  • Nice shots! Cant get get out of my head though that HSTs have been pulling these speeds for 30 years now, just a smidge quicker than a Deli pulling 16 coaches made of wood on leaf springs! The main difference is these are plastic, can't move without a nuclear power station and have no character. Fine vid.

  • EEK!! Plastics on the WCML, gonna be more of them if HS1 gets the go ahead, Great Vid but doesnt cut the mustard when the 87's, 86's & 90's are roaring by! i believe there is a 90 and mk111 set scooting about the WCML, often named as the " Pretendolino" ive yet to ride on this--be great to add this into Plastic pendo footage :)))

  • I'm surprised you managed to get any of the numbers!

  • thumbs up if u think they should b HS1!

  • i think they should run on high speed 1

  • I hate these trains, And Voyagers.

Bring back the class 86's, 87's, 90,s on the Mk2 and 3s with a DVT.

And the HST and Loco hauled Cross country trains.

  • @SuperHardTrance Agree,ugly trains.

  • lol - they look like they are trundling along about 50mph

  • were is that ???

  • cool stuff

  • this is in UK?

  • Your zooming takes away the appearance of speed. One loses perspective in the zoom process.

  • Some really nice shots there!

Though a bit of advice to help you, try to avoid zooming. If you wish to zoom when filming, do very slow and smooth ones. They work wonders in the right places. Fast unexpected zooms tend to look weird - As i've leart oover time hehe.

    Thanks for sharing = )

  • lmao!

  • So fast

  • GREAT!!

  • It´s disturbing that you´re sooming in and out so that u get really confused what speed it actually is....

  • Nice shots 5*

  • Thanks for your comment!

  • @wellowvids thay don't look like there going fast

  • So how many MPH do these things actually go? =S im scared cus im going on one tomorrow lol

  • capable of 140+ but currently restricted to 125.

  • 300 kph

  • Don't think so!! That's the speed of the Eurostars isn't it?

  • It's 255 kph

  • @ovavoo 200 kph it is.

  • 125 mph, but there are plans to upgrade the Trent Valley to 135 mph. The ECML has been running trains at 125 mph since the seventies so high speed is nothing dangerous.

  • @charlieere01 about 563 mph

  • @charlieere01 The pendolinos are fun to ride on because of the speed. Still, they go as fast as any other high speed train. (Except for a eurostar)

  • Did you slow them down because the first one doesn't look that fast ;p!

  • No - they are actual speed. Couldn't say if the first one is slower without frame counting the original shots. It might be a difference in the zooming of the various shots.

  • How an earth do you read the train number at those speeds? :|

  • I don't - I leave it to my mate who wasn't videoing these shots!

  • great video!! 5*

    PEEEEENDOLINO

  • Great video! Its a pity they arnt doing 140mph. Then again that might cause an even bigger rush of wind and blow the tripod over (its happened to me!)

  • it was no. 12

  • last one could be better good 5*

  • So a 390 is basically a 9-car EMU for the West Coast? So sad I never get to see them...

    43 Valentas FTW!

  • nice footage bro!

  • this only looks like around 80mph (if that)

they do about 125mph through tiny Dudley Port

    good video though

  • The zoom lens foreshortens them. If you compare them with the "flying freightliners" video, where the 66s and 90s were running at 75mph, I think you'll agree that they were moving far faster than that!

  • The linespeed there is definately EPS 125.

  • The eurostar is much faster.

  • Of course it is - it runs on a high speed line.

  • its faster, but it has smaller coaches.

  • It's a different thing. Pendolino (and tilting trains in general) is meant as an option "between" the old, "slow" train, and spending bilions on the creation of new high speed lines.

It is used where the traffic and/or the conditions don't allow a HST.

  • great video!! 5*

  • Great video!! 5*

  • Best train that ever came out are these. Cant wait for my next outing in one (Saturday)

    Cheers - super vid.

  • Don,t seem to go that fast, not really a big inprovement on the west coast mainline, the east coast far better.

  • How fast are these going?

  • I think the main line speed through Cheddington is 125 mph although they may not all be achieving it in this video. If I', wrong no doubt someone will correct me!

  • very good
