They do not deny that they fought and won wars with their neighbors (same as American and European history). There will be war in this area because all people want to take back what they lost. Siam (Thailand) used to be a small country and took land from others and claims that are their lands, southern from Malaysia, Cambodia, northern from Lanna and Eastern from Lane Xang. It is not fair, nobody believe it. There are obvious facts (culture of local people, language these people speak) reflect opposite evidence. IMO. The really Thai people still live in the north of Thai, Laos, North Myanmar, North Vietnam, Assam in India and South of China. But The people in the central and around here mostly I think they have some blood of Khmer and Morn. U can observe from the characteristic of "Face". Real Thai people looks like South Chinese.

There was no Lanna in Khmer Empire map.
Khmer people created Khmer civilization in Khmer Empire before Lanna become a Kingdom.
