As 4 wrestling she is a weight lifter but I met her at the Junior world championships in Sweden Landskrona 2006 and had a playfull armwrestle whit her and even though much stronger than me in the lifts shown her she didnt have half a chanse at the noble art of AW against me, but she is very beutiful!

In Olympic Weightlifing the arms just act as steel rope and the hips and back do most of the work! She has tremendous explosive power in her body though! When you punch somebody you don't use your arms much either! your strength and power come from your body! Put it this way I wouldn't ask her for a playful boxing match myself! even at the end of the excersise, the compression on your elbows, shoulders, back, knees and ankles doesnt bear thinking about =/

Perhaps your skeleton would be crushed if you, without any training, managed to get twice your bodyweight over your head. But an olympic weightlifter, who has been training for years will be adapted to just such stress. Weightlifting not only increases muscle mass, but also bone density, and the strength of other connective tissue.

I would guess, that if we did some kind of study, weightlifters would probably have a higher quality of life longer than the general population.

as palindrome said your bones, tendons, and muscles, get stronger. In addition, your CNS is better able to control those muscles.

You will be surprised how many old folk still OLift. Just check out any local meets if u have a chance to come across them (OL is not very well known)

Another thing is that picking a weight from the floor and holding it overhead demands a huge amount of flexibility, being strong in those positions, and balance between opposing muscle groups.
