  • does the 2009 GT force carbon expert has the independent drivetrain?

  • Also, i own a GT Force and am really very happy with the value that the bike represents but my major complaint is the squeaking i get from the pivots. i have to service it once every 3 months or after every couple of muddy rides to keep the squeak at bay. I'm a mechanic and can do all the work myself but i can imagine this would drive the average joe crazy and it certainly is annoying to me. If GT could design a way to better seal those bearings from the elements i'd have zero complaints.

  • one thing at the i-Drive suspension does not address is brake feedback. On any suspension design that doesn't have a pivot at the axel point, the suspensions travel is going to be affected by braking forces. The real world results of this is that the suspension stiffens up as the brake is applied which can suck when you're bombing through some narly rockgarden and need to scrub some speed. The only suspension designs that i have seen that do address this issue is ABP and DW's new Split Pivot.

  • Tradition singel pivot isn´t goodly better then of VPP.

  • I think specialized ''dislike'' this..

  • This guy is a retard!. Just cos your bikes have a fancy "independent bottom bracket" does not change the fact that your suspension system is single pivot. Any dumbass can work out that you can't have a reward or vertical wheel path with a single pivot!

  • I appreciate and respect GT's technology, but in the world of DH Racing, they're not on the podium...

I really admire GT's good looking bikes...

  • @jorjekskee20

except that Marc Beaumont won at Val di Sole last year and finished 5th overall on the season

  • Got the GT full-suspension bike.

I like its i-Drive rear suspension. Very good work of suspension and almost no pedal feedback. Helps a lot to climb hills on hard terrain

  • yet steve peat is still faster on "inefficient" VPP

  • @toilets5 GT doesn't make fast downhill bikes. They only make good XC or Trail bikes that require hardcore pedaling and uphill.

  • This is a typical marketing video. We use GT sanctions on our helibike trips and although our clients love them, we've had regular maintenance issue far above the use the bikes have had. So, the jury's out so far...

  • to bad that they can't combine it all on one bike.

these guys are retards. and whoever falls for this marketing bullshit is retarded as well.

  • @TissTime4Tea

What are you talking about? Hollow skull?

  • It made me laugh when they were talking about the bump force.

Do they not realize that you cannot have a vertical wheel path unless the suspension spring is directly above or below the rear axle. All suspension methods involve the wheel moving in an arc up towards the saddle.

    End of story.

  • @Clawz114

and that is why they are making world class bikes,

    and you arent...

    :)

  • @DomDom1242

I'm not saying they don't make good bikes. I sell bicycles, GT being one of the brands. I am quite aware they are a good brand. I am just saying, its total rubbish to say that you can have a vertical wheel path. That's all.

  • @Clawz114

    so true!

these "designers" have no idea what they are talking about!

  • @DomDom1242

their bicycles are far from world class; you should pay attention during races a little more. and don't make sweeping statements like that. you come off as an asshole.

  • @TissTime4Tea

yeah they are far from world class, i mean like Hans Rey DOESN'T ride for GT and he is NOT world class is he, corr i sound like a right arsewhole being right don't i?

  • @DomDom1242

so glad you are able to see the light.

by the way, stop being such a GT fanboy and stfu.

  • impressive... Have to try

  • This promo vid is full of lies. They slag off other suspension designs to make their own look better. eg: they say that the wheel path for Meastro is vertical.....wrong. Meastro suspension makes the wheel retract in an arc and almost totally eliminates pedal feedback, bob and brake feedback and yes I do ride Meastro. It reflects very badly on a company when they have to slag others in order to sell their product. If the quality is that good let it speak for itself.

  • other companies have been "slagging" ID for years. ....the vid is not full of lies....all the models are based on actual dimensions from the drawings of the competition.....I guess it just bothers people that GT stands up to all the BS that has been said about their technologhy ....BTW this technology wins WC DH....

But the bottom line is that if you do not like what is being said then don't ride a GT ..12,458 other people will.....

  • man i wish that they'd bring back the ball burnished zaskar to full production(not just ltd edition that only 500 people will be lucky enough to ride)it has always been one of my dream bikes!!!

  • that's why i've been riding GT for the last 12 years, they are always on top of the game with cutting edge innovation...

  • i met this guy at sheep hills who works for GT his name is louis, and he was telling me about this and let me test ride his own badass bike like this one, and all i have to say is i was very impressed.... not only but the bike but how knowlegable their employees are...

  • 10 Years of it

  • awesome love gt
