion separate not only preserves each, but helps them flourish: "The number, the industry, and the morality of the Priesthood and the devotion of the people have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the Church and the State."
cpmondello 9 months ago 3
Only the elimination of all conservative Christians will allow all Americans to be free and the world to no longer have to live in fear of the U.S.A.'s imperialist, terrorist holy war. The conservative ideology has never helped mankind in any way, it has not only never helped mankind in anyway, it has oppressed, murdered, raped and killed all those in it's way to gain power. History shows us this. Fact shows us this.
