When I was in my teens my father got a brand new computer and this game came free with it. After everyone was asleep I would sneak into his office and play it for several hours each night. Weekends were awesome when the parents would go to our cottage to getaway. Thankfully they did that alot.

Oh and Cataphracts were AWESOME. Elite Cataphracts in AoE 2 happened to be my favorite unit aswell.

True. But even AOE2 wasn't bad. That said I was just talking about games in general. The gaming industry has gone the way of the music and movie industries and has sacrificed quality content for clever marketing.

@mortenkul wasnt ensemble studios closed for that atrocious game (no offense, just not my type of gaming). that seriuosly was a horrible move... on top of that theres so much dissapointment with AOE and AOM fans.... man, WTF is happening to the gaming industry (dont spam too much, but tell me if im wrong)

Nice username dude. I think Ensemble Studios was actually closed down because RTS games just don't sell like they used to. Halo Wars was actually a fairly successful game, but with PC gaming in decline and RTSs just not working on consoles very well, I think keeping Ensemble Studios just didn't make financial sense. Which is too bad.
