  • This shows you how great Cleveland area bands are. Go to any small bar on the weekend and someone is rocking out. Walking down the street and 3 Dog Night is jamming at a bar in Kent one night. Blossom Music Center where I graduated from and saw Cleveland Orchestra play the 1812 Overture and Pink Floyd. Cleveland Auditorium for Jethro Tull and Guess Who as opening band. Doors at Allen Theater for my first concert and on to the US Fest. Heaven to me all that great music and Rock and Roll Hall!OHIO

  • @oscarandbernie Cleveland was chosen by Bowie to kick off his first USA Ziggy tour back in Sept/October 1972. Reason also that he had a terrific fan base there even when he was quite obscure and wasn't selling albums.

  • @minutegongcoughs True, many bands were known to start off there. I saw Tull at Public Auditorium play Passion play and go on for over 3 hours. 3 days later in Pittsburgh, after an hour, they were ready to go. Show ended with Ian answering the phone...I was yelling "don't answer the phone!" He looked up and put down the phone. He played another 25 minutes and left the house in Pitt...had enough of the rookies yelling and not listening.

  • There is not one correct top ten guitarists list, in existence. Simply because,Phil Keaggy is on not one of them. Speaks volumes about how ill-informed these list makers are. This is Rock, at it's best!!!

  • This is one of the most beautiful rock songs I think I've ever heard. If only more Christian music could sound like Genesis! And the model for power trios like Rush and the James Gang--doing more with less!

  • @notfragile33 Sorry James Gang influenced The Harp

  • @socrates1818 I stand corrected, and I did think they was some connection between the two, being that both were similar Ohio-based, melodic power trios.

  • A Gem!

  • Yep, these are the boys who came to my high school and played at the after game dances. Ahhh those were the days. This was one of our favorite songs. It was way cool to hang out with them.

  • Rip the audio from this vid at thetunify doht cohm.

  • Is this Phill Keaggy singing?

  • @jerebica91 Yes that's Keaggy singing, he had one of the best voices perfectly fit with his Guitar.

  • december 3rd Kent Stage, Kent Ohio... see you there... !!!

  • This is the best blast form the past for a long time, love the drumming, Ginger Bakers equal. thanks to who ever put in on the net.

  • Excellent sound.

  • I can remember them playing this song at Public Hall in Cleveland Ohio in 1971 or 1972 and I can't remember who they were opening for ?? 3 dog night?

  • @airbuscaptain2000 I believe the Kinks were the main act that night as per Liner Notes in Live at Carnegie;I think they were also opening up for the Stones as well.

  • Used to go see them at Hullabaloo in Erie, PA. I have seen them twice over the years in their hometown, Youngstown, OH.

I can never get enough of Glass Harp!

  • Phil Keaggy;a nine fingered guitarist who can smoke anyone on guitar for diversity and style!Glass Harp,an excellent band! 'Never Is A Long Time' another brilliant song with a soaring solo!

  • Wow, I've never heard this, but it's positively stupendous!! Amazing!

  • ----->>> HarpMusicToGo (dot] com is healing thousands through music!

  • what a talented band , just heard these guys on sirius , thank God 4 sirius radio

  • that picture really shows just how young they (Phil Keaggy, especially)were at the time they were recording and touring...

  • i absolutely love the black and white picture you found of the glass harp/band sitting on a couch with the radio person/DJ holding a copy of the SYNERGY L.P.

  • As is the case bands like Glass Harp are highly collected in Japan. Have to thank the internet for people uploading some of the images.

  • @minutegongcoughs what other good obscure/unknown British or American classic rock bands are highly collected in Japan, or anywhere else for that matter. I just discovered this band, and wonder what other killer old time stuff is hidden away.

  • @HoweKathandKeaggy Check out the Swedish band November. They are really something!

  • @bkrbtlg08 thanks will do!

  • @wax3bee7 The DJ is Larry Morrow from WIXY 1260

  • Phil Keaggy would be about 18/19yrs when this was recorded. Thanx for posting this

  • @zaaaaazzzzz I got into Glass Harp/Phil Keaggy in 1971 when the "Glass Harp" album came out, it wan't in any of the regular records store but the off-beat ones where bands put out an LP and then normally you would never hear from them again. I found this one purely purchased by chance, never heard them play nor had I ever even heard of Glass Harp. I lost that LP and then it was out of print for like ever. Imagine my surprise to find out he has over 70 LP's. "Hello Again, Phil Keaggy!!"

  • @pdxpamelapdx Thanks for the story behind your LP
