This was terrible! Lesson 1 in bias is quizzing someone on details instead of discussing the issue. I think the context for Matthews question was already setup. They we're talking about appeasement, and Chamberlain was famous, err infamous, for appeasing Hitler. I don't see how the question could be taken in any other context.
The bottom line was that appeasing Hitler didn't stop him, and that appeasing Israel won't stop them from attacking either.
How is preventing making the same mistake again a bad thing?

This was terrible! Lesson 1 in bias is quizzing someone on details instead of discussing the issue. Chris's point was that the discussions didn't cause the problem, but rather actually giving him the Rhineland was the problem. Saying that the discussions were also a problem because they eventually led to the appeasement is kind of ridiculous because that argument could be used for anything.
