@jpmahar No problem, do not be nervous ... I was surprised only by the high quality and resolution of video. We used some special feature to Render? What is your video card?
I believe I did this with a walkthrough where the camera followed a spline around the car and focused one one point on the car. When setting it up i think there is a option in the dialog box that lets you select the render style. Of course you have to apply different materials to make it look right like black tiers, glass and shinny red paint etc.
Very well done. I worked as an AutoCAD drafter/designer for 5 years in the mechanical/electrical field (only 2D though) and this is a beautiful piece of work. Thank you for sharing your creation.
Hey bro are you self taught. I am a cadd major and this is the exact route I am trying to take with it. any advice or websites you can give will be of a huge help.
It took me about 30 hours or more. Most of the body is made with 3D meshes and it was the first time I used them. Rendering, went for the shinny car look.

hey, great work!
just a quick question, i've been playing around with animation and how do you get the scene to actually render each frame rather than just shade it?
thanks

Not to bother a rather old video or anything, but what do you mean 3D meshes? What tools did you use?
Cordius 3 years ago
Well to get you started
Go menu draw > modeling > meshes > 3D mesh, now (m) 3 (n) 3
Now click on the screen 9 times, 3 in a row, right to left, 3 clicks high, 3 clicks mid, 3 clicks bottom.
Bam you get a mesh with 9 points that can be moved in all X, Y, Z positions.
Try moving them around and use the properties fit/smooth.
Hope that helps

How do I add more points to the mesh?
Cordius 3 years ago
when creating a mesh in top view "m" = X and "n" = y kinda without a "Z" value. get it? just add more m's or n's whatever you like.
you can adjust the "Z" value after the mesh is created.
Experiment with it
The help files explane it beter than I can.
Rock on.
