No, it wasn't dirty. Instead of trying to counter-hit Thompson, Connolly slowed up like a bitch and got the full force of the hit. This injury is Connolly's own fault.

First of all... it's Connolly... he's not a fighter. "Standing up for himself" is a ridiculous phrase to use here. His face got crushed into the boards, once with the arm, and then again when he came through with the hip.

Secondly, I don't call this a bad hit, it was just Connolly not being strong enough and putting himself in a bad position. Stupid move... I blame Timmy for this entirely.

His nose wasn't broken, it was DESTROYED. Lindy Ruff explained that it will need reconstructive surgery as there is nothing left there. I'd love to see you or anyone else "stand up for themself" after something like that. Name a player in any other sport who would even return to the game after something like that. I was at this game. A classless Tampa fan shouted "you're next Miller" as Ryan went over to check on Connolly as he lay motionless on the ice. What a douchebag.

He took this hit and came back to finish the game with a face shield on... After the game he went for X-rays and he would require surgery. The reports are saying he will miss less then 2 weeks and will be going for surgery today. Hockey players = Nails

woah thats going too far no matter what team he is on we never like it when somebody gets injured on the ice it wasn't just buffalo fans who applauded him when he got up
