  • I really enjoy posting a leading leg when grappling a wrestler. They can not resist attacking it. I ussually get them with ouchi mata or with Tomo Nage. Sometimes I catch their neck with my forearm and elbow.

I started doing this because I realized that it was hard to prevent being taken down even by mediocre wrestlers. This way I choose their attack and the outcome

  • @franciscoreatas11 At 0.48 that is almost a tomo-nage. except the guy failed to hook one of the thighs and throw himself back. If done right, you will end up on top, and the harder they push the easier it will be to end up on a dominate position...

  • notice that most of these guys did not sprawl while they were getting taken down. or do any takedown counters

  • right. no shit these guys got takendown they didnt pummel there underhooks. cool vid totally agree that 90% of the techniques work. just want to see compiles against more diverse grappelers

  • Pretty sweet but were you guys drilling?

It doesn't look very fast paced

  • @Whyyousuchadumbbutt

That's probably because it's in slow motion.

  • I love that first takedown...what excactly are you trying to do? What is the technique? Thanks a lot man.

  • @2rude Double leg tackle

  • @RagingDemon89 Thanks...what exactly are you trying to do with the legs there? Thanks in advance.

  • @2rude Break down your opponent by pulling his legs in and driving foward at his center of gravity.

  • @RagingDemon89 Thanks man...but is he also tilting his body and pulling one of the legs between his own legs?

  • the leg drop at 2:32 was classical!

  • takedowns are really nice guys, but striking is kinda lame :/

  • Little can OWN big :)

  • That hulk hogan atomic leg drop was hilarious! 2:30

  • @jiujitsuvidz ha it was hilarious

  • do some instructionals.. great vids

  • Jon Jones Is The MMA TAKEDOWN kING

  • @07liberian He's also the TAKEDOWN DEFENSE KING. Never been taken down in his UFC career.

  • 4:04 went the wrong way lol

  • Hey what does osu mean? or os!!! or osu!!!! ?

  • to see great takedowns watch some judo !

  • HAHAHAHA OMG!!!! DUDE DID A DROP KICK AT 2:31 LMAO I BET HE WATCHES ALOT OF WWE LMAO!:)

  • the white guy gets the crap kickiin out of him hahahahahahaha

  • 2:32 LOL! Dropkick?

  • i never realized how effective kick, wait for punch, shoot in , is.

  • were i an learn jiu jiitsu in middel east =( ?

  • Jiu-jitsu is a great art.. once you're on the ground. All the cool takedowns shown were power lifts (wrestling) or judo moves, like a hip throw. When I was only doing BJJ, I knew nothing about stand up, and I did a lot of what we can see in the video. But someday I started to cross-train in other martial arts, like judo, sambo, and catch wrestling. That's where I learned how you take someone down. There's a lot of better takedowns than single or double legs... or the famous guard pull.. lol!

  • haha that was sick 5:20

  • it looks like a lot of these take downs aren't the most effective, some of those hip tosses end up with your opponent on your back. I'm trying to learn some take downs for BJJ class and tournaments but I don't like to take any big risks. I don't want someone to end up mounting me or me ending up in their guard, or worse for them to take my back.

  • awesome leg drop! 2:30

  • hi bro i wanna start to jiu jitsu no bjj is there altso those takedowns in normal jiu jitsu (jushinkan)??

  • @alvorligkurder jigoru kano took the samurai art of japanese jiu jitsu and retained only moves that could be used at full power to turn the combat art into a sport. I imagine that japanese jiu jitsu takedowns would be like judo with more dangerous takedowns incorporated. in this video most of the takedowns were wrestling with some judo throws and trips

  • @legalock @alvorligkurde JJJ has very different takedowns to BJJ and MMA. A lot of judo throws are taken from JJJ. A lot are sacrifice throws, and some are very flashy. I would reccommend searching Quantum Ju-jitsu and just have a look at some of the throws :)

  • @alvorligkurder If you are in the U.S. find a competition/fight club Judo gym. The Japanese Jiujitsu takedowns are not practised as randori (full-free fight). You may also find a combat submission wrestling Club (lots of Judo/wrestling), and if you are lucky you may find a Sambo club. I wish I could do sambo. I train in Judo and submission wrestling in Tucson

  • @alvorligkurder CHeck out Erik Paulson from CSW. He has the most complete system..

  • at 2:55 is that an mma fight on just a grappling matt of some kind of combat sambo or what? plz reply...

  • @racingmylife15 that is pankration

  • @legalock isn't pankration with bare hands (what bas rutten did)... we don't do that in the netherlands we just practise mma

  • that's funny there's so many videos from suitela's in here

    that place is local

  • LOL at the leg drop at 2:32

  • at :23 you should close the distance with a jab, or you would get kneed or uppercutted in a legit mma fight, but good form

  • very cool vid, thx

  • name of the song? i know its from rocky movie, but i dont know the name.pls reply.

  • he could have saved it at 3:45 black trunks could have let him have the leg and brought the other onto hips, fall to guard, his arms were high, he could have done a double arm bar submission

  • 2:30 best tech!

  • @IzReticuli not really

  • does the 1st takedown would hurt your knees when you do it on the street?

  • Yes. On the street you wouldn't want to slide forward on your knees.

  • is this benji music wtf

  • It's from Rocky.

  • nah its overtune by bill conti

  • 2:30 wtf?!?! did he just do some kind of WWE leg drop. thats weird, creative, and kind of awesome.

  • japanese jiu jitsu has all the same takedowns/throws as judo does--that's where judo came from. it's just bjj that doesn't teach all of them.

  • nice compilation !!!

  • Thanks Jesus

  • @JesusQc2890 If jesus says its a nice compilation than it is!

  • i think wrestling is btter in taking down some one than bjj but bjj is better in the ground

  • What a deadly combination when you master the 2.

  • it's true because the takedown is a larger part of wrestling as it's for points. it matters more. for bjj the takedown is just a way to get int oa position to submit.

  • no shit

  • dudes those take downs are well timed but they lack of strenght they are all based on trying to take you down to the floor with no damage at all the ideal thing is to take down your oponent hard to the point that he loses his breath that way makes it easier to nock him out

  • not really, its basically a transition from standing do ground game, painfully or not

  • yeah thats very true, but im sure they arent going 100% its just sort of a light spar.

  • Bjj is the key!!

    Watch my videos

  • i do taekwondo and im not sure what i shoud do after it bjj or muey tai ? (coment back)

  • Taekwondo and muay thai are both "stand-up" styles. I would suggest Jiu Jitsu so that you are also proficient on the ground.

  • hey thanks dude

  • I think if you want to do MMA, you have to learn muay thai for the stand-up and BJJ for the ground fight. TKD is good but you don't have face protection

  • muay thai and bjj is a good combination. i think karate and judo or japanese jj would also be an awesome combination.

  • boxing and bjj seems to be a strong combo

  • Sigh I do BJJ, and I can't take down for shit. Thinking about going into a wrestling or judo school. Getting tired of pulling guard in competitions .

  • Same here...

  • @BIGthingsSON i was having the same problem, until i went to a wrestling school for a year , but now i rather choose judo between wrestling...more technical i think, and more standup techniques, in wrestling its almost shoot shoot and more shoot, very bad for the knees(on street of course)

  • @BIGthingsSON Try folkstyle wrestling (or high school wrestling). It teaches you to sprawl and use your hips to avoid takedowns really well. It also makes your takedown shots alot more explosive

  • @BIGthingsSON guard is one of the strengths of jiujitsu, stick with it... as for ur takedowns dont think into it too much..work ur guard/ sprawls.. and just get the basic takedowns double leg, single leg, ect

  • @BIGthingsSON Try Judo and Sambo / Combat Sambo it will help your takedown and sweep plus you get better with leg Locks.

  • @BIGthingsSON if you are still in high school join the wrestling team. if not, you will have a hard time getting really good at takedowns because it gets harder to learn the older you get for a variety of reasons. if you are older try judo, and when training bjj, dont do the typical bjj thing of starting on your knees, always start standing(if your takedowns are a weak point then focus on them). wrestle with freestyle or greco roman clubs if possible. good luck and cheers!

  • soundtrack is awesome lol

  • Very well timed take downs. They are either timed well or they are judo/'jujitsu take downs. Very nice.

  • Man, I did not see one decent sprawl in this entire video, some take downs, but that's not saying much if your opponent has no defense.

  • Thanks for your comment. This is not a sprawl compilation video which I think would be pretty boring. If a takedown is stuffed why would it end up on a takedown compilation video?

  • Wow...I never even thought of that lol.

  • @legalock yeah same thing here i wrestled a little so im pretty good at it but they should modernize it and use the wrestling and bjj together thats what all mma fighters do, bjj takedowns dont work for shit.

  • @legalock because a takedown that someone is trying to defend is much more impressive when finished

  • sweet ankle pick at 5:34

  • 5:34 the dude in the green shirt is an animal. Never stops.

  • Youssef

  • LOL! Atomic leg drop @ 2:32!

  • Shoulder throw! Min-1:56, nice work!

  • when you guys shoot why do you slide on both knees? wth kinda shot is that your suppose to drive

  • for that first takedown, talk about shooting from left field, that shit would've never worked in a real fight

  • The good thing is that you guys implied ground game tho, if you guys didn't it would seemed to be flawless and misunderstood.

  • 3/5 Why?: Some real life situations, average grappling/takedowns, to me some of those take downs or grapple's seemed like if you guys were wrestling in a high school, step it up you guys are older than that. Bjj is a martial arts were no aggressive/striking is needed to win a fight, lacking that it could lead into a down fall. I'm not talking about your video, i'm trying to expand knowledge of bjj. I also teach Bjj, and train it at vale tudo academy with Ryron gracie for quiet a long time.

  • As a martial art teacher you should know that the sport wrestling in highschool is very dangerous and almost no one goes through the season without getting hurt at least once. I use to think it was just a game, but my friend showed me some of the stuff they did and I now consider it a fighting style. Its not bjj, but that dosent mean it wont work does it? There is more than one way to choke someone to death... Personally, I respect ALL martial arts, I think bjj is good, but little over rated...

  • can someone tell me the name of these MMA gloves ?

  • This is a 10 year old video. The mma gloves you see are probably not made anymore. They are cobra gloves and chuck norris gloves.

  • sweet leg drop at 2:32...

  • sorry this vid isn't very good, not many clean techniques but it shows lots of fun :)

  • ahaa..wow! this is the gym i go too..

  • soooo nice

    someone lick my puss aO

  • Could somebody please explain to me why they keep putting their head on the inside for the double leg. It look extremly effective but I thought that the head was suppose to go on the outside. Is this just a different variation?

  • so they dont get chocked

  • wrestlers like to put there head on the outside to try and drive them to either side. But the risk of that is they can put you in a mean guillotine if you dont pin it tight to the side. Its really just the choice of the fighter

  • It's called a Bully Double in Wrestling. And it is very effective if you follow through with it. It knocks the breath out of your opponent if you do it right.

  • ill tell you because if your take down fails you can pull the calf sideways and shoot a single leg.....if your head goes on the outside for the wrestler take down then you leave yourself open to the guilatine

  • nice to see a slow motion video. you can really study what each person is trying to do. 5/5

  • great video

  • this song is from the rocky balboa soundtrack, good choice.

  • Thanks nice job. Where is this gym?

  • Hi Carmar,

    Cheers

  • the music and the fight, great job!!!!!

  • Finally some slowmotion takedowns. I needed this thx.
