I'm still really sad over Tony Thompson. He had a beautiful voice and he was an amazing live performer. Hi-Five was one of my favorite groups of the 90's. I feel sad every time I hear their songs.
Greene and Hyman got what they deserve for being bi-sluts. Sick-ass mutha-fuckaz, too bad more of those people aren't dead. And Luther Vandross got what he deserve. Fat KFC-eating, dick-sucking, faggot-ass father fucker.

Wow so surprising to hear about Tony from Hi Five. It is so unfortunate that some people in this video died in senseless death. This is great filming . yes I cried. They will be deeply missed but there voices and spirit lives on.
I too miss many of these Artists, I had the pleasure of growing-up in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990,and therefore was able to enjoy All of the Music from those eras, even the 1960s Music is considered in that era for me seeing how I was conceived in the late 1960s to the Great Music of that era, so sad what the "music" of today has deteriorated into.
You know, I accidentally watched the entire video with my volume turned off and I was still moved. When I went to read the comments and discovered it had sound I re-watched it and it had way more impact. Great job!

@msstrawberries02 Gosh you're so right. Can't believe it's been 10 years since Aaliyah passed away, 9 years concerning Left Eye. We were teens when they left this world, but I listen to these music every day. I don't think I can stand this sh***ty auto-tuned commercial puppets giving us noisy thingies, electronic music that hasn't been worked by artists, untalented cheesy dolls, freaky songs dealing with money, sex (Nicky Minaj ain't the new Left Eye)... @DawgcityClev HOLD IT FRIEND! thats something that can happen to anybody by accident. please dont jump to conclusions on this, you can be in a hotel or house and the air conditioning FILTERS havent been cleaned in months or even years and that stuff can get in your lungs so bad that its like GRASS growing inside your lungs WHEN THEY DO INSPECTIONS ON THESE KINDS OF HOUSES THEY CALL THEM SICK HOUSES (be careful)
@regvision INDUCED means to succeed in persuading or influencing (someone) to do something. In other words it was done with intent. Not from a sick house. You're way off base here buddy.
Thanks 4 the walk down memory lane.... Allot of these singers were apart of my soundtrack in high school..... Intro.... Kenny G man I loved his voice and music style.. All of them gone 2 soon... I have nothin negative 2 say..... Good Job..... Peace
Great video. I didn't know about Ephraim Lewis, will look his music up. While all tragic, the ones that really hit me hard were Aaliyah and Tony Thompson because they were so young and had much left to contribute to r&b. I shed a tear every time I think about it.
Very respectfully and inspirationally put together as a "Remembrance vid" in this arena of music. Beautifully done and very well selected!! Thanxx!! X0X! to the uploader!
This video was very inspiring and knowledgable of who passed away and how they died .. some rumors are now put to an end after seeing this thanks ... I am truellly inspired of everyones story into the music business .. I think you did a great job. R>I>P to all LEGENDS ... your music lives on forever
So so sad that all of this wonderful talent has left us. I got so upset when I saw Luther, God, I love this man's music and still listen to it all the time now. Phyllis was such a classy lady with a gorgeous rich tone to her voice.
R.I.P. to all of these amazing people who will never be forgotton ♥♥♥
Wow this is touching, for someone so young at the time to write something so sweet and memoriable, thank you very much for remembering these talented musicians. I'm a big fan regardless of what people say : D
Rest In Paradise to all of you guys. Its funny how all of the 90''s music sound so better than this crap of r&b we got today you would think the music would get better with time instead it got weak. Damn i miss my girl Aaliyah she died so young.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Very sweet, but your commentary was awful. Next time get someone with writing skills skills ..."Unfortunately Left Eye was unable to complete her 2nd solo album or TLC's 4th... CAUSE SHE DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT!!" Jeez. You must be like, 16 years old.
@mellysweeney Critiquing commentary in a YouTube video... stay classy San Diego.
Though, actually you are close. I wrote this about 5 years ago, and so was about 18 at the time. OF course, you didn't take into consideration the fact that it's trying to compress as much information as possible into single sentences that will fit on a YouTube video. Given that, I'm curious what you would have rather seen in a video about musicians careers and their passing. But hey, everyone's a critic.
Aaliyah was ahead of her time. I have no doubt in my mind that if she were still alive today that she would be the biggest female artist on the planet. She pioneered a style that even young music fans today still admire. R.I.P. Aaliyah
I heard Tony Thompson OD'd on heroin.

@mrjones2u Yeah, it does. The reason being is that like Toni Braxton's song, Gerald's song was written and produced by R. Kelly.

induced air conditioner fumes? Man people in this world are psychotic! Who thinks up shit like that to do to themselves?
DawgcityClev 1 year ago
@DawgcityClev HOLD IT FRIEND! thats something that can happen to anybody by accident. please dont jump to conclusions on this, you can be in a hotel or house and the air conditioning FILTERS havent been cleaned in months or even years and that stuff can get in your lungs so bad that its like GRASS growing inside your lungs WHEN THEY DO INSPECTIONS ON THESE KINDS OF HOUSES THEY CALL THEM SICK HOUSES (be careful)
regvision 11 months ago

Man i was just fine until i watched this, im 38 years old and this made me tear up, how sad their untimely deaths were!

I think 'Missing you' would have been an apt track to play during the Aaliyah track, but it's all good. Peace.

@miboobala No he didn't. He died from an overdose/overexposure to Freon from an air conditioner. Whoever provided you with that information is wrong.

Rest In Paradise to all of you guys. Its funny how all of the 90''s music sound so better than this crap of r&b we got today you would think the music would get better with time instead it got weak. Damn i miss my girl Aaliyah she died so young.

Damn, I didnt know that Dino from H'town & tony thompson had died. Bit of a shock there. All these artists are truly missed.
Any chance of doing one on hip-hop artists?? Big-L, Freaky ty, scott the rock etc even though most of them were shot!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Very sweet, but your commentary was awful. Next time get someone with writing skills skills ..."Unfortunately Left Eye was unable to complete her 2nd solo album or TLC's 4th... CAUSE SHE DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT!!" Jeez. You must be like, 16 years old.
mellysweeney 1 year ago

R.I.P. Aaliyah

@Infamous256 I agree. I see alot of the new artists like Ciara etc all trying to Mimic Aaliyah's style.
