my sisters retriever is like that, get eat fast enough and always looking for more. If you in the kitchen for whatever reason, the dog will move closer to watch for whatever may fall, lol!!

i know this is an old video but for those watching that may have the same problem with your dog eating too fast, i guess that if you put a larger object in the bowl with the food (they sell at Pets Unlimited), looks like a rock but it isn't.. but i guess they have to work harder to get to the food so slows them down..

no offenses but how is that teaching ur dog to eat slowly...? all u did was teach it wait (which is usually the first thing ppl teach them or any obedience classes or puppy classes) and all ur doing is giving him his food in small amounts...

good training, its not just that some dogs will eat themselves to death from capacity, but we and dogs have molars for a reason. taking time to chew so you prevent choking, AND, the stomach may be able to pass a certain quantity of food that it would get lodged in the gut and surgery is usually the only way to deal with that. and dogs are best left unsedated when possible. its also good to leave time between each load in the stomach to fully digest, which can also kill certain diseases.
