@satamique Youtube is convenient for when I want to show musical examples to people over the internet, or similarly give recommendations. Streaming music is also a good way to preview music before buying, and I have bought a lot of because of Youtube. But record companies have never been interested in music as an artform; Rush was almost kicked from their label because of their artfulness, and you can bet Anthem hated 2112 at first, but the fans spoke and made it clear that greed is bullshit.
@TallMikeBismuth Just a quick correction on that. Anthem was the label created by Rush after they had become successful. They were signed with Mercury at the time. But still, it's BS. If it wasn't for Youtube, I wouldn't have heard Yes (second favorite band), ELP, Camel, or a bunch of other great bands that I now own albums from. In fact I just ordered Farewell to Kings and I wanted to listen to Cygnus while I waited for it in the mail. Damn Youtube! I paid for this already!

ya fucking YOUTUBE. 80% of the videos I try to watch have the audio stripped or the video removed. I had a video removed a few days ago because I had 1 minute worth or random movie clips in it?! WTF! I´m so sick of Youtube. I´m going to start somewhere else. anymore. This place sucks.
