I'm still not sure what the hell an apple TV is supposed to do. Can you rip DVDs onto it? It hasn't got it's own hard disc so do you have to have your computer running at the same time? Can you connect an external hard-drive to it and run it without your PC running? Think I'll leave this one.

You can't stream the movie trailers with ps3 or xbox. But if you get tveristy you can stream all your files from your computer and a lot of websites to your xbox, for free. The interface isn't as pretty but it works fine.

Here's an idea, buy a 1.5 TB external hard drive for 120$. Hook it up to your laptop, and then stream movies on your HDTV. Much better and much cheaper solution.

Apple TV is a waste of money. I already have a PS3 that I use and does the same thing. I just setup a Media server on my MacbookPro to stream my music, pics, movies and I use another software to stream Youtube, netflix, hulu, etc..

If you already have a PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360 don't waste your money on Apple TV. I recommend PlayOn for internet video streaming.

it syncs to your computer via wifi and loads all movies music and photos from itunes and iphoto and allows it all to displayed on your tv. this can b controlled by a simple 6 button remote provided wit the apple tv or by an ipod touch via the "remote" app, and i also believe it can be controlled by your computer (all wirelessly) u can also watch youtube on your tv through it, as well as purchase or rent movies through the itunes store. Its essentially a hardrive connects to ur tv
