  • Very nice! I love the 60 degree gm v6's. Most reliable engines I've ever owned and they sound great for not being v8's. I love the sound of your car.

  • shit man u found headers and a exhaust to fit the 3.4 man i cant find any can u give me the site u got them off of

  • look for parts for the grand am GT or the grand am 3.4 SE...you'll get a much better list of performance parts for those cars, and they will fit on this car np

  • nice man i have the same alero my exhaust is just the cat and a universel res now i gotta a quick question if i take the res off and replace it with straight pipe will it be louder or sound like shit i have no muffler on it just a big tip its mean but i want it to scream louder lol any help people?

  • Well this car has no res on it, just a high flow cat and 2 super 44's Without a res if that's all you have it's probably loud already, probably won't make much a a difference. and will probably rob a little bit of horsepower. I wouldn't do it.

  • @RedogOnyx ay dude i have a 2000 alero an i was wondering how can i get my car to sound like that. like what type of parts do i have to get in order to sound like yur car. because when i get back from the army i planing to hookup my alero. i like to know if u dnt mind.

  • @fliptojazz Headers, high flow cat, "Y" pipe and 2 Flowmaster 44 mufflers

  • wow! sounds real nice!!! can my malibu sound something like that? it has the3100 with a kn filter performance plugs injectors n dats about it

  • of course, the 3400 is a bored out 3100

  • the whole reason the 3400 sounds so much better than the 3100 is because it's been bored out, yes it is a bored out 3100..but the boring of the engine has a lot to do with the sound it produces

  • If you do a FULL exhaust, sure.

Stay away from "straight thru" mufflers or your car will sound rice

  • i have the 2.4l with a straight thru exhaust n alot of work on my engine. im pushing 400hp running 26lbs of boost. u can say my car sounds ricey, but all 4clyinders do, especially the twin cam. but nonetheless i can back up my ricey exhaust

  • Sure you do

  • thats a very nice sounding alero. btw that is indeed lifter tap. ive adjusted the rockers on my alero 3400 as much as i could and they still tap like a mother. what seems to help me is mystic 15w40 heavy duty synthetic blend oil.

  • sounds like you have a little piston knock or is it just the exhaust?

  • Actually it's a lifter tap. Very common with the 60* V-6 GM motors. It's annoying as hell, but doesn't cause any problems. Car has almost 105,000 miles, been doing it since it had 20,000

  • On my alero I did something different. Stock piping off engine, but I installed a Catco converter and removed the resonator. After that is a Super 80 muffler, and with dual tennesse chrome tips.

Just like yours sound similar to a V8 at idle. Flowmaster has a nice muscle car sound.

  • I had an 80 on mine too. I just didn't like the sound above 3500

  • YOU LIED. It does sound like a V-8. At least at idle. ;-)

  • You got to take it to a muffler shop to have it done. Cost me around $100 but I already had all the pipe work in the car

  • dam i want m aalero to sound liek dat!!!!!!!

    how did u install them

and how much does it cost to install them

plz reply back!!! cuz i want dat sound for my alero

  • where did you get the headers from, also is that with a cat? Plus i'm guessing it starts out as single and goes into dual exhaust?

  • where did you get the parts from?

  • The Mufflers and "Y" pipe I got from Summit racing and the piping was custom bent at the exhaust shop, any muffler shop can do this work

  • thanks bro!!!

  • I have an Alero that has just about the mods you have on yours. I would like to take her to Englishtown and see how she can do. When's the best night to go to E-town?

Your Alero sounds and moves out well. It's great to show others that Aleros are more than they appear to be.

  • Best bet is to go to Englishtown on "Street Wars" day. Perfect for a beginner. It's imports v domestics. If you want more of a challege, go there on any Sunday that is listed as "Sunoco Super Points Series" day, these are only on SUnday and get there early

  • Very nice. I have just about the same mods you do. Where did you run a 14.5 at? I'm living in NY for the next year and I want to test her out. I know about Englishtown. Were you at low elevation when you went to the drags?

  • I ran the 14.5 at Atco, don't know the elevation there, but there are a ton of trees around the 1/8 mile mark all the way down. People think that is why Atco is a faster track

  • god that sounds good!
