I like it so far but the woman (eye candy) should not have been part of the actual "traveling team"...I mean having a couple of sergeant stripes does not make a good disguise and the STRONG woman type is getting real old.
This shows are supposed to be educative and instructive but what they actually do is distort history to accommodate a stupid script. The Battle of Hürtgen Forest was not a single battle but a series of confrontations that lasted nearly 6 months from September 1944 to February 1945 when the German army finally retrieved.
Period pieces are expensive.... let alone a different one each trip through the tunnel. With non engaging writing I can understand why something like this would not have been cleared. Acting and the writing are good, but when you play with time travel there is too loose ends to fill. Stargate succeeded with the same formula because they can make up their plots without the pressure of staying true to the source. With a heavy budget this could have been a successful series.
For me the original TM was interesting at first 'cause they did deal with actual Historial Events---for me I was thinking a way of getting kids interested in "history" as "what if" u were there---later the series went to CRAP when they started having Space Aliens in Earth's Past---then it just went brain dead----
No Great Mystery why it failed! The Senior Script Editor for this show was too psychologically involved to do her/his job and curtail the black lesbian violence in this clip against the white hetero male, also the reference to DADT; too obvious.
They went with NBC's The Event instead It trips off less alarms.
I have never watched Stargate, so I cannot comment toi the similarities. This show seems to have possibilities. One important I remember from the original is that Tony and Doug could not change history. But there presence there appeared to have a part of the natural order of events as they occurred. Since the events already occurred, this made sense. This idea of a time storm seems to be more than a stretch. Sending a team to repair time seems to be even more of a stretch.
@FylthyBeest Was part of a speech Gen Patton gave his American Forces...."The Nazies are the Enemy--Wade into them---spill their blood!; shoot them in the belly.!"
Interesting but needed more flair. The shell racing towards them was good - but original touches are required to make it stand out from the pack of SF - Series
I watched the first time tunnel show the first night it was on. I loved it. Tony and Doug were great. But the show was like everything else at the time. Simple. This time tunnel is also great because a little thought was put into it. In the first series all we had was two lost people trying to get home. Same show ever week. But here we have heroes trying to save the world as we know it, or as we find out, we had known it. A little plot work to go with a great ideal. It would have worked.
Uh, I think y'all missed the point. None of the soldiers noticed that the women were women. Some of those boys were 16, 17 years old, and with their helmets on the women could pass. It's a battle. Nobody looks closely at your face anyway.
I'll tell you why it "didn't get picked up"... because it is absurd to have women fighting in trenches in WWII. Dumb. I'm not even going to go to Part 4/5.
Writers always have to work in their own PC religion into scripts. To do something this stupid in a pilot is unreal.
Something this obvious endangers their ability to sell the pilot.
Writers do it all the time with other shows, where they inject their own political bias in a nation that is pretty much evenly divided. So they piss off half of their audience and wonder why ratings drop.
It is from The estate of Irwin Allen, Produced by Sheila Mathews Allen, the wife of the Late Irwin Allen, the Movie and TV Sci Fi Genius who passed away in 1991.
Thank you for posting. I really am surprised why the networks didnt pick this up and run with it!! And judging from other comments I am not alone in my thinking.

Is this meesage board full of fucking idiots? Why they didn't pick this up?It is shit. This is supposed to better than the original-Stargate SG1 may have an approach but this is crap. They saw shit and passed on it.
@cloverfield911 You do realize how corny 1960s Time Tunnel was, right? We had the two of them in a new, era, mess up history, have them get captured, laughed at by their captors about them being time travelers, and then they would fix things, and leave again. Rinse and Repeat. This at least showed promise of conflict within the group over what to do, and had more thought put into time travel.
@FaxModem1 , You do realize they had a smaller budget to work with they.couldn't be fancy like todays TV shows or movies.....besides corny looking or not I like the original 1960's show better.
I've never been fond of remakes or updates to classic shows or movies because Hollywood tends to ruin them and stray from what the original idea was about that made the show or movie popular to begain with.
Why are you talking about? The original Time Tunnel "time travel" effect sucked. It was a kid running down the tunnel with cheap sparks flying from under it and out the sides. The damn thing looked like it was about to break, and I'm pretty sure they almost accidentally put the set on fire.
who writes this stuff? 2 women combat soldiers in WW2?

I don't recognize any of the cast. Any idea who was producing the pilot? It kind of looks like CBC or Space from Canada, rather than a US production.

Not a good script. Its too much trying to be like Stargate. Like Galactica RDM, it should have stayed faithfull to the origional story.
The arrival st the tunnell should have been spectacular - like that of the pilot of Time Tunnell.

It's a decent script. This would have been a fantastic show for ABC family. It would make a good early teen show.
