  • This scene is suprising powerful. After all this time, this scene still rivets me. Carrie covered in blood, the red lighting, the fire behing her as she walks down the stairs. Great moviemaking!

  • man, what a massacre

  • What's this movie about????

  • @LizLopezOfficial it's about this girl with psychdolic powers. it's based on one of Stephen king's novels

  • Matilda for adults?

  • /watch?v=4PobWjwLRzQ - wooooah, Carries inferno!

  • did any of them live? in the book some did but they dont show any living in the movie some must of though.

  • 70s horror is and always will the best decade for horror movies!

  • Oh: There have been studies which suggest an increased ability to manipulate objects via "telekinesis" in young women 'round about the age of their first menstruation. If you reckon back to the shower scene in this movie, when they're all pelting Carrie with tampons and shouting "plug it up! plug it up!"... :(

  • On a side note: Both of the girls King based "Carrie White" off of, were dead by the time he published the novel. One was an epileptic who lived alone and died during a seizure when she fell on her head and had nobody to help her get up, the other shot herself shortly after giving birth to her first (and only) child.

    Don't tease people.

  • @Beheamouth666 Correction: I just looked it up, the girl killed herself after the death of her second child, not the first as I had earlier stated.

King elaborates on this: He claims that many people in his town suspected that it was "postpartum depression" which caused her suicide, however she had already been through one pregnancy, and he [King] suspects the cause may have been a "highschool hangover."

Either way: Don't torment each other... everyone will lose in the end.

  • ...actually, it's more appropriate to say "Carrie by Stephen King" as he wrote this book before it was made into a film. In fact it is the story which launched his career as an author. He based the character of Carrie off of two outcast girls he went to school with. :)

  • Classic cinema. Terrifying scene even to this day. Vintage Stephen King.

  • It gets better

  • There all gonna laugh at you :) classic

  • she got some scary ass eyes on her!!

  • When she turns around to climb down the stairs at 7:27 and her little frame is surrounded by flames it is hauntingly beautiful.

  • and so I shall name my daughter Carrie ;]

  • 7:26 is my favorite shot. That was hardcore! wow

  • yeaahhh i'd be pretty pissed if the happiest moment of my life was drenched in pig's blood.

  • Brian De Palma is genius!

  • @skittlehappymatt basically she klled herself over guiilt

  • SYDNEY LASSICK !!! :-)

  • I saw this one time by accident at 2 am.. Damn

  • You know...I love this movie...But I literally had to look up why the house caved in at the end, and apparently she brings the house down herself. But in the movie she like..OH GOD! and hides in the closet..totally confusing. But...I still loved it.

  • @skittlehappymatt she hid in the closet because she wanted to kill herself over killing everyone at prom chris and billy, hell even her mom even though she was a total religious nut!!!!!

  • @Sissysicks911 Stephen King is an anti-Christian bigot.

  • @mjn76 whoa there's no need to say that, if anyone is anti-christian it's stephanie meyer

  • @Sissysicks911 See also "Misery" for his depiction of psychopathic Annie Wilkes as a Christian. I am not familiar with Stephanie Meyer's books. Fortunately.

  • @mjn76 good they are all stupid with ridiculous messages and they have brain washed all tween girls into thinking that the whole story is "good". and i am not trying to down grade your opinion about stehen king being anti-christian, i really like him and his though. so try not to be too mean to him, thanks :)

  • @skittlehappymatt what actually happened was something that they ended up not showing. In the book, meteors fell from the sky (Carrie caused it) and so when the house was collapsing at the end, if you look closely you see rocks falling through the ceiling. Because of time and how crappy the exterior shot looked with rocks hitting the house, they decided to just set the model house on fire and cut out some stuff from the final cut.

  • This is one of my favorite scene, the music match perfectly with every single seconds, ain't no need words. "Pino Donaggio" made a wonderful perfomance, simple a masterpice an unforgettable scene by Bryan de Palma too. Since I saw the movie for the first time I was barely fifteen years olds,so I couldn't take out of my mind this music for a very long time, indeed it still freak me out!!! A classic horror movie!!!

  • The music build up to this finale makes it intense. Man do I recall seeing this at the movies in 1976. I love the 70's.

  • Many people have telekinetic movement, usually very sensitive people known as hsp's (highly sensitive people) I'm one of them.

  • This should show that you better watch who you mess with. Some people's energy is very sensitive and can make things happen.

  • crazy white girl!!

  • I hated how even the nice people died. -_-

  • @TheOldSchoolSims2 it's sad, but at the same time, it would be patronizing, I think, if they lived.

  • @TheOldSchoolSims2 ive remenber columbine XD the revenge is sweet

  • @TheOldSchoolSims2 but sue lived!

  • That's right, Carrie! Don't take any shit!

  • I think they all deserved it even though she couldn't control herself.

  • @ilovetroyramos the "funny" thing was that Sue Snell thought that Carrie killed Sue's boyfriend but that was the only person who died not because of her

  • best and scariest part, next to the last

  • Oh no... oh no... oh no! They're gonna buuurn!

  • I think I'm gonna go as Carrie for Halloween this year. I absolutely adore this movie. I was a major outcast in high school too (I don't mean a little unpopular... I mean boys would actually walk by me and set their lighters to me, then I'd get sent home not because I'd just been ON FIRE, but because my French teacher didn't like the smell of my burnt hair). Sometimes I'd watch this and wonder if the only difference between Carrie and me is that she had telekenesis and I didn't... you know?

  • @raggedyanarchist I'm really sorry that you had to go through that BS. But I'm pretty sure you're like model now, and all of your tormentors are fat, bald, ugly, and have a bunch of kids.

  • @BCoriginal1 Hahaha... what a very kind thing to say! You're sweet. I sure hope I didn't come across as too whiny and self-pitying. I just wanted to point out that it's a little creepy just how much I (and a lot of awkward teenagers, I would suppose) can identify with her reaction even if they're not normally violent. It's REALLY effective storytelling... just brilliant, really.

  • 4:05 "WHAT THA FUCK?!"

  • @60s4everdude *"WHAT THE HELL?!"

  • CARRIE OR JEAN GREY

  • @FoolishGames89 Norma wasn't the only one laughing. 5:05 5:10 and 5:17 proves that.I believe that some people may have felt sorry for her but most would continue to bully her.

  • @randomsmartchick the other laughing was in carries head

  • @TawneyNipah marry and marry don't rhyme.

  • But there a side to me no one ever knew, ever knew

All the things they'd say always getting though, getting through

And the games they played they would always win, always win

But she set fire to the rain

Watched it pour as I touched your face

Let it burn while I laughed

Cause It was screaming out their names

"they're all gonna laugh at you Carrie"

    Book ending > this

  • This scene is an absolute classic. It is an absolute masterpiece. It is without doubt one of the greatest works in American cinema.

  • In the book there were two buckets.

  • Jhon Travolta before The Disco Fever and before Battlefield Earth lol

  • CARRIE WAS JEAN GREY'S MOTHER LOL!!!! THIS EXPLAINS HOW JEAN GREY INHERITED THE PHOENIX!!!

  • christ she cant just suck it up

  • @ZGReelProductions She just got pigs blood poured on her. She's been bullied in school just about everyday,AND this was at prom, which means if the whole "Carries revenge" didn't happen people would make fun of her even more.I think it would be pretty hard for her to "Suck it up". =/

  • @ZGReelProductions Nope! Haha!

  • one of the best movie scenes of all time !! i still get goose gumps

  • 5:25 She's pissed!!!!

  • brian de palma is one of the most underrated directors ever.

  • I saw this film when I had 7 years old... And I see it now... i'm afraid xD

  • there should be a showdown carrie vs firestarter!!!!!

  • Carrie let the bitches have it!

  • isnt she LOVELYYYYYYYY

  • o_o buena escena

  • This is what happens when you piss off the wrong person one time too many.

  • she looks so scary at 5:23 :S

  • The teacher wasn't laughing at her. No-one was. Carrie was just imagining it.

  • Um dos 1º casos de algm se vingando da pratica de bullyng q sofria na escola,clássico D+,adorei a vingança de Carrie nos alunos idiotas!!!

  • why did the teacher laugh she was always helping carrie

  • @TheJoec2005 She doesn't really laughed, Carrie is in shock from being teased too many times and thinks everyone is laughing.

  • @TheJoec2005 the teacher wasnt laughing... the circles you see when Carrie is remembering her mother saying "they are all gonna laugh at you." is what is going on in Carries mind... some of the laughter was real, but some of it was just in Carries mind

  • hahahahahaahaa

  • Has anyone actually read the book? this is one good movie that seriously needs a do-over dont get me wrong its a great movie but nothing like what happened in the book.

  • @13049722007 I did –a long time ago- and I wish the movie would have incorporated the town destruction that follows. Yes, I remember that the book was more like an investigation etc. I know that –for instance- Stephen King said he wished he would’ve thought about the way Carrie’s mother was killed in the movie, he was pleased obviously. New versions were disastrous and today’s world has lost the gullibility and innocence that proved so valuable for this movie.

  • @magnvss It was an amazing book but they didnt follow it what so ever Carrie wasnt a beautiful thin lady she was an awkwardly shy and slightly obese misfit with pimples the carrie in this story wouldve never got picked on in real life. and she had left the gym and then ripped the pumps out before locking the doors and setting off the sprinklers, it was kind of sad she just wanted them to ruin their pretty dresses and she shorted out the electrical system and burned the whole damn thing down

  • The screams of terror...that was the best part...O_O

  • I fucking love this movie

  • probably one of the best scenes.

  • @coz1843 yes and that price is the sweet release of death

  • i live the name of Carrie's Revenge

  • "yes carrie do that which i have taught you kill any one who opposes you" sits back on throne and drinks red wine and smiles while watching the destruction "yes its good to be evil" DO NOT FUCK with carrie white

  • @sonofdark18 or you pay the pries

  • Telekenesis; The Laziest Super Power

  • Except for the teacher tho owch..

  • All of you deserved it it just proves what could happen if you bulley someone:)

  • @whatisright it was thundering outside.

  • OMG the book is soo much better!! she does not have the juliet sleeves and thats not how everyone dies!!!For fucks sake dont fuck with the original!

  • @alphamale9000 Unfortunately the budget for this movie was very small - $1.2 million. Even in 1976 dollars, that wasn't very much. That's why only the gym was destroyed, rather than the whole town. But hey, when you're a teenager school is pretty much your world. (at least back then it was!)

  • @TarotMage lol i understand :) but it was still a great movie and theey are remaking the movie which will be more like the book...cant wait!!:)

  • I guess she got

    *takes off sunglasses*

    Carried away

  • @shadowclock13 lmao! yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • what was that banging sound at 7:07

  • I did not attended either junior or senior proms because of this scene from "Carrie".

  • they should show this at the beginning of each school year to scare all the students into not bullying people.. lol

  • "I'm so angry I'm going to destroy the acting careers of everybody in this gym! Well, I guess Travolta is too powerful, but I'll get his son, somehow, years later!!"

  • @orchidtender =/ not funny. That's nothing to joke about.

  • i don't understand why the lady kicked out the girl that was trying to help?

i havent see the whole thing either so

  • @Eternalux She couldn't go to the prom without a date.

  • @Eternalux Coz Shaggy-blondy guy was her boyfriend and she had asked him to take Carrie. Teacher knew and thought she was changing her mind and was going to ruin the moment.

  • Wow, who knew slow motion could have such an effect.

  • It's so well done. Was the score first - the editing? It all blends beauy. Classic.

  • they want to remake this movie with Megan fox as carrie.. fail

  • I think it's interesting that there are two famous directors' wives in early roles here. Nancy Allen married Brian dePalma and Stephen Spielberg married Amy Irving.

  • @laylacalif well, duh. Why do you think they were in this (or any) movie? Nancy Allen was probably the worst actress of her time, with Amy Irving a close second.

  • @orchidtender Amy Irving did fine in Yentl and Nancy Allen did quite well in Dressed to Kill.

  • No one really was laughing at her though. :/

It was only the ugly chick with the baseball cap. And the people who dumped the pig blood on her. I mean, why would he guidance teacher laugh at her? :S

Great ending though, half of those people did derserve it though. >:)

  • "There all going to laugh at you"

  • @Velvetdrummer BGN: They're all going to laugh at you.

  • @okkoehler Thank you for checking my grammatical error I sometimes forget to edit before commenting. I feel inarticulate, haha.

  • @Velvetdrummer Nah, don't worry, we make mistakes all the time;)

  • The ribbon scene at 2:06, so chilling! I love the directing there, making you know that the bucket is RIGHT above her head. Very smart

  • shes not the only one who got pig blood on them. meg griffin did

  • This sequence is amazing to me.

When Pino Donaggio's score changes (at 1:05 in this clip) to something sinister and suspenseful, this becomes one of the best horror sequences ever filmed. The pacing and timing, editing, score, and the build of anticipation... just great.

And the movie/story in general taps into so many strong things for us: bullying in school, the Cinderella fantasy, deranged parenting, the angst of puberty, abuse of power, and so on.

"They're all gonna laugh at you!"

  • CLASSIC

  • darksilveryoshi try not to to worry i am the same as you(bit older) we will have our day . sit tight, and be paitient.

  • carries mum just needed a decent man in her life, but definetly no sex !

  • EAR RAPE !!! haaaaaaaaaaaa

  • pig blood for a pig

  • byakugantaichi thank you.

  • They´re all going laugh at you! im sorry cassie, trust me carrie...

  • they will laugh at you! (she´s saying if iam right)

  • i would have been carries boyfriend, i would have looked after her....

  • @derek1969able Aww...that would be so sweet. Carrie would loved that. :)

  • Stephen King always gets it right with his portrayal of outsiders, from Harold Lauder in the Stand to Arnie in Christine to Carrie.

Always so sad in the end

  • @tkpanda Wow, you're an asshole!

  • @tkpanda Are you stupid?

  • Go Carrie! Go!

  • One of my old time favorites! Glad Carrie got her revenge

  • is this from Inglourious Basterds?? jk

  • there was no prom king and queen at mine, and im glad because it sets people up for disappointment

  • Anyone else think it's weird that they clapped for her as she stood on the exact same spot for about 4 mins?

  • @Shojobeat33 In real time it was actually more like 30 seconds.

  • i want a movie with a guy who is male carrie .

  • The girl who you've bullied for years has supernatural powers, which she uses to slaughter the entire senior class...yet another example of when keeping it real goes wrong.

  • and this is why i didnt go to my prom lol

    Cineman Murder

  • Kill 'em all, Carrie!

  • this is why u dont fuck with the quiet ones

  • ummm yea id go fucking ape shit and kill them all to. but 1 by 1, and a lot more painfully

  • Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, should really consider collabration with Carrie lol.

  • YOU GO GIRL!!

  • luv this movie....

  • @188Nikki yeah looks like its "muggle" season.

  • Carrie SO gave those ass hoes hell for what they did to her! This is my favorite part!

  • BEST MOVIE SCENE EVER FILMED. EVERYTHING IN SLOW motion had to be times down to the second.. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! AND WHEN the gym teacher sees Sue...OMG i get chills all the time...

  • burn baby burn

  • I've had a few dreams where I've gotten revenge of the bullies in middle school. I had no friends in middle school...hardest three years of my life. Worst years, too. It was so realistic. Each and every one of their faces as the windows shattered and the lights above us popped and exploded...just a dream...

  • The Ultimate revenge against BULLYING!

  • @ludoalex : I agree with you 100%. This was "Pre-Revenge Of The Nerds". Bullies, all school bullies all over America need to see this watch this movie and wake up. You can't mistreat someone, think that it's ok or funny and think you're going to get away with it. Eventually your bullying will find you out. Remember Columbine?

  • @lge52569 That's a very sad case, it should be more emphasis on schools about tolerance and diversity.

  • @ludoalex: I have no argument with you on that. But the fact is that bullying still exists. It's not like it was when I came along where you picked on the "nerd" and then they went on to become CEO'S of big companies. Now the "nerd"s are fighting back, but they're doing it with automatic weapons and home-made bombs.

  • @ludoalex Being a good human being starts at home. As Crosby, Stills,Nash and Young sang, "Teach Your Children Well." I think schools do a lot as far a preaching goes. Probably not enough as far as punishment goes.

  • @ludoalex

this makes me depressed,..i wish i have carrie's powers so that i could just poltergeist-ly avenge those bullies!

  • @kevin080592 I think if we were able to have this powers we would killed each other long time ago : (

  • I love the music <3 *_*

  • 7:27 I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE!!! AND I BRING YOU!!! fire

  • i love this movie but the part were they drench her in pigs blood really makes me sad that is probrally one of the most cruel ways to embaress someone

  • incredible film

  • I'm glad she gets her revenge all the way through, bullying is horrible..in this movie..but they push her too far.. Go Carrie.. :)

  • her eyes seriously scare the hell out of me bahaha

  • Yeap !

  • The split-screen effect ruins the whole thing, in my opinion. They should have just stuck to single screen.

  • Um, girl, you're wearing a prom dress with a baseball cap. What the hell are you laughing at?
