The design for the shoulder pylons in the new figures might have actually been inspired by the new designs for the Evas themselves. In the original series and the first rebuild, you'll sometimes notice that the pylons would move slightly when they move their arms. While in 2.0, the pylons always stay upright and their arms move independently from them.

I just saw the Robot Damashii versions and they seem way better than these revoltech ones. better articulation, sculpt, material, and paint. i was planning on getting these revoltech ones, but now i for sure want to get the Robot Damashii versions. but what sucks about the Robot Damashii is that they lack in accessories.
There are better versions of the Evas that actually have a working entry-plug, realistically attached shoulder pads, and all the armor can be taken off to reveal the biological parts.
I forgot what company makes them, but it's not Revoltech.

I believe this one is completely plastic even the joints, so you could just use some lukewarm water on it and then leave it to dry for a day. I wouldn't scrub it or use anytype type of cleaning agent.
okay about the knives, you get them with 2.0 version unit 00 and 2.0 version unit 01. the knives unit two normall has come with unit 00 and the butterfly like knives come with unit 01, the points have nothing to do with it. its a marketing strategy to get you to buy the rest smart idea but annoying to, but still great figure, i got it i recommend it

you realize the eva 2 form end of eva is different that its first appearance. the first appearance figure had shoulder blades and the end of eva one does not, but oh well 2.0 edition is so much better

Just ordered EVA-01, EVA-02 and EVA-05 Revoltech figures and eagerly awaiting their arrival. These videos (together with the fact that the store only had one more in stock) were what made me finally decide to buy them.
Coincidentally, they will be my very first figures EVER.
I just got my Eva 01 and 02 today and surprisingly 02 has no problems like the ones with your piece. Really fantastic figures, probably wouldn't hear about them for a long time if it wasn't for your reviews :)
hmm. it's really tempting to go for the new one, but the old one has the design i'm used to having only seen the series. and the price is a slight hinderance on the newer one. as you can get the 97 version pretty cheap now
i'll probably end up with both in the long run but for the moment i think i'll go for the 97 to match my other 97 figures and worry about the new ones when cash is less of a problem
Well the Gundam HG 1/144 are cheaper then Revoltects in general. No-grade 1/100 are a little more expensive. While MG 1/100 are any where from x2 to x3 times the cost.

i recommend the original non-movie version of it, it has a better paint scheme and paint details than the orangey movie one, and has an excellent spear, knife, and even an extra little pistol. my favourite eva though is the first rebuild of 01, i got it after seeing your review earlier this year -you can mount its extra head on its shoulder pop-out thing, i looks great as a lopsided two-headed monster
the chips help you buy different things 100 points get you a randomly selected revoltech or a assembleborg of your choosing 50 gets you a mini assemleborg and 30 gets you a repair kit
buy more revoltech toys, some gives more points in chups, i believe the chip must be used on stores that acept them isntead of mailed, so it's useless for us, unless you want a trup to japan.
i believe the extra shoulder packs with the knives come with unit 01. i dont know why they did that other than to get you to buy more than you want. its very inconvenient
Got this figure myself, only complaint is the fact you don't get the knife holding shoulders and actual knives and the eye paint was fairly badly done. Painted over it myself to fix it a bit and it looks fine now, this figure is fantastic in terms of quality for its size, especially compared to the 1997 version which I also own.
If you could suggest any, which would be a better investment, Unit 05 or the new movie version Unit 01?
I ended up getting the new movie Unit 01 (Eva from the movie). The new painted 05 looks much better than the green one.
I suggest trying to get a soul spec Eva 00 new body version. REALLY good model, just got it today, so unbelievably well detailed and incredibly poseable - a little expensive though. Soul spec range is definitely my fave now.
Don't worry Macross will be back, just needed to take a break from repaints of VF-25s & VF-1s. Am waiting for the Vf-25S Armor parts to kick off the Macross buzz again. Which is due for release this month.
Evangelion Mark 5 would be release on this year!!

I'm sure there are shop selling this stuff somewhere in Europe but it's just as easy for me to get them from Japan so I do. So haven't looked for somewhere in Europe

recently got the 2.0 edition of unit-00 and -03 (unit-03 is a big improvement being that its colored better than black and white) Tthey're pretty sweet but unit-00 feels taller than my other evas... am i hallucinating? o.O

i am getting my BANDAI LEVANGELION 02 LIMITED EDITION MODEL KIT, hell yeah, BUT I REALLY REALLY HATE THE NEW VERSION OF THE EVA 02. white arms, black shoulder extensions AND ORANGE HORNS????? WTF??????? they fucked up the eva 02 completely, the old version ROCK HARDER!!!!!!! even though it is a very good figure. i probably make my own EVA 02 review, so.... i let you know....and before i forget: GREAT VIDEO.

I'm still trying to figure that out to! Don't see the point of the Assemble Borg, I think it's a toy line they're trying to kick start or something. Don't like them so haven't looked into it.
I get most of my stuff from HobbyLink Japan. Look for HLJ and you should find it.

Just ordered EVA-01, EVA-02 and EVA-05 Revoltech figures and eagerly awaiting their arrival. These videos (together with the fact that the store only had one more in stock) were what made me finally decide to buy them.
Coincidentally, they will be my very first figures EVER.

I just got my Eva 01 and 02 today and surprisingly 02 has no problems like the ones with your piece. Really fantastic figures, probably wouldn't hear about them for a long time if it wasn't for your reviews :)

hmm. it's really tempting to go for the new one, but the old one has the design i'm used to having only seen the series. and the price is a slight hinderance on the newer one. as you can get the 97 version pretty cheap now
i'll probably end up with both in the long run but for the moment i think i'll go for the 97 to match my other 97 figures and worry about the new ones when cash is less of a problem

Well the Gundam HG 1/144 are cheaper then Revoltects in general. No-grade 1/100 are a little more expensive. While MG 1/100 are any where from x2 to x3 times the cost.

unit 2 has another set of shoulder packs that come with unit 00 kai (rebuild version) which will be released as a 7-11 exclusive on october 27-ish.

i recommend the original non-movie version of it, it has a better paint scheme and paint details than the orangey movie one, and has an excellent spear, knife, and even an extra little pistol. my favourite eva though is the first rebuild of 01, i got it after seeing your review earlier this year -you can mount its extra head on its shoulder pop-out thing, i looks great as a lopsided two-headed monster

the chips help you buy different things 100 points get you a randomly selected revoltech or a assembleborg of your choosing 50 gets you a mini assemleborg and 30 gets you a repair kit

buy more revoltech toys, some gives more points in chups, i believe the chip must be used on stores that acept them isntead of mailed, so it's useless for us, unless you want a trup to japan.

i believe the extra shoulder packs with the knives come with unit 01. i dont know why they did that other than to get you to buy more than you want. its very inconvenient

Got this figure myself, only complaint is the fact you don't get the knife holding shoulders and actual knives and the eye paint was fairly badly done. Painted over it myself to fix it a bit and it looks fine now, this figure is fantastic in terms of quality for its size, especially compared to the 1997 version which I also own.
If you could suggest any, which would be a better investment, Unit 05 or the new movie version Unit 01?

If you care about unit05 at ALL, get the new repainted one that is coming out now, that resembles the movie pattern.
By new movie version i assume you mean the new one SPOILERIFIC ?
or just the eva from the movie ? if the eva get eva 01 to have the pair, eva05 sucks anyway.
i wish the'd release eva 04 and 00 in new body already.

I ended up getting the new movie Unit 01 (Eva from the movie). The new painted 05 looks much better than the green one.
I suggest trying to get a soul spec Eva 00 new body version. REALLY good model, just got it today, so unbelievably well detailed and incredibly poseable - a little expensive though. Soul spec range is definitely my fave now.

Don't worry Macross will be back, just needed to take a break from repaints of VF-25s & VF-1s. Am waiting for the Vf-25S Armor parts to kick off the Macross buzz again. Which is due for release this month.
